A Short Word to My Detractors

Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord:

As I write this letter, please understand that - except for two individuals I refer to here as "Hymenaeus" and "Alexander" (1 Ti. 1:20) - I have no particular person in mind as I write, and it would be WRONG for anyone to think that this is an "attack" on them or anyone else.  I say this because all too often I receive communications from people who are "absolutely sure" that I had them in mind when I wrote this or that particular article - which, of course, is not true - and were deeply hurt by the "personal" and "bad-tempered" nature of my criticism.  Please keep this in mind as you read.

Furthermore, I should remind you that by their very nature, the Prophetic Scriptures are HARSH and UNYIELDING, and those who think they are doing God a service by "sugar-coating" them are making a big mistake.

THE PROPHETIC SCRIPTURES ARE LIKE …

As I have said so many times before, the Prophetic Scriptures are like a road sign saying:

"Slow down, sharp right hand turn ahead!"

But if we fail to heed the sign, if we fail to slow down before we get to the turn, it will be too late to brake once we finally get there, and we will surely slide off the road and crash. Like a road sign, prophecy tells us things BEFORE they happen so that we can take evasive action before events catch up with us. If we wait until they finally overtake us, it will be too late to do anything - we will crash!

UNFORTUNATELY …

UNFORTUNATEL, most Christians who are drawn to the Prophetic Scriptures today are drawn to them simply as "nice to know information," but nothing more. Somehow or other, they think that simply by knowing that the church in America is apostate, and that the United States is indeed "Babylon the Great," that makes them better Christians than those who surround them and who are actually participants in this apostasy.

These worried "Christian purists" believe that just because God has allowed them to pierce the darkness concerning the identity of the "BEAST NATION" of Dan. 7:7 - that "DREADFUL" and "TERRIBLE" nation that will arise in the "end of days," that "OVERFLOWING SCOURGE" (Is. 28:18) that will gain mastery over the entire earth and establish a ONE-WORLD EMPIRE - that alone somehow makes them better than their co-religionists who stubbornly cling to the erroneous notion that America is God's "Redeemer Nation."

And if, per chance, they have seen the American church for what she really is, the WOMAN WHO IS RIDING THIS BEAST, that makes them doubly better than those who surround them - a fact that gives them an excuse for the "splendid isolation" into which they in their haughty "self-conceit" have retreated.

KNOWLEDGE ALONE WILL NOT SAVE US

They have come to believe that this knowledge alone alleviates them from the CRIMES of the American New World Order System. It washes them clean of the great wickedness that America is inflicting on the world. No longer can it be said of them that they bear any responsibility for the way in which America is devouring the world and trampling underfoot the poor of the earth - deaf to the cries of the sick, the naked and the undernourished of Africa, Asia, Latin America and even the poor in their own midst. And no longer can it be said of them that they bear any responsibility for the way THE AMERICAN CHURCH JUSTIFIES THE "BEAST" IN HER MISDEEDS. After all, have they not "separated" themselves from this church?

Astonishingly, these nincompoops believe that because they recognize what is occurring AND FEEL BAD ABOUT IT, that absolves them from any responsibility for what's happening - both insofar as the United States is concerned, and also insofar as the American church is concerned. "Yes," they say, "America is doing bad things and the church in America is wrong in justifying those bad things." But because they feel bad about it - sorry for the luckless victims of America's greed and avarice - and because they even on occasion speak out against all this and have even put a little space between themselves and the church, they feel that they haven't been robbed of their humanity. Their conscience, their character, and their "Christianity" remain intact. They can remain attached to Babylon secure in the "keeping power of Christ."

They can go to the mall and shop for clothes that are being made in America's slave labor factories throughout the world, purchase toys for their children and grandchildren manufactured by prison labor in China, buy gasoline that is being made from oil that America has robbed from the peoples of the Middle East, exploit the raw material stolen from the poor in Africa, eat the exotic foods imported from Asia on land that should be producing food for the local populations there, etc. - and they can do all this because they feel bad about what America is up to, because they occasionally speak out against what America is doing, and because they don't attend the churches that justify America in its "crimes against humanity."

These simpletons and ninnies think somehow or other that they are immune from the somber warning of Scripture which tells us, "A little leaven leaveneth the WHOLE lump" (Gal. 5:9); that simple PROXMITY can affect them.

Moreover, in thinking that PROXMITY cannot affect them - that they are somehow or other immune from this leaven - they reveal their own pompous hubris, and the high level of spirituality that they presumptuously think they have achieved, a level of spirituality they think makes them invulnerable to the leaven of Babylon the Great. They have persuaded themselves that they can maintain their "holiness" (and that by themselves acting alone) even when surrounded by the moral corruption of "Babylon the Great" - and I speak here not about what the Religious Right terms "corruption," but rather of the hypocrisy and self-righteousness of today's American church.

I AM NOT BEING ARROGANT
OR "HIGH-MINDED" WHEN I SAY …

Brothers and sisters, I am not being arrogant or "high-minded" when I say to you that I have been "CALLED" by God to warn you that if you continue in this rank STUPIDITY and purposeful NAIVETY, you are placing yourselves in great peril - not only physically, but spiritually as well.

Yes! - this is an HARSH saying; and because it is so HARSH, many people have drawn back from the ministry and gone their own way. It's not that they disagree with my writings per se, it's the fact that I maintain that more is required of them than just acceding to the fact that America is Babylon the Great, and that the American church is an HARLOT church. Indeed two brothers who have been "breathing fire" down on me for a good many years now (and who ERRONEOUSLY claim that they were "with me" in the beginning) have gone on the "net" to charge me with being a "Jim Jones," a "Branch Davidian," and a man who - because of his severity and even anger - wrecks lives because of the demands he places on them.

But it is not I who make these demands, but the Lord. What these two are really angry with me about is that by not backing down and acceding to the belief that one can remain in Babylon and not be affected by her great wickedness, I have exposed them in their overarching HYPOCRISY when they fail to take meaningful action insofar as the Prophetic Scriptures are concerned - that is, to take any action that truly inconveniences them and impacts their "comfort zones."

NOTE: One of these brothers claims to have been the president of Antipas Ministries at one time; but that was NOTHING more than an honorific title that had been bestowed upon him by me - a title that he felt he needed when he went out to represent Antipas while he was still with the ministry. Moreover, except for a number of small articles he wrote on the matter of "house-churches," this brother NEVER contributed any written material to the website except for his inane "Letters from Babylon" and his occasional advise on how to "prosper" in the midst of tribulation by tapping into Imelda Marcos's ill-gotten fortune or some other such asinine financial scheme.

The other brother is so nauseously self-promoting in everything he does and says that I am truly sorry I ever had anything to do with him. He's the kind of brother who ardently desires to be at the head of a parade - any parade - and he doesn't really care what direction the parade is going.

Truly, these brothers have been to me what Hymenaeus and Alexander were to Paul. (1 Ti. 1:20)

AND THEN THERE ARE THOSE …

And then there are those (and there are many of them) who - as I transit through the United States on my way to Germany - beseech me to stay in this country; to commit myself to them because they "love me" and desire to "balance" me insofar as what they see as my "hysteria." But I rather suspect that the real reason they want me to stay is that by staying I will JUSTIFY THEM IN THEIR STAYING.

Finally, there are those (and, again, there are many of them) who say they have been called by God to remain in the United States to raise up "house-churches" as testimonies against what is occurring here - though, after many, many years of trying, they have been singularly and corporately unsuccessful in ALL their attempts. To these people I would simply ask, "Where are those house-churches that you say you are going to raise up and shepherd" and which could justify your "staying?"

For my part, I WISH WITH ALL MY HEART THAT THESE BROTHERS (AND SOME SISTERS) HAD BEEN SUCCESSFUL. The fact is, had these brothers actually raised up some "house-churches" - even a few here and there - I would probably feel very differently about their "staying" - despite what I see as the clear warning in Scripture to "get out." But they have not raised up any churches, even the smallest Bible-studies, and there is NO real indication that they ever will - though I am sure they will continue to try if only because it justifies their staying.

The fact is, the Bible calls the "place" where the woman dwells (i.e., the united States) a "wilderness" (Rev. 17:1-6) - a desert where there are no life-giving waters; and if that's the case, no matter how much one tills and fertilizes the soil there, nothing will grow. Given this reality, it's best for you to go somewhere else where your labor will actually produce some fruit.

As for the "lefties," those in the "gay and lesbian community," all those women who don't want to be reduced to a misogynist hell, as well as all those other groups the American church never tires of HATING, you had better get out too while there is still time. THERE WILL BE WEEPING
AND GNASHING OF TEETH

I realize that in saying all this I have given my detractors even more reason to call me HARSH and UNLOVING. That's not my purpose, however. I have no desire to be hated; to be called harsh and unloving. But I am willing to risk their (your) wrath if by some means I can save them (you) from having to reckon with someone far more UNYIELDING in His harshness than I could ever be; someone who - upon being approached by one of His servants who had called Him "an HARD man who reaped where He had not sown, and gathered where He had not strawed" - said:

"Thou wicked and slothful servant, THOU KNEWEST THAT I REAP WHERE I SOWED NOT, AND GATHERED WHERE I HAVE NOT STRAWED:

"Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers (which is tantamount to giving to Antipas so that it can get on with its work - something that most who say they are "staying" do not even do), and then at my coming I should have received mine own with USURY.

"Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

"For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

"AND CAST YE THE UNPROFITABLE SERVANT INTO OUTER DARKNESS: THERE SHALL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH." (Matthew 25:26-30)
