THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP *

WORTHY OF ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than
me IS NOT WORTHY OF ME." |
Matthew 10:37 |

"I will not abandon my child ever!" |
Letter to S.R. Shearer from someone who
thinks he is too harsh & uncompromising |
INTRODUCTION
The
recent earthquake that rocked Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on Friday
October the 7th - a huge temblor that killed thousands and
thousands of people in what Pakistani officials now call the biggest
"natural disaster" ever to hit their nation as well as the "biggest
earthquake on record" in that area - adds to the mounting evidence that
we have at last arrived at the very threshold of what the Bible describes
as the "End of Days" - i.e., Daniel's "Seventieth Week:" that period
of time about which Jesus said:
"... then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as was not
since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall
be [again]." (Matt. 24:21) [Please see our article "Fearful Sights
and Great Signs from Heaven;" please also see Chapter V of the Antipas
Papers, "Understanding the Book of Revelation."]
The
giant quake on the Indian subcontinent appears to be a part of a continuing
"CASCADE OF DISASTERS" that is afflicting the world. All
this to say nothing about the very ominous tremors that continue to
occur along the great San Andreas Fault - tremors that Dr. Andrew C.
Revkin warns could presage a seismic event capable of "submerging
the inhabitants" of California in the Pacific Ocean. And as if to
punctuate Revkin's concern, ON THE VERY DAY that the huge
temblor in Pakistan struck, another 4.5 tremor shook the central portion
of the San Andreas Fault line in California at San Simeon.
ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE IS NOW NECESSITATED
TO ALL OF GOD'S DIRECTIVES
Now stop and think about what the Bible says all these "natural disasters"
portend: that the world is on the brink of a period of time unlike any
other "... since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor
ever shall be [again]" (Matt. 24:21); a period pregnant with danger
and peril for God's people - both spiritually and physically - and if
we are to survive it, ABSOLUTE obedience to the DIRECTIVES
of God during this emergency (so to speak) is essential.
There's no room here for "playing around" with God's INSTRUCTIONS;
no room for being haphazard with regard to them, for being casual in
connection with them, for being slipshod or careless with their plain
meaning, no matter how uncomfortable or difficult their implementation
might be: Our very souls are at stake. Believe me when I say, if ever
there was a time for being unequivocal with God, now is that time.
GOD'S DIRECTIVE: REVELATION 18:4
But
that's NOT what Christians are doing, even MANY
of those associated with Antipas, and that's especially true with regard
to God's clear COMMAND to "Come out of Babylon" - a directive
which forms the central core around which all of God's other INSTRUCTIONS
are arranged insofar as "His people" in Babylon are concerned:
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT OF HER,
my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive
not of her plagues." (Rev. 18:4) [We URGE you to read
our article, "Come Out Of Her;" we also urge you to read our article
that identifies the United States as "Prophetic Babylon" - "In Search
of Babylon: What Does the Bible Say?"]
IF ONE FAILS HERE, ONE FAILS EVERYWHERE
If
one fails here, he will fail EVERYWHERE. One should not
think that he can fail on this point (i.e., Rev. 18:4) and still be
found faithful in all the rest; one should not think that he can falter
here and later be found faithful to resist the forces of hell under
much more onerous conditions than those that presently exist. Nonetheless,
this is exactly what one dear lady thinks; she writes:
"Dear Sean,
"Please pass this on to Steve [meaning me] ... Some of us will never
leave the U.S. for a variety of reasons, but do not dismiss us for
that because our faith is strong and true. We may not be doing all
we can to testify in the streets now, but I sense our time has not
arrived yet. At this point, not many will listen and we will be branded
as insane. The time will come, however, when many people will be hungry
for what we have to say and they will listen, and the Lord will use
us in a mighty way.
"There are Christians and others in the U.S. who will be saved by
our efforts because we chose to stay and be physically with them during
the Tribulation. The internet will probably be controlled at some
point so it will be the people that you ... have touched with your
faithfulness and truth that will carry on the ministry one-on-one
with people all over the world."
A TRANSPARENT "COP-OUT"
I suppose that I should be somewhat flattered by what she says. But
I'm not! The fact is, I am very sad for her sake - and I sincerely mean
that. This dear lady is "PLAYING WITH FIRE;" she seems
to think that she can disobey God insofar as His COMMANDMENT
in Rev. 18:4 is concerned while obeying Him on the margins; and that
if she does that, everything will be okay. Isn't that what she's saying
when she writes, "Some of us will never leave the U.S. for a variety
of reasons, but do not dismiss us for that because our faith is strong
and true?" But it isn't I to whom she must answer; I'm not the one
who will someday "dismiss" her as an "unfaithful servant." It's God
who will do so. She shouldn't care what I think. Ultimately, I'm not
the one that she is trying to trick here by obeying God on the margins
while disobeying Him on the central issue of Revelation 18:4. It is
God she's trying to trick, whether she wants to admit it or not.
She goes on to say that she wants to stay behind to testify to unbelievers
during the Tribulation. She writes that, "There are Christians and
others in the U.S. who will be saved by our efforts because we chose
to stay and be physically with them during the Tribulation" - although
she admits that she is not expending much effort in this direction at
present: "We may not be doing all we can to testify in the streets
now, but I sense our time has not arrived yet. At this point, not many
will listen and we will be branded as insane. The time will come, however,
when many people will be hungry for what we have to say and they will
listen, and the Lord will use us in a mighty way."
What a transparent "cop out!" - her time has not yet come to testify
"in the streets," but someday, it will? Is that what she's saying? What
absolute hogwash! She gives the game away here, and in the process reveals
herself to be the spiritual FRAUD she really is! Who's
she kidding; if she's unwilling to go out into the streets now, what
makes her think that she will be able to go out into the streets under
much more difficult conditions then?
THERE IS SOMETHING MORE AFOOT HERE
But there is something much more serious afoot here. In her effort
to "pull the wool over God's eyes" (as it were) SHE'S "PLAYING WITH
FIRE" WITH SOMEONE SHE ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT BE "PLAYING AROUND WITH:"
THE "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (Rev. 19:16), and in so doing
she reveals herself to be an utter FOOL! Listen to me,
dear brothers and sisters, when God commands, we must obey. It absolutely
doesn't matter what we might think about the command; it doesn't matter
what kind of an impact it will have on our lives. Jesus said:
"Ye call me MASTER and LORD: and ye say
well; FOR SO I AM." (John 13:13)
The recipients of God's command in Revelation 18:4 - i.e., "My people"
- are expected to listen in reverence and fear, and OBEY,
that is, if they really are "God's people."
Indeed, the test as to whether or not they are His servants is OBEDIENCE
when He commands. I solemnly warn you, your right to call yourself a
"disciple of Christ" is being tested by what you do in this situation:
When the Master speaks, the servant must obey. If the servant fails
to obey, then he is not a servant. It doesn't matter if the servant
thinks the command is "right" or "wrong," or that it would be better
if the command were "softened" a little, and made more palatable. The
servant has NO say in the matter.
What's that say, then, about this dear lady's plaintive and very pitiable
statement, "Some of us will never leave the U.S. for a variety of
reasons, but do not dismiss us for that ..." In a back-handed way,
what she's saying is that she is NO servant of Jesus Christ!
YAHWEH
It's not without reason that God calls Himself "YAHWEH."
This name is a strange rendering of a present verb tense that means
"I AM that I AM" but which can also mean "I will be what
I will be." This is an interesting characterization that God gives Himself
because it means THAT WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO AUTHORITY OVER WHO HE
IS AND WHAT HE DOES. That authority resides solely with God.
God does what He does on His own terms: He came on His own terms (we
had no say in the matter), He lived on His own terms (the devil and
the world had no control over Him), and He died on His own terms (He
loved us while we were still enemies). In essence, He was, He is, and
He is to come NO MATTER WHAT ANY OF US THINKS. It's in this connection
that you must understand the absolute and sovereign nature of His command
in Revelation 18:4 to "Come out of Babylon."
YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY TO HIM THAT YOU WILL OBEY HIM ONCE
YOU UNDERSTAND THE REASONING BEHIND HIS COMMAND; OR YOU WILL
COMPLY WITH HIS "WISHES" ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE GOING; OR
YOU WILL DO WHAT HE HAS TOLD YOU TO DO AFTER HE EXPLAINS WHAT YOU ARE
TO DO AFTER YOU ARRIVE AT YOUR DESTINATION AND GIVES YOU A NEW "JOB
DESCRIPTION" INSOFAR AS YOUR "MINISTRY" IS CONCERNED; AND AFTER HE RESOLVES
ANY ISSUES YOU MIGHT HAVE WITH REGARD TO YOUR PHYSICAL WELL-BEING AND
YOUR FINANCIAL SECURITY.
OUR GOOD INTENTIONS COUNT FOR NOTHING
The command is: "COME OUT OF HER" - and that's all you
need to know if Christ really is your "Lord" and "Master." THIS IS
THE TEST FOR ALL CHRIST'S SERVANTS WHO ARE IN BABYLON! - and whether
you obey Him or not insofar as this command is concerned will determine
whether or not you are truly His servant.
You say that's too much? But come on now! - is it that hard to understand
that a real servant has no right to "bargain" with his master, that
he has no right to "reason" with him, that he has no right to excuse
himself from obedience to his master's command - NO MATTER HOW WELL
INTENTIONED HE MIGHT BE IN EXEMPTING HIMSELF FROM OBEYING HIS MASTER'S
INSTRUCTIONS, even if he thinks that by doing so he might be able
to better serve his Lord.
In the end, all our good intentions in disobeying God insofar as Revelation
18:4 is concerned will count for nothing. We should remember the story
of UZZA in 1 Chronicles 13.
REMEMBER UZZA
David and his followers had been commanded by God to bring the Ark
of the Covenant back to Israel from Kirjathjearim. He was further commanded
that no human hand should ever directly touch the Ark as it was being
brought home; and so -
"... they [i.e., David and his followers] carried the ark of God
in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave
the cart.
"And David and all Israel played before God with all their
might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and
with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
"And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put
forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
"And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote
him, because he put his hand to the ark: AND THERE HE DIED BEFORE
GOD. (1 Chr. 13: 7-10)
Uzza was well-intentioned when he tried to prevent the Ark from falling
to the ground. Obviously (or so it seems), God had not foreseen this
eventuality; so Uzza believed he had to step in here and help - and
if that meant disobeying God's command for him (i.e., Uzza) not to touch
the Ark, so be it. God would understand. But the Bible says, "... the
anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because
he put his hand to the ark: AND THERE HE DIED BEFORE GOD."
Is that what YOU are trying to do by not obeying God
to "Come out of Babylon?" - trying in some fashion or another to help
God out; to make up for God's occasional lapses in nor foreseeing all
the "special situations" and "peculiar circumstances" that would naturally
accrue in carrying out God's difficult command - and that's where YOU
come in.
But, again, that's exactly what Uzza thought, and God "smote" him dead
- AND THAT'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU IF YOU DEFY GOD IN THE
SAME MANNER THAT UZZA DID, your "good intentions" notwithstanding!
AND THIS IS TRUE EVEN WHEN YOUR "GOOD INTENTIONS" GO BEYOND WHAT
YOU CONSIDER TO BE YOUR "LEGITIMATE" FINANCIAL CONCERNS AND TOUCH UPON
YOUR LOVED ONES. Christ's command in this matter (i.e., Rev. 18:4)
must supercede ALL your feelings concerning your loved
ones. You have absolutely NO right to subject God's command
to your feelings with regard to those you dearly love.
I WILL NOT ABANDON MY CHILD EVER
Nonetheless, that's not what most Christians seem to think, - even
many Christians associated with Antipas - and most assuredly that's
not what our dear friend (above) thinks. She writes:
"I ... cannot leave [Babylon] because of child custody issues, [and]
I WILL NOT ABANDON MY CHILD EVER ..."
My heavens! - does she realize the implications of her statement here?
Jesus said:
"He that loveth father or mother more than me IS NOT WORTHY
OF ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me IS NOT
WORTHY OF ME. (Matt. 10:37)?
Plainly, she has - whether she wants to admit it or not - declared
herself to be UNWORTHY to be called a disciple of Christ
OR does she somehow or other imagine that Christ was simply
"blowing smoke" with regard to this portion of Scripture? That somehow
or other she will be "given a walk" insofar as these verses are concerned?
That somehow or other she can "slide" with regard to this matter? She
goes on to say:
"I firmly believe that my role is to protect ... [my daughter] and
guide her through the Tribulation as well as others who will listen.
At the age of 11 she already knows that we will not accept the mark
and will probably be running and hiding at some point with a pack
on our backs. She also understands that we will probably be killed.
It is almost too much for her to comprehend because she would rather
think about growing up, going away to college, getting married ...
"It is a daily struggle to remain faithful in the pit of Babylon.
Because of my struggle I have not one true friend and the only family
members who will listen to me and not roll their eyes are my mother
and my daughter. There is no one else to fellowship with, but I am
holding on because of you Steve ... and my own study and research
...
"I fear that it is already too late [for me] to escape Babylon ..."
Signed
-------, "staying faithful in the midst of Babylon"
I KNEW THEE THAT THOU ARE AN HARD MAN
"Staying faithful in the midst of Babylon" - is that really how she
thinks of herself? Faithful to what? - to her own twisted rendition
of the Scriptures? To her own fears and apprehensions? To her loyalty
to her own daughter over and above her loyalty to the DICTATES
of the one she cavalierly calls "Lord and Master?" But how can He be
Lord and Master to her when she puts her own needs and desires ahead
of His COMMAND for her to "Come out of Babylon" in OBEDIENCE
to the DICTATE of Revelation 18:4? Does she somehow or
other think that she is going to be "given a walk" insofar as Matt.
10:37 is concerned: "... he that loveth son or daughter more than
me IS NOT WORTHY OF ME. (Matt. 10:37)? If she
thinks so, she is in terrible danger of running afoul of God and suffering
the same consequences that befell Uzza.
The sad fact of the matter is, she is in great jeopardy of being cast
out "into outer darkness" with the "unprofitable servant" of
Matthew chapter 25. Pretty harsh! - but then that's what the "unprofitable
servant" thought too (and it should be noted that the Lord did not disabuse
him of the thought that He was a "hard master"):
"Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord,
I KNEW THEE THAT THOU ARE AN HARD MAN, reaping where thou hast
not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
"AND I WAS AFRAID, and went and hid thy talent in the earth:
lo, there thou hast that is thine. (Matt. 25:24-25)
BEING PUT "ON THE TEST"
Is that what you are? ARE YOU AFRAID? Are you afraid
of obeying God because it will cost you your relationship with your
loved-ones? That's what this sister is! - plainly she's afraid
that if she obeys God it might cost her daughter. Isn't that what she
means when she says, "I will not abandon my child ever!" ?
She acts as if she is the first person that God has ever called upon
to choose between Himself and his or her child. But of course, she's
not! - wasn't that precisely what God called Abraham to do? Clearly
it was! -
"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt [i.e.,
"TEST] Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said,
Behold, here I am.
"And he said, TAKE NOW THY SON, THINE ONLY SON ISAAC,
WHOM THOU LOVEST, AND GET THEE INTO THE LAND OF MORIAH; AND
OFFER HIM THERE FOR A BURNT OFFERING upon one of the mountains
which I will tell thee of.
"And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and
took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the
wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place
of which God had told him.
"Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place
afar off.
"And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass;
and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
"And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it
upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife;
and they went both of them together.
"And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and
he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and
the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
"And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a
burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
"And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham
built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac
his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
"AND ABRAHAM STRETCHED FORTH HIS HAND, AND TOOK THE KNIFE TO SLAY
HIS SON. (Genesis 22:1-10)
MANY ARE ABOUT TO BE TESTED,
AND MANY WILL FAIL THAT TEST
God commanded, and Abraham obeyed. He was obedient to God even at the
cost of his own dear son - as all true followers of God must be. It's
not without reason that Jesus said:
"IF A MAN LOVE ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS [i.e., he will obey
Me]: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make
our abode with him.
"HE THAT LOVETH ME NOT KEEPETH NOT MY SAYINGS: and the word
which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. (John 14:23-24)
The test that one loves God is OBEDIENCE. It's not how "sappy"
or teary-eyed" one might become in prayer; it's not how pious one might
appear to others; it's none of these things. Obedience is the test of
one's love for God.
Clearly, Abraham proved his love for God because he obeyed God - even
at the cost of his son; but just as clearly this dear lady has proved
that she DOES NOT LOVE GOD BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT OBEY
HIS HOLY DICTATE with regard to the command of Rev. 18:4. She values
her daughter more highly than she values her relationship with God OR
how else does one interpret her actions when she says, "I will not
abandon my child" despite the clear COMMAND of God
insofar as Babylon is concerned. Again, Jesus said:
"He that loveth father or mother more than me IS NOT WORTHY
OF ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me IS NOT
WORTHY OF ME. (Matt. 10:37)?
This is a very hard saying - i.e., to OBEY God no matter
what the cost, even the cost of your dearest loved-ones - and so much
so that Jesus felt it necessary to reinforce what He was saying with
the words: "... and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's
which sent me." (John 14:24)
EVEN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WIFE AND HUSBAND
CANNOT SUPERCEDE ONE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Moreover - and at the very grave risk of offending many of those associated
with our ministry - I should add that wives and husbands are included
in this DIRECTIVE (i.e., Matthew 10:37), and this is made
clear when Jesus expands on this DICTATE in the Gospel
of Mark:
"Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or
brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, [or husband],
or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
"But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with
persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. (Mark 10:29-30)
Now the salient point here is this: that leaving a husband or wife
is sometimes necessary insofar as discipleship is concerned, OR
what does one think that God means when He says, "There is no man
[and by implication, woman] that HATH LEFT ... wife, [and,
by implication, husband] ..." Does one think that one's loyalty
to God is trumped by one's loyalty to wife or husband?
This, of course, is a very, very hard saying - and one that I am afraid
will deeply offend many of those associated with this ministry (if only
because it strips them of their last excuse to obey God's command in
Rev. 18:4); but, then, Jesus was being very hard when He said:
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send
peace, but a sword.
"For I am come to SET A MAN AT VARIANCE against his father,
and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against
her mother in law. (Matthew 10:34-35)
And to think that one's relationship with one's wife or husband is
somehow or other "special" insofar as the "cost of discipleship" is
concerned is farcical - and that's made plain in 1 Cor. 7:10-16.
This passage of Scripture begins with the "truism" that the relationship
between husband and wife is a very special one and should not be easily
dissolved, even on account of unbelief:
"... If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased
to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
"And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if
he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him." (1 Cor. 7:12-13)
YOU ARE NOT IN BONDAGE
But there is an important proviso in connection with this: The assumption
being made here is that if a believing husband or wife is walking in
the "way of OBEDIENCE" with Christ, and his or her mate
does not hinder, then he or she should allow the unbelieving mate to
remain. However, the Bible goes on to say:
"BUT if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A
brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but
God hath called us to peace.
"For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy
husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy
wife? (1 Cor. 7:15-16)
The requirement that is placed on all those (both men and women, brothers
and sisters) IS THAT THEY OBEY GOD. If one's unbelieving (or
"backslidden") wife, or one's unbelieving (or "backslidden") husband
is willing to remain and not hamper one in his or her walk with the
Lord, then let him or her do so. [This, of course, does not absolve
the believing wife from "reverencing" her unbelieving husband in other
matters, or the believing husband from loving and gently cherishing
his unbelieving wife.] But if the unbelieving partner chooses to depart
because he or she cannot abide the loyalty that the believing partner
has for Christ, then let the unbelieving partner depart. The Bible says:
"A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases
..." (1 Cor. 7:15)
One's relationship with God supercedes one's relationship with husband
or wife. Now, in all of this, one should not think that I am advocating
the disruption of one's marriage - I AM NOT. After all, I have
been married to my dear wife for almost 45-years, and she is the ONE
and ONLY wife I have ever had - unlike so many of my detractors,
many of whom, like Charles Stanley and John Hagee, have been divorced,
and not for the reasons cited above, but simply because they grew tired
of their wives and wanted "to move on" into newer and more exotic relationships
with "trophy wives." And anyone who does that - and attempts to use
1 Cor. 7:15 to do so, a PLAGUE on them.
YOUR DISCIPLESHIP IS BEING TESTED NOW
Now, why have we gone to such lengths here with regard to these matters?
The reason is this: We are very close to the end now - the continuing
"CASCADE OF DISASTERS" that is besetting the world (as
evidenced most recently by the huge temblor in Afghanistan, Pakistan
and India) - proves this. YOU MUST NOT ALLOW ANYTHING
(financial considerations, safety considerations, etc.) OR ANYONE
(husbands, wives, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, etc.) TO GET
IN YOUR WAY NOW AS YOU SEEK TO OBEY GOD. Soon it will become too
late for YOU to do anything about your situation. It will
become too late for you to obey God insofar as this matter is concerned
- and if that's the case, you must understand that you will surely
pay the consequences, just as surely as Uzza did.
And in this connection, you must not think - even for a minute - that
if you are caught in the trap that is now gathering about you in the
United States, and you get "stuck" in Babylon after all the escape routes
have been shut down - and all this because of your disobedience with
regard to God's command in Rev. 18:4 - God will then use you where you
are. That's not what Rev. 18:4 says: rather it warns you that you will
be spiritually COMPROMISED (despite your best efforts
to avoid being compromised), and you will be JUDGED for
it:
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her,
my people, THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS (i.e., so that
you are not compromised spiritually), and that ye RECEIVE NOT OF
HER PLAGUES (so that you be not judged)." (Rev. 18:4)
TIME IS NO LONGER ON YOUR SIDE
Time is no longer on YOUR side. It is YOUR
enemy now. Time will not make things better for you; it will only make
things worse. God is bending over the parapet of heaven, as it were,
and by means of "... FEARFUL SIGHTS and GREAT SIGNS ...
FROM HEAVEN" (Luke 21:11) HE IS FRANTICALLY TRYING TO
SHAKE YOU OUT OF YOUR COMPLACENCY.
"Hurry! Hurry!" - that's what the Lord is trying to say to you! - who
knows where and when the next disaster will strike.
YOUR FAITH IS BEING TESTED
YOUR FAITH IS BEING TESTED NOW! - and the test is this for all
those Christians who are called by Christ's name in Babylon: WILL
YOU BE OBEDIENT TO GOD'S COMMAND TO "COME OUT OF HER?"
That's the test! That's how your discipleship will be tested.
This may not be the test to which you wanted to be subjected, but it
is the test that you have been given, and I solemnly warn you that if
you fail here, you will fail in all the rest. [We URGE
you once again to read our article, "Come Out of Her."]
FINALLY, let me assure you here: My purpose in telling
you this is not to offend you; what do I gain by doing so? - by turning
you into my enemy? - by making you hate me? I gain nothing by doing
this. As hard as it may be for you to believe, I love you - and most
especially the dear sister I have referenced in this article - and I
love you so much that I am willing to run the risk of loosing any relationship
I might have with you by delivering unto you the WHOLE
council of God - even if it means that you become my enemy and those
of you who have been supporting this ministry should now cease to do
so. It's NOT your love or your financial support that
I am after; I seek to preserve your soul and bring you safely through
what's ahead, for the time is short.
God bless you,
S.R. Shearer
Antipas Ministries
P.S. Now, if we have not totally offended you, and you still wish to
remain loyal to the ministry, we ask you to remember the word of Scripture
which says -
"If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great
thing if we shall reap your carnal (material) things?" (1Cor. 9:11)
If you have benefited from this ministry, then we ask that you return
the favor by ministering to us of your material things. We need your
continued financial support for this ministry - which is moment by moment
under very heavy spiritual and physical attack - if we are to go forward.
* Much of the material dealing with the sovereignty of God - especially
as that sovereignty relates to our unquestioning obedience to His commands
- was derived from Stephen and Lisa Greer's article, "The Bible
as the Word of God."
| We need your help to spread the word concerning Antipas Ministries and the
eschatological viewpoint it represents; WE NEED YOUR
HELP BECAUSE WE DO NOT "LINK" WITH OTHER SO-CALLED "CHRISTIAN"
WEBSITES which are, for the most part, "in the tank"
insofar as their loyalty to the United States is concerned
- a loyalty that has made them partners in the BLOODY
trail the American military has left in its TERROR-RIDDEN
rampage throughout the world, as well as making them partners
in the abject poverty that American corporations have
imposed on the peoples and nations the American military
machine has ravaged - A BLOODY, TERROR-RIDDEN RAMPAGE
THAT HAS TO A LARGE DEGREE BEEN CARRIED OUT IN THE NAME
OF THE "PRINCE OF PEACE." [Please see our articles,
"The Third World
as a Model for the New World Order," Inside
the American New World Order System" and "The
American Empire: The Corporate / Pentagon / CIA / Missionary
Archipelago."]
