THE TRUTH ABOUT
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN
THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA

INTRODUCTION

Michel Chossudovsky, a Canadian economist, a professor of economics at the University of Ottawa, a frequent contributor to Le Monde Diplomatique and a well-known critic of the American New World Order System, writes on the evolving crisis in the Caucasus between Russia on the one hand, and the United States on the other; he describes the opening hours of the conflict:

"During the night of August 7, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, Georgia's president Saakashvili ordered an all-out military attack on Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia [a break-away Georgian province].

"The aerial bombardments and ground attacks [by the Georgians against South Ossetia] were largely directed against civilian targets including residential areas, hospitals and the university. The provincial capital Tskhinvali was destroyed. The attacks resulted in some 1500 civilian deaths, according to both Russian and Western sources.  'The air and artillery bombardment left the provincial capital without water, food, electricity and gas. Horrified civilians crawled out of the basements into the streets as fighting eased, looking for supplies'. (AP, August 9, 2008). According to reports, some 34,000 people from South Ossetia have fled to Russia. (Deseret Morning News, Salt Lake City, August 10, 2008)."

BACKGROUND TO THE CURRENT FIGHTING

A little background to Georgia's aggression against South Ossetia is perhaps in order here: When Georgia seceded from the Old Soviet Union and re-formed itself as an independent republic, two provinces in Georgia contained Russian majority populations - specifically, South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The Russian residents of these two areas (which are differentiated from Georgians both culturally and linguistically) were seen by the new rulers of Georgia as a danger to Georgia's independence and to its development into a "Western-oriented democracy" (which, when "translated," means a puppet-state of the American New World Order System and the oil elites who thirst after the "black gold" of the Caspian Sea). NOTE: Adzharia - a third break-away province - is populated by ethnic Georgians; but these are Georgians who have a stubborn streak of independence and who have refused to knuckle under to Tbilisi so-called "Western-oriented democracy," preferring the mixture of a form of moderate socialism and capitalism to the predatory, winner-take-all, laissez faire capitalism that the United States has introduced into the rest of Georgia.

On Aug. 14, 1992, the Georgian government sent its "rag-tag," motley army into South Ossetia and Abkhazia to assert Georgian sovereignty over the Russian residents in the area. The orgy of murder, plunder and rape that followed engendered a bitter Abkhazian and South Ossetian backlash - one that resulted in an indigenous rebellion in both provinces, and the eventual expulsion of Georgia's rabble army from these territories.

Smarting from its defeat, Georgia was enticed to join GUUAM, a military alliance consisting of Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Moldavia (hence, GUUAM) - all former republics of the Old Soviet Union. GUUAM is tightly controlled by the United States and is linked informally to NATO.

At Georgia's request, the U.S. sent "advisors" into Georgia to train Georgia's military as a precursor for a renewed effort at asserting its control over the break-away provinces. Sensing that Georgia was planning to send troops into South Ossetia and Abkhazia again - this time not merely to subdue the Russians living there, but to ethnically "cleanse" the area - the two break-away provinces requested "peace-keepers" from Russia to secure them from renewed Georgian aggression. Even Adzharia requested Russian "peace-keepers;" but Russia declined Adzharia's request.

AMERICAN BACKING OF
GEORGIA'S AGGRESSION

It's in the light of all this that one must understand what's going on now in Georgia: The conflict - at least insofar as Georgia is concerned - is part of a renewed effort by Georgia (one covertly backed by the American military) to regain control of its three break-away provinces, and in the process secure Georgia as a transshipment point for Caspian Sea oil flowing to the West, which is something that the American oil elites who really run Georgia are very much interested in. Interestingly (and very tellingly), Georgia's attack on South Ossetia came on the heels of a surreptitious joint military exercise known as "Operation Immediate Response 2008" involving a large contingent of U.S. special forces; more than 1,000 U.S. airborne troops from bases in Vicenza, Italy; soldiers from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command based in Kaiserslautern, Germany; marines from the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines; and army combat personnel from the 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry based out of Georgia (U.S.).

What's even more interesting is that the bombardment of South Ossetia by the Georgian military (described above by Chossudovsky) was initiated from combat positions prepared in advance by American troops that had been involved in "Operation Immediate Response 2008."

What all this seems to suggest is that the attack by Georgian troops on Russian-backed South Ossetian forces was carefully coordinated by the U.S. military - and this is further substantiated by the fact that many of the U.S. troops that participated in "Operation Immediate Response 2008" were still "in-country" when the attack by Georgia on South Ossetia was launched.

THE QUESTIONS TO BE
ASKED IN ALL OF THIS ...

The questions to be asked in all of this - and questions that Chossudovsky does ask - are:

"Who is behind this military agenda? What interests are being served? What is the purpose of the military operation?"

The "Who" and the "What" that Chossudovsky is searching for is "Who" specifically in the United States is behind all this? And "What" specifically are the interests being served? He continues:

"GEORGIA DOES NOT ACT MILITARILY WITHOUT THE ASSENT OF WASHINGTON. The Georgian head of State is a US proxy and Georgia is a de facto US protectorate ..."

It's in the light of this fact that Chossudovsky states the obvious:

"The importance and timing of this military operation must be carefully analyzed. It has far-reaching implications."

SINISTER, SPECTRAL FORCES

In other words, something more is afoot in the Caucasus than a mere fight over lost territory between different ethnic groups. There are motives involved that transcend Georgia's desire to win back her lost provinces, and that even rise above the desire of America's oil elites to secure the oil pipelines that run through Georgia's territory.

All this to say that there are sinister, spectral forces driving Georgia's attack on South Ossetia that are far more malevolent than those who merely hold the reigns of power in this "back-water" country; forces that refused to back down from attacking South Ossetia even after Russia had warned not only Georgia, but the West that it would fight to protect its citizens living there; FORCES THAT WERE WELL AWARE THAT GEORGIA WOULD BE TROUNCED BADLY IF RUSSIA INTERVENED.

THE U.S. KNEW THAT GEORGIA
WOULD BE BEATEN BADLY

Chossudovsky writes:

"A Georgian victory ... was an IMPOSSIBILITY from the outset. AND THIS WAS KNOWN AND UNDERSTOOD BY US MILITARY PLANNERS."

Chossudovsky substantiates his belief concerning America's duplicity with regard to Georgia on information he acquired from Dmitry Rogozin, Russia's envoy to NATO. Rogozin told Chossudovsky that Moscow had information that Mikheil Saakashvili had coordinated his plans with his -

"'sponsors' - 'those with whom he is negotiating Georgia's accession to NATO' (i.e., the United States)." (RIA Novosti, August 8, 2008)

The fact that the Americans actually knew that they were sending Georgian troops into a meat-grinder (and approved this fact) led Sergei Balmasov of Pravda to write:

"THE USA WAS USING THE SMALL COUNTRY OF GEORGIA AS A TOY."

Chossudovsky elaborates on Balmasov's comments in Pravda:

"If the objective were [truly] to restore Georgian political control over the provincial government, the operation would have been undertaken in a very different fashion, with Special Forces occupying key public buildings, communications networks and provincial institutions, rather than waging an all out bombing raid on residential areas, hospitals, not to mention Tskhinvali's University."

THE RUSSIAN COUNTERATTACK

According to Rogozin, Moscow initially believed the attack would be directed against -

"... Abkhazia [rather than South Ossetia]; however, the Abkhaz fortified region turned out to be unassailable for Georgian armed formations; therefore a different tactic was chosen: An attack aimed against South Ossetia, which is more accessible territorially."

Chossudovsky continues:

"The [Russian] counterattack [against attacking Georgian forces] was swiftly carried out. Russian paratroopers were sent in from Russia's Ivanovo, Moscow and Pskov airborne divisions. Tanks, armored vehicles and several thousand ground troops were [also] deployed. Russian air strikes targeted military facilities inside Georgia including the Gori military base.

"As a result, the Georgian military attack was repelled WITH A MASSIVE SHOW OF STRENGTH ON THE PART OF THE RUSSIAN MILITARY."

SUCKING THE RUSSIANS
INTO A BROADER CONFLICT

It's in the light of these facts that Chossudovsky concludes that what the Americans were really aiming at in sending Georgian troops into South Ossetia was the creation of -

"A HUMANITARIAN DISASTER [THAT COULD BE BLAMED ON THE RUSSIANS] RATHER THAN A MILITARY VICTORY. The objective was to destroy the provincial capital, while also inflicting a significant loss of human life [and then to attribute it all to the Russians].

According to Chossudovsky, what the U.S. ultimately wants to do is -

"... suck the Russians into a broader military confrontation with Georgia which could potentially escalate into an all out war [with the West] ..." [one in which the U.S. plans to use nuclear weapons after the so-called crisis has been given enough time to fully blossom - a matter of months, maybe a few years.] [Please see Chapter XII of the New Antipas Papers, Part II, "U.S. Military Supremacy," specifically, "America's Nuclear Forces." Chossudovsky states further that -

"The US decision to repatriate [2,000] Georgian servicemen [out of Iraq and back to Georgia] suggests that Washington is intent upon an escalation of the conflict, where Georgian troops are to be used as cannon fodder against a massive deployment of Russian forces ..."

Chossudovsky concludes:

"The war on Southern Ossetia was not meant to be won, leading to the restoration of Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia. IT WAS INTENDED TO DESTABILIZE THE REGION AND TO TRIGGER A US-NATO CONFRONTATION WITH RUSSIA."

A NEW KIND OF WARFARE

The kind of warfare the Americans are practicing against Russia here is a new kind of warfare; a kind of warfare the battleground of which is not so much the battlefield on the ground, but the battlefield in the media with goals and objectives other than those that seem apparent on the ground. Journalist Jeannie Toschi Visconti writes on the role of PR (public relations) firms in the new globalist world of today:

"In recent years a new method of waging war has evolved. It is cynical, amoral, and dangerous, because it is capable of mobilizing and influencing millions of people. It is called media war. The masters of this new type of warfare are experts in communications and visual images; they work out of sterile offices thousands of kilometers away from the battlefield. Their weapons are computers, fax machines, an updated card index with addresses, good contacts in the biggest TV networks and newspapers and among politicians of the party in power. The operators using this new methodology are called public relations agencies.

"Their operational technique is based on the exploitation of any news of media significance, regardless of whether it is unverified, which is fed to news agencies by fax machine. When the tension caused by the rivers of paper and obsessive television pictures begins to dissipate, a new story is served up to arouse public indignation once more. The consequences are truly catastrophic because ... [what's really happening] is supplanted by a make-believe drama." Back in 1999, I wrote in "Follow-up Report on: More Lies and Deceptions Concerning Kosovo:"

"The American public is being 'hustled', and it's not 'Minnesota Fats' that's doing the hustling, but elites who are selling us all down the river to preserve intact their various globalist economic agendas. These are elites who view the American public as nothing more than cattle that need to be 'supervised'; they're people who divide the world into 'us' (i.e., the elites) and 'them' (the rest of us; the 'masses' - the people who need to be 'managed' and 'kept under control'; people who need to be told what to do and when to do it). This is what the totalitarian state is all about."

Commenting on the media warfare described above, the late Professor C. Wright Mills of Columbia has written:

"From almost any angle of vision that we might assume, when we look upon the [American] public, we realize that we have moved a considerable distance along the road to a mass society. At the end of the road there is totalitarianism, as in Nazi Germany ..." [Please see our recent sidebar article, "What Is Fascism and What Is Its Connection to the United States."]

Mills writes that in this kind of situation, a circumstance arises insofar as the media is concerned where society is effectively divided into two camps -

" ... the manipulators (i.e., the elite) with their mass media on the one hand, and the people receiving their propaganda on the other (i.e., the 'masses')." [Please see our article, "The Corporate State and the Mass Media."]

Mills continues,

"Under such conditions, it is not surprising that there should arise a conception of public opinion as a mere reaction - we cannot say 'response' - to the content of the mass media. In this view, the public is merely the collectivity of individuals [i.e., the cattle which need to be 'managed'] - each [member of the mass] rather passively exposed to the mass media and rather helplessly opened up to the suggestions and manipulations that flow from these media."

THE "NEO-CONS" AND THE NEW
MEDIA WAR AGAINST RUSSIA

The media war that has been launched against Russia is being managed by the "neo-cons" that have surrounded the Bush Administration, and who are now gathering themselves around McCain. [Please see our articles on the "neo-cons," "The Great Deception" and "The Neo-Conservatives."]

They maintain that events in South Ossetia "prove" four things:

1. That Russia has an army capable of conducting successful operations - a fact many Western observers have doubted.

2. That Russia has demonstrated that it can defeat forces trained by US advisors.

3. That Russia has shown that the USA and NATO do not possess the ability to interfere anywhere they choose - and the former republics of the old Soviet Union (including the Ukraine, the entire Caucasus and Central Asia) would be advised to take this matter seriously.

4. Finally, that Poland and the Czech Republic should carefully re-consider deploying American interceptor missile systems in their countries.

NOTE: One should note the fact that the "neo-con" blitz against Russia has already born fruit in this instance (i.e., #4 above) by producing in Poland and the Czech Republic the angst necessary to push them into an even more "toady-like" relationship with the United States than the one that already existed - one that has caused them to slavishly acquiesce to America's demand to place a missile shield in their countries; one that the United States says is aimed at Iran, but one that most observers suspect is really targeted against Russia's ICBMs.

Contrary to what the media is saying, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE NEO-CONs WANTED, a result which will make an American nuclear "first strike" against Russia more sure than it already is. THE RUSSIANS KNOW WHAT'S
HAPPENING, BUT WHAT CAN THEY DO?

And it isn't as if the Russians don't understand what's happening. They do! But what can they do about it? The choice before them is to let their citizens in South Ossetia and Abkhazia be "ethnically cleansed," or intervene to save them and suffer the media blitz the "neo-cons" have launched against them. They've chosen to save their compatriots and suffer the consequences.

Sergei Balmasov writes in Pravda:

"The USA is pursuing absolutely different goals, and the creation of the Great Georgia is surely not on its list. THE REPUBLICANS ORGANIZED THE PROVOCATION TO PORTRAY RUSSIA AS A MONSTER on the globe on the threshold of the November elections. This plays into the hands of John McCain, who openly says that 'Russia's imperial ambition' needs to be curbed."

NOTE: Here Balmasov brings up another motive: by portraying Russia as a monster, the neo-cons "up the odds" for a McCain victory in November - WHICH MAY BE THE MAIN REASON BEHIND THE TIMING OF GOERGIA'S ATTACK AGAINST SOUTH OSSETIA. This gives credence to Chossudovsky's contention that "... the timing of this military operation must be carefully analyzed. It has far-reaching implications" - MEANING MAINTAINING THE NEO-CONs IN POWER IN WASHINGTON, IN CONTROL OF AMERICA'S FOREIGN POLICY AND IN CONTROL OF ITS MILITARY.

Rogozin agrees with Balmasov; he says Georgia's attack on South Ossetia was deliberately organized to paint Russia as a BRUTE BEAST bent on trying to reassert itself as a MONSTER - a monster intent on destroying everything that is "right" and "just" in the world.

According to Rogozin, elite circles in the United States (specifically, U.S. oil elites) "require" a "better" (i.e., a more "horrific") enemy than Iran if they are to convince the American public to support a larger standing army - larger than the relatively small army left to it by the Clinton Administration; one more capable of properly "garrisoning" America's far-flung empire of slave states. LOOKING FOR A STOOGE

According to Rogozin, America has been looking for a "stooge" that it could use in helping it portray Russia as a beast - and it has found one in the current president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili. This is precisely what Eduard Shevardnadze, Georgia's former president - who was deposed by an American-rigged election (the so-called "Rose Revolution") because he was too closely aligned with Russia - believes also.

Saakashvili has been carefully groomed as an American stooge for sometime now. Indeed, it was for this purpose that he was brought to the United States in the early 1990s where he received a LLM degree from Columbia Law School in 1994 and a Doctor of Laws degree from The George Washington University Law School the following year. After graduation he was primed as a Wall Street "toad" in the offices of a well-heeled New York law firm (Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler - a firm ranked as #3 overall and #1 among New York-based firms on the American Lawyer's 2008 "A-List" of leading law firms in the United States).

While working there, Saakashvili was approached by Zurab Zhvania, a "wheeler and dealer" for Wall Street interests in Georgia. Zhvania was involved in the Western-takeover of all Georgia shipping assets involved in the transshipment of Caspian Sea oil to the West via the Black Sea, including the important Batumi Oil terminal on Georgia's coast. The deal was brokered by Zhvania on behalf of Danish millionaire Jan Bonde Nielsen who was acting as a middleman for Western oil interests. Nielsen had "plausible deniability" insofar as his connections to Wall Street were concerned because he was a Dane rather than an American.

THE "ROSE REVOLUTION"

Shortly after Saakashvili's return to Georgia, Wall Street organized the so-called "Rose Revolution" to rid itself of Shevardnadze and install Saakashvili. The "Rose Revolution" was instigated in Washington and executed by American PR firms in Tbilisi. Barry Grey and Vladimir Volkov of WSR report on the American-inspired intrigue that surrounded the "Rose Revolution" and led to Saakashvili's assumption of power in Tbilisi; they write:

"The forces that collaborated in the campaign of demonstrations and protests [again, the so-called "Rose Revolution"] that ultimately forced out Shevardnadze are squarely in the camp of Washington, and enthusiastically embrace the 'free market' economic policies promoted by the Bush administration and Wall Street.

"The made-in-America pedigree of these 'democrats' and 'revolutionaries' goes further than mere political and ideological affinities. The leading groups and individuals involved in the drive to unseat Shevardnadze were financed by US government-linked institutions, and given training by these and other Western sponsors on how to mount 'revolutions' like the ouster of Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic." Since his installation as president of Georgia, Saakashvili has been shameless in proclaiming his fealty to Washington. Verbally throwing himself at Bush's feet, the Georgian president published a column in London's Financial Times that began by extolling the American New World Order System and its "commitment to the global expansion of democracy..." This obeisance was followed by the claim (minus any suggestion of irony) that the "Rose Revolution" was about "our right as a nation to determine our own path."

Despite Saakashvili claims to the contrary, however, what the "Rose Revolution" was really all about had nothing to do with an "independent Georgia" and everything to do with the establishment of Georgia as an American slave-state.

NGOs IN THE SERVICE
OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE

Concerning the way America uses NGOs ("non-governmental Organizations," which supposedly are not linked to any specific government) as part of its effort to impose slave-state status on the nations of the world - especially as this effort has related to Georgia - Grey and Volkov write:

"Bush administration officials have not bothered to conceal their delight over the outcome in Georgia [meaning the outcome of the 'Rose Revolution' in deposing Shevardnadze and installing Saakashvili]. Said one American diplomat: 'This is a textbook case of how to do things right'.

"These American officials know better than most. As the Wall Street Journal ... reported: 'The three politicians (Saakashvili, Burdzhanadze and Zhvania) are backed by a raft of nongovernmental organizations [controlled by the U.S., despite their designation as NGOs] that have sprung up since the fall of the Soviet Union. Many of the NGOs have been supported by American and other Western foundations, spawning a class of young, English-speaking intellectuals hungry for pro-Western reforms' [which is an easily discernable fact when one listens to the almost flawless English spoken by Saakashvili]."

Grey and Volkov elaborate:

"Chief among these NGOs is the Liberty Institute, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development's Eurasia Foundation as well as financier George Soros's Open Society Institute [which is a notorious and relatively shameless CIA front organization]. The Liberty Institute's 31-year-old co-founder, Giga Bokeria, took a Soros Foundation-funded tour ... of Serbia to learn how the Otpor, or 'Resistance', student opposition had ousted Milosevic following a disputed election in the autumn of 2000.

"Otpor activists visited Georgia, running courses that trained 1,000 students from all over the country in the tactics of Serbian-style 'revolution'. The result was the student group Kmara, which only months later would provide the manpower for Saakashvili's successful putsch ...

"Another ... [NGO] outfit involved in the ouster of Shevardnadze is the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a center of international intrigue and subversion set up under the Reagan administration and relying heavily on the services of the AFL-CIO trade union bureaucracy."

NOTE: The leadership of the AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions has long been co-opted by the American elites; they no longer serve the interests of the working-man, but instead are "in the pocket" of "management." The AFL-CIO has long worked hand-in-glove with the NED to subvert unionism in America's slave states, and it has done so under the banner of fighting communism and socialism.

Grey and Volkov continue:

"The Democratic Party wing of the NED, known as the National Democratic Institute, in the words of Wall Street Journal columnist George Melloan, 'helped introduce Mr. Saakashvili to the methods insurgents in Serbia used to depose Slobodan Milosevic'." Boris Berezovsky

The proof of Georgia's new status as an American slave-state utterly opposed to Russian interests in the oil fields of the Caspian Sea became apparent when just days after Saakashvili was installed as Georgia's leader, he permitted Russian business tycoon Boris Berezovsky to land in Tbilisi without hindrance.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Boris Berezovsky is touted in the West as a "persecuted" businessman bent on bringing democracy to Russia; but in reality he is anything but that.

After the collapse of the old Soviet Union, the Russians devised a very fair way of privatizing Russia's state-run businesses. The businesses were privatized and stock certificates in these new privatized corporations were distributed equally to Russia's citizens.

But the U.S. and its "toadies" in the West (particularly Germany) found a way to subvert the process. People such as Boris Berezovsky, Mikhail Friedman, Vladimir Gusinsky, Mikhail Khordorkovsky, Vladimir Potanin, Alexander Smolensky and Vladimir Vinogradov were loaded down with Western money and sent into Russia to buy up as much of the stock as possible in the interest of Western capitalism - which they did for pennies on the dollar because average people in Russia were starving as a result of Russia's sudden and very rude conversion from socialism to capitalism. They needed money not stock certificates to live on.

This process continued unchecked all through the presidency of Boris Yeltsin - and so much so that the wealth these new Russian oligarchs garnered for themselves in the interest of Western capitalism became obscene in the extreme. It was an obscenity that became ever more apparent to growing numbers of ordinary Russians: Their country was being bought up "lock, stock, and barrel" by financial interests subservient to the American New World Order System.

Putin was elected as president of Russia by ordinary Russians to put a stop to all this - which he has to a very large extent successfully done, wresting company after company out of the hands of Western interests and re-orienting them to the service of Russia's ordinary citizens. For example, take GazProm: Jason Bush and Anthony Bianco of Business Week (no less) write:

"No matter what the world thinks, the 800-pound gorilla of gas [i.e., GazProm] is central to Putin's popularity and Russia's new swagger on the world stage.

"At Midday in Novy Urengoy, the largest city in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region of northwest Siberia, the streets are empty. Nearly everyone is working in the nearby natural gas fields. This windblown outpost at the edge of the Arctic Circle is home to 110,000 people, most of whom are employed by OAO Gazprom, the world's largest gas producer.

"Outside it can be -40 or -50. Oleg Paulukov, a laconic southerner who moved to Novy Urengoy 15 years ago at the age of 18, says that 'Working for Gazprom is considered prestigious'. The company bills itself as the 'Pride of the Nation'.

"The Communist Party's state socialism dissolved nearly two decades ago, but Gazprom's corporate paternalism softens the rigors of life in a region the locals refer to simply as 'the North'. While the average Russian worker makes $350 a month, gas field technicians here take home up to $3,000. Roadside billboards proclaim 'Glory to the gas workers'! Nationwide, Gazprom has 330,000 employees.

"Workers in Novy Urengoy live with their families in apartment blocks painted shades of blue, pink, and yellow. Gazprom covers 97% of the cost of running 14 kindergartens, charging employees only 100 rubles, or $4, a month for child care. It provides interest-free housing loans, free medical care, and heavily subsidized overseas vacations."

And it isn't just GazProm that Putin has reformed in this manner.  NEEDLESS TO SAY, ALL THIS HAS NOT ENDEARED PUTIN TO WALL STREET; Indeed, he has been relentlessly portrayed as an "anti-democrat," an autocrat, and a tyrant. And for what? Putting the needs of ordinary Russians ahead of those who rule on Wall Street? One could only wish there were more Putins in America who put the interests of ordinary Americans ahead of those that are in charge of Wall Street.

Upon Berezovsky's arrival in Tbilisi, the Russian foreign ministry reminded Georgia of its responsibility regarding his international arrest warrant. He is wanted for fraud and embezzlement in Russia. But Berezovsky is considered a hero by the barons of Wall Street, so there's no chance that this warrant will ever be honored. Instead, Berezovsky has been granted asylum in Britain.

Berezovsky travels today under the alias of a British citizen, Elein Platon, and continues to be used by the West as a shill for Western interests in Russia - especially Western OIL interests.  He has acted as a funnel for money to rebel separatists in Chechnya who continue to fight for "Chechen independence" - meaning independence for Chechnya in the interest of Chevron Oil. THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF
DECEPTION GOING ON

One is left breathless by all this duplicity. It's hard for ordinary people to believe that the elites who govern the affairs of the United States are involved in this kind of shameless dishonesty in Georgia - the kind of naked fraud and convoluted double-dealing that has gone into the manipulation of recent events in Georgia economically, politically and militarily.

One is left reeling by it all; but should we really be surprised? - these are the same elites that "manufactured" evidence for "weapons of mass destruction" (WMDs) in Iraq when there was none, and contrived the presence of al-Qaeda in Iraq long before al-Qaeda ever established a presence there. These are the elites who pretended the U.S. was waging a "just" war against the Serbs in the former Yugoslavia when their real purpose was to prevent a socialist state from emerging there - a state dead-set against letting Western multi-national corporations into the country to strip it of its human and national resources. These are the elites who pretend to stand for the "rule of law" while making common cause with the drug lords of Kosovo; the same elites that killed JFK, RFK and Martin Luther King. DECEPTION is the "coin of the realm" insofar as the neo-conservatives who control the American New World Order System are concerned, and they laughingly (but quite seriously) refer to the deception they practice as "NOBLE LIES." And my how these "NOBLE LIES" have proliferated over the past twenty years, not only during the Reagan and Bush years, but also during the Clinton years.

NOTE: There are, of course, people today who believe that an Obama victory in November will rescue the United States from the deception that currently surrounds everything the government and the elites are up to; but at best, it will only slow things down a little - a fact which, nonetheless, still terrifies the elites, after all, "time is money." In connection with this, I must tell you that when I wrote the above article (i.e., "A Revolt against Elite Power Is in the Air, and the Elites Are Breathing Fire against It") I under-estimated the kind of hateful "game" that McCain and his cohorts were willing to play against Obama, charging Obama with being the antichrist, and carefully and very subtly race-baiting him wherever and whenever they can. LEO STRAUSS' PHILOSOPHY OF DECEPTON

The very real fact of the matter is, deception has become an "art form" in today's politics. It is practiced by both Republicans and Democrats alike - though Republicans are far better at it than are the Democrats, at least insofar as their ability to pull the wool over the eyes of Christians is concerned. And make no mistake about it, the LIES and DECEIT that are being perpetrated on the American public are not "happen-chance" or "coincidental;" rather they form a coherent philosophy of DISINFORMATION.

Jim Lobe, the Washington Bureau Chief of the international news agency Inter Press Service - referring to the neo-cons who surround George Bush and John McCain - explains:

"Many neo-conservatives like Paul Wolfowitz are disciples of a philosopher [Leo Strauss] WHO BELIEVED THAT THE ELITE SHOULD USE DECEPTION ... TO CONTROL THE MASSES. For example, What would you do if you wanted to topple Saddam Hussein, but your intelligence agencies couldn't find the evidence to justify a war?

"A follower of Leo Strauss may just hire the 'right' kind of men to get the job done - people with the intellect, acuity, and, if necessary, the political commitment, polemical skills, and, above all, the imagination to find the evidence that career intelligence officers could not detect. The 'right' man for Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz ... was Abram Shulsky, director of the Office of Special Plans (OSP) - an agency created specifically to find the evidence of WMDs and/or links with al Qaeda, piece it together, and clinch the case for the invasion of Iraq."

Lobe continues:

"Like Wolfowitz, Shulsky is a student of ... Leo Strauss ... Strauss taught at several major universities, including Wolfowitz and Shulsky's alma mater, the University of Chicago, before his death in 1973. [Again, please see our articles on the "neo-cons," "The Great Deception" and "The Neo-Conservatives."]

"Strauss is a popular figure among the neo-conservatives. Adherents of his ideas include prominent figures both within and outside the administration. They include Weekly Standard editor William Kristol; his father and indeed the godfather of the neo-conservative movement, Irving Kristol; the new Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, Stephen Cambone, a number of senior fellows at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI - home to former Defense Policy Board chairman Richard Perle and Lynne Cheney), and Gary Schmitt, the director of the influential Project for the New American Century (PNAC), which is chaired by Kristol the Younger. "Strauss' philosophy is hardly incidental to the strategy and mindset adopted by these men - as is obvious in Shulsky's 1999 essay titled 'Leo Strauss and the World of Intelligence' ... Shulsky and his co-author Schmitt criticize America's intelligence community for its failure to appreciate the duplicitous nature of the regimes it deals with, its susceptibility to social-science notions of proof, and its inability to cope with deliberate concealment. They argued that Strauss's idea of hidden meaning, alerts one to the possibility that POLITICAL LIFE MAY BE CLOSELY LINKED TO DECEPTION. INDEED, IT SUGGESTS THAT DECEPTION IS THE NORM IN POLITICAL LIFE ..."

Think about that! - deception as a normal part of political life? And this is the philosophy that underlies everything that Republicans are up to today? [And the same, of course, could pretty much be said of the Democrats as well.]

THE PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GREY

The truth is, DECEIT and DECEPTION are part and parcel of the way one governs today; but there is a price to be paid for those who practice such deceit, AND THERE IS A PRICE TO BE PAID BY THOSE WHO ALLOW THEMSELVES TO FALL VICTIM TO THIS DECEIT - for it cannot possibly be imagined that people in the United States could not find out what the elites who govern them are up to if they really wanted to. The reality is, they are WILLING victims of this deceit.

Sadly, Americans - and most particularly, American Christians - have made a FAUSTIAN deal with the elites who govern them, a deal that is reminiscent of the bargain that Oscar Wilde's character made with the Devil in the novel, A Portrait of Dorian Gray, a deal that requires their silence in exchange for support for their "moral agenda," a deal that is slowly but relentlessly turning them into MONSTERS.

The novel tells the story of a young man named Dorian Gray who is the subject of a painting by artist Basil Hallward. Basil is greatly impressed by Dorian's physical beauty and becomes strongly infatuated with him, believing that his beauty is responsible for a new mode in his art. Talking in Basil's garden, Dorian meets Lord Henry Wotton, a friend of Basil's, and becomes enthralled by Lord Henry's world view that espouses a new kind of hedonism. Lord Henry suggests that the only things worth pursuing in life are good looks and the fulfillment of one's basest lusts.

Realizing that one day his beauty will fade, Dorian cries out, wishing that the portrait Basil has painted of him would age rather than himself. Dorian's wish is fulfilled, and he subsequently plunges himself into a series of debauched acts. The portrait serves as a reminder of the effect each act has upon his soul, with each sin being displayed in the picture as an ugly disfigurement of his form, or by a sign of aging.

MAKING A BARGAIN WITH THE DEVIL

Dorian discovers an actress, Sibyl Vane, who performs Shakespeare in a dingy theatre. Dorian approaches her, and soon proposes marriage. Sibyl, who refers to him as "Prince Charming," rushes home to tell her skeptical mother and brother. Her protective brother, James, tells her that if "Prince Charming" ever harms her, he will kill him.

Dorian then invites Basil and Lord Henry to see Sibyl perform in Romeo and Juliet. Sibyl, whose only previous knowledge of love was through the love of theatre, suddenly loses her acting abilities through the experience of true love with Dorian, and performs very badly. Dorian rejects her, saying that her beauty was in her art, and if she could no longer act, he was no longer interested in her.

Once he returns home, Dorian notices that Basil's portrait of him has changed - the portrait's expression now bears a subtle sneer, and will age further with each additional sin he commits, while his own outward appearance will remain unchanged. He decides to reconcile with Sibyl, but Lord Henry arrives in the morning to say that Sibyl has killed herself by swallowing prussic acid.

Over the next eighteen years Dorian experiments with every vice imagined by man. One night, before he leaves for Paris, Basil arrives to question Dorian about the rumors of his indulgences. Dorian does not deny his debauchery. He takes Basil to the portrait which is revealed to have become as hideous as Dorian's sins. In a fit of anger, Dorian blames the artist for his fate, and stabs him to death. He then blackmails an old friend named Alan Campbell, who happens to be a chemist, into destroying the body.

Wishing to escape his crime, Dorian travels to an opium den. James Vane happens to be nearby, and hears someone refer to Dorian as "Prince Charming." He follows Dorian out and attempts to shoot him, but he is deceived when Dorian asks James to look at him in the light, saying that he is too young to have been involved with Sibyl eighteen years ago. James releases Dorian, but is approached by a woman from the opium den, who chastises him for not killing Dorian and tells him that Dorian has not aged for the past eighteen years.

A DECISION ONCE MADE
CANNOT NOW BE "UNMADE"

While at dinner one night, Dorian sees Sibyl Vane's brother stalking the grounds and fears for his life. However, during a game-shooting party the next day James is accidentally shot and killed by one of the hunters. After returning to London, Dorian informs Lord Henry that he will be good from now on, and has started by not breaking the heart of his latest innocent conquest, a vicar's daughter in a country town, named Hetty Merton.

At his apartment, he wonders if the portrait has begun to change back, losing its senile, sinful appearance, now that he has changed his immoral ways. He unveils the portrait to find that it has become worse. Seeing this he begins to question the motives behind his act of "mercy," whether it was merely vanity, curiosity, or the quest for new emotional excess.

Deciding that only a full confession would truly absolve him, but lacking any guilt and fearing the consequences, he decides to destroy the last vestige of his conscience. In a fit of rage, he picks up the knife that killed Basil Hallward, and plunges it into the painting. Hearing his cry from inside the locked room, his servants send for the police, who find Dorian's body, suddenly aged, withered, and horrible, beside the portrait, which has reverted to its original beautiful form; it is only through the rings on his hand that the corpse can be identified.

THERE'S NO GOING BACK ON A
BARGAIN MADE WITH THE DEVIL

What Gray finds out is that there is no going back on the bargain he has made with the Devil. And this may be exactly what Christians will find out some day with regard to the bargain they have made with the American New World Order System - pretending not to see what America is really up to in the world; pretending not to see the HORROR America is visiting on the nations and peoples of the earth; pretending not to see the bargain the American church has made with the business leaders of the country. Christians may find that in refusing to obey Christ insofar as breaking their connection with this abomination (Rev. 18:4) - specifically, the American new World Order System - they have in essence "FALLEN AWAY" from the faith in such a complete and total manner that there is no going back, just as there was no way for Dorian Gray; no chance for them now to reform themselves. It's not without reason that the Bible says:

"For it is IMPOSSIBLE for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

"And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

"If they shall FALL AWAY, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6)

The fact is, brothers and sisters, if you continue to pretend that you don't see what's happening, SOMEDAY YOU ACTUALLY WON'T SEE, so that it will be said of you:

"This people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart ... and I should heal them." GOING DOWN TO THE
CHAMBERS OF DEATH

Brothers and sisters: I somberly warn you, as I have done so many times in the past, if you remain connected to the American New World Order System, if you remain a part of the Faustian deal the church has made with the leaders of this devilish system - either directly or indirectly, actively or passively, no matter - YOU will be changed; YOU will be transformed; remade into something hideous and ugly, though you will probably be the last one to recognize what's happening to you.

You are making a big mistake in "playing around" with this seductress - "HER HOUSE IS THE WAY TO HELL, GOING DOWN TO THE CHAMBERS OF DEATH." (Proverbs 7:4-27) It's not without reason that the Bible says that Babylon (i.e., the United States) has -

"... become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." (Rev. 18:2)

YOU CANNOT WITHSTAND
THE DECEIT OF BABYLON

Brothers and sisters, listen to me here! - Are you so presumptuous that you really think that you can "play" (as it were) with the leaders of the American New World Order System and the leaders of the church that justifies that system and not get burned? Evil people who -

"... do wickedly ... and corrupt by flatteries ..." (Dan. 11:32)

If you do, you are a FOOL! There is simply too much deceit here; too much fraud and cheating; too much dissimulation and trickery. No normal person can stay up with it.

COME ON, NOW! CAN ANY ORDINARY, SANE PERSON STAY UP WITH THE FRAUD THAT'S GOING ON NOW IN THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA? All the double-dealing! All the pretensions? Who can wade through it all?

The very real fact of the matter is, the people involved in what's occurring today in Georgia are "deceivers and flatterers" of whom the Bible says,

"Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used DECEIT; the poison of asps is under their lips ..." (Rom. 3:13)

"They do wickedly ... and corrupt by flatteries" - and isn't that what the U.S. elites are up to today? OR how else do you understand what the elitist Edward Bernays meant when he said that "average people" in the United States must be "consciously and intelligently MANIPULATED?" And you think you can stand up to this? That you can remain untouched?

BUT I NEVER MET ANY IN 1939 ...

When Hitler started out as Chancellor in Germany in 1933, one-third of the church went over to him immediately; one-third remained undecided as to what to do; and one-third opposed him. But by the time the war broke out in September 1939 (six years later), the entire church had gone over to Hitler. As German Pastor Hans Asmussen remarked after the war,

"Many German Christians say today that they opposed Hitler; BUT I NEVER MET ANY IN 1939!"

The sad fact of the matter is, PEOPLE UNDERESTIMATE THEIR SUSCEPTIBILITY TO THE PROPAGANDA THAT IS ROUTINELY CHURNED OUT BY THE SHILLS (both its religious shills and its corporate shills) OF TODAY'S AMERICAN NEW WORLD ORDER SYSTEM - AND THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT YOU GO TO CHURCH. You can drop out of the "organized church" in America and NEVER darken its door again, and you would still be transformed - like Dorian Grey - into a MONSTER.

THE REASON I USE
THE EXAMPLES I DO

It is not without reason that I have from time to time touched upon what has happened to my erstwhile colleagues who left the ministry because they refused to countenance any thought about leaving Babylon (meaning the United States) - only the "organized" church; and only after what they call the "spirit" prompts them - which really means, when they feel comfortable in doing so (and their wives or husbands say it's okay). [As if God's Spirit within you would stand in contradiction to the written Word of God which COMMANDS you to "COME OUT" (Rev. 18:4).]

Yes! - I tell you the truth: My old colleagues have been changed, and so will you if you too refuse to take seriously God's command here. And believe me, they really have been changed! They have been transformed! They have become different people! And if it could happen to them, believe me, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU! [I urge you to see our article, "Come Out of Her."]

The apostle Jude wrote to his disciples some two thousand years ago on the question of whether or not Christians - Christians like you - can be turned aside from the faith; he wrote:

"I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, HAVING SAVED THE PEOPLE out of the land of Egypt, afterward DESTROYED THEM that believed not." [i.e., who refused to obey God out of a spirit of unbelief]. (Jude 1:5)

And who is it here that Jude "is putting in remembrance?" Obviously, those to whom he is speaking - his Christian audience! Come on now! - why would he tell Christians to beware of what happened to the Israelites hundreds and hundreds of years before, unless what happened to those unfortunates could happen to them? NO! - Jude is clearly speaking to the church, to "saved Christians;" and he is saying, Don't let what happened to the Israelites so many years ago happen to you today.

Moreover, the fact that he is speaking to "born-again" Christians is made even clearer in his opening statement:

"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, TO THEM THAT ARE SANCTIFIED BY GOD THE FATHER, and PRESERVED IN JESUS CHRIST ..." (Jude 1:1).

These are the people Jude is addressing in Jude 1:1. Again, this suggests rather strongly that the same thing that happened to the Israelites can happen to Christians; that such things can happen to YOU. Come on now! - isn't that clearly what is being said here?

IT'S A DANGEROUS THING TO DISOBEY GOD

It's for this reason that I counsel you to be very wary of those who say you don't have to obey God's holy COMMAND to "COME OUT" of Babylon. These are people who disobey God, and "... have pleasure in them ..." that join them in their disobedience (Rom. 1:32); people who cannot themselves break away from "the abundance of her (Babylon's) delicacies" (Rev. 18:3), and take pleasure in hindering others who want to do so - like Alexander and Hymaneous. These are the people the Bible says have -

"... gone in the way of Cain, and run greedily after the error of Balaam for reward [i.e., money], and perished in the gainsaying of Core. (Jude 1:11)

Cain is an example of the religious man who says he believes in God, but refuses to act PROPERLY on his belief; the "error of Balaam" is the attempt by man to justify the accumulation of wealth by a sham resort to the Scriptures; Core (Korah) is a reference to those believers who challenge the clear teaching of the Word of God, who "go with the flow" and are prone to take the easy way out of a situation - and one would do well to take special note of Korah's intrigue: Korah challenged Moses (who was standing for the clear Word of God) by saying,

"Ye (meaning Moses) take too much upon yourself, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourself above the congregation of the LORD?" (Num. 16:3) [i.e., Moses, you think too highly of yourself; no one else believes what you're saying; no one else is doing what you're doing. You've taken us out into the wilderness to die; look around you at those who oppose you; they are as much guided by the Lord as you are - and what's more, unlike you, they are "famous in the congregation, men of renown." (Num. 16:2)]

Brothers and sisters, without trying to take too much on myself, you have no idea how often such charges have been laid against me - especially by people like Alexander and Hymaneous. These are the people -

" Who change the truth of God into a lie ..." (Rom. 1:25)

THE END IS UPON US

Dear saints of God, the end really is upon us. It's time for us all to begin taking the Prophetic Scriptures very, very seriously! The Scriptures warn us that we should not bury our heads in the sand and think that everything will be okay. The Bible says that you should not allow the events of the "end of days" to -

"... overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." (I Thess. 5:4-6)

Jesus said,

"... whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

"And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (Matt. 7:24-27)

God forbid that you should become like "One that heareth these sayings of mine [i.e., Christ's], and doeth them not."
