We urge you to pay close attention to this article; the very real fact of the matter is, the American elites are in a panic – a panic emanating out of the belief that average Americans may soon be coming after them with pitchforks; that, as a consequence, they are in REAL danger of being swept away. As a result – and contrary to popular opinion – the elites have been bending every effort to pump money into the economy, hoping against hope that it will reach into the pockets of the hurting masses on Main Street. But the MONSTER they have created – that is to say, the GREED that is inherent in the system they have built – is "eating up" all the money they have been throwing at the problem before that money can reach average Americans. It's not that the elites care for average Americans – they do not; it's just that they fear they are dangerously close to suffering the same fate the French elite suffered as a result of the French Revolution.

IT IS PRECISELY IN CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS THESE THAT TYRANTS SUCH AS NAPOLEON AND HITLER ARE ABLE TO STEP IN AND SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY TO INSTALL A DICTATORSHIP - WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT NAPOLEON DID IN 1792, AND HITLER DID IN 1933. [The fact that the elites in America came very, very close to being swept away during the Great Depression is made plain in our article, "A Revolt against Elite Power Is in the Air, And the Elites Are Breathing Fire against It."]

INTRODUCTION

In a remarkable article entitled "Goldman Sachs with Pistols," Alice Schroeder reveals the increasing angst of the super-rich regarding the attitude of average Americans toward them; she writes:

"A banker told a friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against them."

She continues:

Lloyd Blankfein, CEO: "Goldman-Sachs is about doing God's work."

"I called Goldman Sachs spokesman Lucas van Praag to ask whether it's true that Goldman partners feel they need handguns to protect themselves from the angry proletariat. He didn't call me back. The New York Police Department has told me that "as a preliminary matter, it appears that some of the records you requested may be in the possession of this department" after I asked for information on approved handgun permits for bankers. The NYPD also said it will be a while before it can name names.

"While we wait, Goldman has wrapped itself in the flag of Warren Buffett, with whom it will jointly donate $500 million ... [to the hungry masses], part of an effort to burnish its image ... Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein also reversed himself after having previously called Goldman's greed 'God's work', and apologized earlier this month for having participated in things that were 'clearly wrong'.

"Has it really come to this? Imagine what emotions must be billowing through the halls of Goldman Sachs to provoke the firm into an apology. Talk that Goldman bankers might have armed themselves in self-defense would sound ludicrous, were it not so apt a metaphor for the way that the most successful people on Wall Street have become a target for public rage."

Inside Goldman Sachs, America's most successful, cynical, envied, despised, and (in its view, anyway) misunderstood engine of capitalism. One financial commentator who writes for New York Magazine and who calls himself "Tenacious G" opines: "Thirty floors up in the black-tinted box that is Goldman Sachs' headquarters on 85 Broad Street, THERE IS A WHIFF OF PANIC IN THE AIR. The Goldman of legend, pillar of the free market, breeder of super-citizens, object of envy and awe has vanished. Ever since the bank crossed paths with U.S. taxpayers, getting saved with at least $10 billion in government aid last year and then parlaying that into billions in profits in 2009, the firm has been seen as the ugly essence of capitalism at its most cynical by Washington, by the public, by the financial press, even by some of its clients. Stalwart voices of Wall Street like the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal have criticized the firm's undue influence on government and its ruthless pursuit of risky profits. Venom is flowing from more unlikely quarters as well: A recent Rolling Stone article called Goldman a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity and accused it of rigging every major market bubble since the Great Depression."

Schroeder goes on to say that many of the super-rich are trying to hide from the public; she describes what Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein has been doing:

"Blankfein keeps a summer home near the Hamptons, where unrestricted public access would put him at risk if the angry mobs rose up and marched to the East End of Long Island.

"He tried to buy a house elsewhere without attracting attention as the financial crisis unfolded in 2007, a move that was foiled by the New York Post. Then, Blankfein got permission from the local authorities to install a security gate at his house two months before Bear Stearns Cos. collapsed.

"This is the kind of foresight that Goldman Sachs is justly famous for. Blankfein somehow anticipated the persecution complex his fellow bankers would soon suffer."

And make no mistake about it: There is very good reason for Blankfein and his cohorts to be worried. Kate Randall reports on the misery of the masses:

"A protracted cold spell has eased somewhat, but wide areas of the US—from the Northern Plains to the East Coast and stretching to the South—were bracing for more winter weather and freezing temperatures ... The cold snap has spelled misery for many, especially in areas unaccustomed and ill-prepared for the frigid conditions. The freezing weather has placed in sharp relief the devastating social impact of mass unemployment, growing poverty and the refusal of the government to provide any serious relief for the victims of the economic crisis."

Randall goes on to say that the arctic blast has been blamed for a least seven confirmed deaths. The number is likely far higher, and confirmed deaths can be expected to climb as packed shelters turn away people seeking refuge, and communities struggle to provide a warm place for the growing ranks of the homeless.

Other households may have a roof over their heads, but have had their utilities shut off due to non-payment. The use of space heaters, fires, candles and other unsafe sources of heating and electricity leaves families vulnerable to house fires. Three people died in Detroit when their home caught fire. It is believed the house—without gas or electrical service in below-zero temperatures—was being heated by a space heater. In Georgia, six families have lost their homes to fires, all of them trying to heat their houses with space heaters. The families narrowly escaped death.

At least four cold-related deaths were reported in Tennessee. Three people were found dead in Memphis within a 24-hour period. Leroy Jones, 68, was found frozen to death in his home in South Memphis. In Nashville, Tennessee, John Anderson, was found dead outside his home. His case exposes the plight of millions of elderly Americans across the US living alone with serious medical conditions and with little or no social assistance.

GROWING GAP BETWEEN RICH & AVERAGE AMERICANS

All this gives evidence to the conditions that growing numbers of Americans are suffering in as the Depression / Recession continues to spread – if not on Wall Street and among the super-rich, than certainly on Main Street and among growing numbers of average Americans who have lost their jobs.

The chart to the left shows average inflation-adjusted incomes of the poorest 20%, middle 60%, and top 1% of households since the 1970s. The incomes include government transfers and subtract taxes. For the bulk of American households, incomes have increased minimally. For those at the top, by contrast, they have soared. The graph does a good job of conveying the key aspect of the rise in income inequality over the past generation: The dramatic increase in incomes for households at the very top. In 1979 household income among those in the top 1% averaged $325,000 (in 2005 dollars). By 2005 that had increased to nearly $1.1 million.

The explosive nature of America's growing income gap between the super-rich and average Americans can be easily seen in the graph below. The graph reads:

"A half-century ago, thoughtful Americans considered the Gilded Age ancient history. By the 1950s, robber baron fortunes no longer dominated – or dazzled – America's political and economic landscape. But that's all changed. The awesomely affluent haven't just returned; today they cast an even greater shadow. The greater the gap between the rich and everyone else, THE MORE DANGEROUSLY UNSTABLE ECONOMIES BECOME."

"In 1928, a year before the U.S. economy nose-dived into depression, the top one-hundredth of 1 percent of U.S. families averaged 892 times more income than families in the bottom 90 percent. In 1980, the last pre-Reagan year, families in the bottom 90 percent averaged $30,446 in income, after adjusting for inflation, $72 more than the $30,374 comparable families earned in 2006. The top 0.01 in 1980 took home an average of $5.4 million, less than one-fifth the $29.6 million average income of the super-rich in 2006. In 2006 the top 0.01 percent averaged 976 times more than America's bottom 90 percent."

THE MIDDLE CLASS IS BECOMING REVOLUTIONARY

Concerning all this, English economist Joel Hirschhorn writes:

"Face the ugly truth. Don't get fooled by the stock market ... The mistreated middle class is becoming revolutionary ... UNJUSTIFIED AND MOUNTING ECONOMIC INEQUALITY IS PLANTING THE SEEDS FOR ... ECONOMIC CONFLICT." [Again, this is not the first time that average Americans have become revolutionary; we urge you to see our article, "A Revolt against Elite Power Is in the Air, And the Elites Are Breathing Fire against It."]

Hirschhorn, citing a report from the British Defense Ministry (of all places), goes on to say:

"Here is what the new report from the UK Defense Ministry's Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre warns, 'THE MIDDLE CLASSES COULD BECOME A REVOLUTIONARY CLASS. The growing gap between themselves and a small number of highly visible super-rich individuals is fueling disillusion ... [and they might soon] unite ... to shape [the economy] in their own class interest'."

Hirschhorn continues:

"Consider the wisdom of economist John Maynard Keynes: The rich are tolerable only so long as their gains appear to bear some relation to roughly what they have contributed to society. Think of it as proportional and justified economic success. This can be tolerated by poor and middle class people if they believe the economic system is fair and properly rewards those who work harder or have better capabilities. But truly obscene economic rewards angers people. When most prosperity and wealth is unfairly channeled to relatively few Upper Class people, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL FUMING, RESENTFUL PEOPLE IN THE LOWER CLASS DECIDE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND REVOLT.

"A ton of data demonstrate how crazy our economic system has become where a relatively few receive astronomical gains that no rational person could see as justified. One study tracked down home ownership data for 488 CEOs in the S&P 500 Index set of companies. The typical home of the CEOs has 12 rooms, sits on 5.37 acres, and carries a $3.1 million price-tag. Companies big enough to rate S&P 500 status hiked their median CEO pay by 23.78 percent in 2006 to $14.8 million. In comparison, U.S. worker weekly wages rose just 3.5 percent in 2006."

Hirschhorn goes on to report that –

"Despite what you hear about the sagging housing market and the many people facing foreclosure, business at the top end of the U.S. housing market is booming. Sales of homes in the $5 million-and-up price range rose 11 percent last year, reports the Dallas-based Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. CEOs are getting away with economic murder. Bob Nardelli, the CEO who departed Home Depot early this year, had an exit package worth $210 million. IBM CEO Sam Palmisano took home $18.8 million in 2006 and will receive $34.9 million in deferred pay and $33.1 million in retirement benefits when he leaves IBM. Even more extreme is the case of Occidental Petroleum CEO Ray Irani. The interest income alone on the $124 million that ended the year in Irani's deferred-pay account totaled $679,396. The Los Angeles Times estimated Irani's total payoff for 2006 at $460 million. Leslie Blodgett, the top exec at cosmetics giant Bare Escentuals, collected $118.9 million in 2006, with most of that coming from the $117.7 million she cleared cashing out stock options. She received 4 million additional stock options before 2006 ended."

Hirschhorn concludes;

"What the future holds: Lower Class economic slaves fighting to survive in a medieval, ugly and bleak world that so many science fiction stories have portrayed. In that hell their best option will be to rise up AND REVOLT AGAINST THE RICH AND POWERFUL UPPER CLASS."

TRAPPED BY THE SYSTEM
THEY HAVE CREATED

As we have suggested, it would, of course, be in the interest of the super-rich to mitigate this income inequality to some degree; the problem for America's super-rich, however, is this: INCOME INEQUALITY IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE SYSTEM – AND WE SPEAK SPECIFICALLY HERE OF THE AMERICAN NEW WORLD ORDER SYSTEM – THEY HAVE CREATED; IT IS BUILT INTO THEIR SYSTEM; there is, as a result, very little they can do to moderate the growing misery of average Americans.

NOTE: It is precisely here that we should take note of the mysterious lyric pronounced by the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse:

"A measure of wheat for a penny [literally - denarius, a Greek coin which represented a WHOLE DAYS wages], and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine." (Rev. 6:6)

The Third Horseman of the Apocalypse.

The meaning of this lyric is that the condition of man during this era (i.e., the "end of days") will be reduced to such that he will have to labor a whole day simply to buy a loaf of bread or three measures of barley. But the second part of the lyric (i.e., "... and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine ...") means that the "hard times" of this period will not extend to the elites. This is the common interpretation - the one subscribed to by Ryrie, Pentecost, Ironside, Gaebelein, etc.

Clearly, the dynamic unleashed by the American elites (see above) is the dynamic expressed in this lyric – AND IT SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS DYNAMIC WILL NOT BE STOPPED – BUT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE TRIBULATION PERIOD. EXPLAINING THE INHERENT INEQUALITY OF
THE AMERICAN NEW WORLD ORDER SYSTEM

As we explained several years ago in our article, "The Third World as a Model for the New World Order:"

"For the past several decades, a New World Order has been emerging. It is a globe-girdling "corporate-terrorist" state based on the model the CIA and United Fruit Corporation pioneered in Guatemala in the early part of the last century (i.e., the 1900s). The model calls for most of the nations of the world to be divided into two parts - an elite class of political / economic "managers," which in most countries approximates about 20 percent of the population, and a "worker-serf" class, which makes up the remaining 80 percent of the population. [United Fruit sold its properties in Guatemala to Del Monte in 1972 for $20 million. Under its new name of Chiquita Brands, it still maintains its empire in Central America.]

"The 'managers' rule the country at the behest and in the interest of American corporate power, which itself is sustained by the machinations and intrigues of the CIA, which in turn is backed up by the guns of the American military. It is an Orwellian realm of 'Newspeak' in which there is very little connection between perception and reality; where 'freedom' means 'slavery'; and 'democracy' means rule of the many by the few in the interest of corporate profits ... For the eighty percent of the population which falls into the 'worker-serf' category, it is a notably cruel and utterly despotic system. It's held together by police forces given to fascist-like brutality, torture, terror, and, on extreme occasions, the use of death squads ..." [Please see our movie, "GREED IS GOOD."]

Whipping a Slave, Virginia, 1850s "The Last Daughter," shows a white man whipping a black woman while she holds onto her child. This illustration depicts a scene in which the author of this anti-slavery novel describes how slave children were sold away from their mothers who were past child bearing. In this case, a mother, all of whose children had been sold away, was unwilling to part with her only remaining child; while the girl clung to her mother's dress, the new master whipped the mother, telling her to hold her "cursed chatter" (p.94). THE GROSS INCOME INEQUALITY ENGENDERED BY THIS SYSTEM IS NOW BEGINNING TO TAKE HOLD ON POPULATIONS IN COUNTRIES THAT HAVE HITHERTO NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO IT: NAMELY, THE POPULATIONS OF THE FIRST TIER OF AMERICA'S CLIENT-STATE SYSTEM (England, Germany, France, Korea, Japan, etc.) AND ALSO THE POPULATION IN THE "HOME COUNTRY" OF THE EMPIRE ITSELF: AMERICA. THE SUPER-RICH ARE NO LONGER
IN CONTROL OF THE DYNAMIC

Now in all of this – and, again, as surprising as it might seem - one should be very clear here: Unleashing the "rich / poor dynamic" (i.e., globalization in the form of "The Washington Consensus") in the American homeland is NOT something for which the American elites planned.

NONETHELESS, THE DYNAMIC THEY UNLEASHED ON THE WORLD HAS SLIPPED THEIR CONTROL (as the lyric uttered by the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse suggests) and it is now eating away on the populist base upon which they depend: The American people, and to a lesser degree, on the populations of the first tier of America's client-states; specifically, the E.U., Japan, Canada, Australia, Korea, etc. SHOULD THE ELITES LOSE THE SUPPORT (OR AT LEAST CONTROL) OF THESE POPULATIONS – AND MOST ESPECIALLY, THE ONE IN NORTH AMERICA – THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THEY WILL FACE THE SAME FATE THE SO-CALLED "FRENCH MOB" VISITED ON THE FRENCH ARISTOCRACY IN 1789.

And it's not as if the turmoil in the American homeland against the elites has gone unnoticed in the outside world: One well-known Russian commentator, Professor Igor Panarin, a well-known academician and political scientist, predicts –

"The United States will erupt into civil war once the full extent of the rape and pillaging of these peoples by their banks and government becomes known to them." [Please see our article, "The Coming Bubba Revolution."]

AS SURPRISING AS IT SOUNDS ...

The American economy: Collapsing like the great zeppelin Hindenburg.

As we suggested above, the elites have desperately and very genuinely been trying to limit the scope of what they have wrought in their "globalization schemes" insofar as the American population is concerned. Again, it isn't as if they have any real concern for the American people or their counterparts in Western Europe, Canada, Japan, etc., as it is that they are genuinely beginning to fear the WRATH OF THE MOB – and it is precisely because of this that Goldman Sachs and the other mavens of Wall Street have desperately and belatedly embarked upon a series of PR schemes to burnish their images. To this end, the Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein has established a fund for small businesses designed to divert attention from the $17bn bonus packages he's paying to his subordinates – the same ones who helped drive the economy, Zeppelin-like, into the ground.

Blankfein went on to announce that his company would give $100m per year to the fund. In making this gesture, Blankfein announced:

"We are going to fulfill our commitment and our obligation to the world to be good allocators of capital and make sure we're doing the right thing, making sure we're helping the country pull out of recession, grow businesses that help generate jobs."

THIS GESTURE IS BEYOND MOCKING ...

These kinds of gestures by the super-rich, however, are being mocked by average Americans. For example, the on-line financial magazine Gawker reported:

"This [gesture] is beyond mocking."

Then there is the story of how Blankfein has dropped his salary 98% at Goldman Sachs, to which another commentator said:

"Oh please. This story about the Goldman CEO's salary dropping 98% is incredibly misleading. The first thought that crossed my mind was "how much did he make in 2007" when he was still cashing in on selling worthless (to everyone except AIG) trash? One of the missing issues remains the past payments and no matter how much the businesses take off the books, the bonuses remain untouched. Somehow we're supposed to sympathize or be in awe that Goldman CEO Blankfein allowed his compensation to fall to a paltry $1.11 million. Stout fellow! Hang in there!"

Once again, what all of this clearly indicates is that the American elites have lost the confidence of average Americans – and so much so they are now, as we have just indicated, in grave danger. The question that fairly begs to be asked is this: Will the elites be able to mitigate the worst effects of the current recession / depression in time to re-right the American political system? – and the answer seems to be NO!  That's what growing numbers of people are beginning to believe.

For example, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, writing in Forbes Magazine, says:

"The large-scale government intervention in the economy is going to end badly."

Paul goes on to say:

"Any number of pundits claim that we have now passed the worst of the recession. Green shoots of recovery are supposedly popping up all around the country, and the economy is expected to resume growing soon at an annual rate of 3% to 4%. Many of these are the same people who insisted that the economy would continue growing last year, even while it was clear that we were already in the beginning stages of a recession. [Please see our article, "Presenting a Lie as the Truth."]

Paul continues:

"A FALSE RECOVERY IS UNDERWAY. I am reminded of the outlook in 1930, when the experts were certain that the worst of the Depression was over and that recovery was just around the corner. The economy and stock market seemed to be recovering, and there was optimism that the recession, like many of those before it, would be over in a year or less. Instead ... the depression worsened ... and the Dow Jones industrial average did not recover to 1929 levels until 1954."

Paul says that this is precisely what is likely to happen today; he writes:

"WHAT IS ... LIKELY TO HAPPEN IS A REPEAT OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION."

Paul goes on to say:

"Can anyone realistically argue that a few small upticks in a handful of economic indicators are a sign that the recession is over? We might have up to a year or so of an economy growing just slightly above stagnation, followed by [another crash] ... WORSE THAN ANYTHING WE HAVE SEEN. As the housing market fails to return to any sense of normalcy, commercial real estate begins to collapse and manufacturers produce goods that cannot be purchased by debt-strapped consumers, the economy will falter."

ONCE THE PUBLIC GETS A TASTE OF WHAT'S
HAPPENING, THERE WILL BE NO STOPPING THE PANIC

Mac Salvo of Market Oracle warns:

"Once the public gets a taste of [what's actually been happening], THERE WILL BE NO STOPPING THE PANIC ...

"When the panic does start, it may be an event perceived to be too-small-to-matter, like a Dubai that exposes several larger global players, which leads to a domino effect that will echo through the entire financial markets. It may start with debt defaults in an Euro Zone country like Greece or Hungary, or maybe with commercial real estate or Wave Two of the Mortgage Meltdown in the US. IT COULD BE A GEO-POLITICAL EVENT WITH IRAN AND ISRAEL, or a terrorist attack on a Saudi Arabian pipeline. "Right now, the world is on edge. The citizens of the US, as well as the global public don't really know who to trust to tell them the truth. They are on alert, consciously or subconsciously, and if they perceive even a small threat, the fight-or-flight system will be activated.

"Some say that a year ago we faced economic disaster on a massive scale. In one year, governments around the world have printed money, and done little else, except to provide daily lip service and commentary. The contagion has been lying dormant and will become an epidemic.

"No bailout will stop it."

INCREASING EVIDENCE POINTING
TO A COUP BY THE SUPER-RICH

Once the super-rich lose the support of the so-called "masses" – that is to say, when they are no longer able to manipulate a democratic system in their favor – there is only one thing they can do: Seize power in a coup and set up a despotism. [Again, we urge you to see our article, "A Revolt against Elite Power Is in the Air, And the Elites Are Breathing Fire against It."]

Prof. Michael Parenti of Yale calls democracy as it is now practiced in America a "Government within a Government;" he writes:

"... 'the symbolic political system centered around electoral and representative activities including party conflicts, voter turnout, political personalities, public pronouncements, official role-playing and certain ambiguous presentations of some of the public issues which bestir presidents, governors, mayors and their respective legislatures ...' has been made all but meaningless, and a new system of elite power has taken hold of the country - what I call the substantive political system – '... involving multi-billion dollar contracts, tax write-offs, protections, rebates, grants, loss compensations, subsidies, leases, giveaways and the whole vast process of budgeting, legislating, advising, regulating, protecting and servicing major producer interest - now bending or ignoring the law on behalf of the powerful, now applying it with the full punitive vigor against heretics and 'troublemakers'."

UNFORTUNATELY – AT LEAST FOR THE SUPER-RICH – AVERAGE AMERICANS ARE BEGINNING TO CATCH ON TO HOW THE ELITES HAVE BEEN RIGGING THE SYSTEM IN THEIR FAVOR. AS A RESULT, THEY ARE BEING FORCED TO TAKE A DIFFERENT AND MUCH MORE BRUTAL ATTITUDE TOWARD AVERAGE AMERICANS IF THEY ARE TO MAINTAIN THEMSELVES IN POWER. This brings us at last to the strange "goings-on" relating to Northwest Flight 253 and the so-called "Underwear Bomber."

"The general outlines of the Northwest bombing attempt and the 9/11 attacks are startlingly similar. One might even say that what is involved is a modus operandi. In both cases, those alleged to have carried out the actions had been the subject of US intelligence investigations and surveillance, and had been allowed to enter the country and board flights under conditions that would normally have set off multiple security alarms.

"Both then and now, the government and the media expect the public to accept that all that was involved was mistakes. But why should anyone assume that the failure to act on the extensive intelligence leading to Abdulmutallab involved merely 'innocent' mistakes—and not something far more sinister?

"If this episode is to be examined seriously, the question must be asked: What would have happened had Northwest Flight 253 been destroyed? Van Auken continues:

"There is no question but that such a catastrophe would have had immense repercussions both internationally and within the United States. It would have seriously destabilized the Obama administration, politically strengthened the most extreme right-wing sections of the ruling class, and cleared the way for an even more massive expansion of military-intelligence operations overseas and a drastic curtailing of democratic rights at home. [Which would have meant the extension of the Police-State apparatus put in place by the Bush Administration; please see our article, "The Watchers Are Watching You."]

"Even the failed attempt has touched off a firestorm of criticism by the Republican right of the Obama administration's supposed laxity in the face of terrorism."

This is the kind of democracy Dick Cheney's "Secret Government" is promoting; please see our article, "The Evil in Our Midst."

Van Auken goes on to say:

"This found its distilled expression in a statement released Wednesday by former Vice President Dick Cheney. 'We are at war, and when President Obama pretends we aren't, it makes us less safe', said Cheney. The former vice president and de facto leader of the 'war on terror' in the Bush administration condemned Obama for proposing to close down the Guantánamo prison camp and try some of those held there in normal federal courts. He also denounced the US president for jettisoning the words 'war on terror' in describing Washington's continuing wars abroad and attacks on democratic rights at home.

"The statements from Cheney—who was at the center of a secret government for eight years, has the closest ties to the military-intelligence apparatus, and is a ruthless advocate of torture, assassinations and a sweeping curtailment of democratic rights—shed light on the political calculations THAT MAY HAVE ENCOURAGED ELEMENTS IN THE CIA AND RELATED AGENCIES TO KEEP THE "DOTS" SEPARATED AND, THEREBY, FACILITATE A TERRORIST ACTION."

We URGE you to see our article on the "Secret Government" to which Van Auken and Parenti are alluding; the very "Secret Government" that Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Seymour Hirsh described in The New Yorker Magazine as he probed the strange "happenings" of Vice President Dick Cheney during the Bush Administration – "The Evil in Our Midst."

DICK CHENEY AS THE "BLOODY MONK" "Killing for the joy of it is wrong; but killing because it is necessary to fight against an anti-Christ system ... is not only right, but the duty of every Christian." The words of one Death Squad Member in Honduras

What Hersh discovered about the "goings-on" of Dick Cheney in the White House should send shivers down the spines of all those American Christians who have tied themselves to the machinations of those who are connected to America's right-wing - which is about every evangelical Christian in the country.

Hersh reports that Cheney had his own SS-style political assassination unit that reported directly to him - AND WHEN ONE LOOKS CLOSELY AT THIS PARTICULAR UNIT, ONE CANNOT HELP BUT BE SHOCKED BY THE PERVASIVE PRESENCE OF CHRISTIANS IN IT (and we speak here of Task Force 121 and General Boykin, which is precisely the unit Hersh pointed at in his report of March 11, 2009).  [Please see our article, "The Generals' Revolt against the Obama Presidency."]

The presence of so many Christians in what Cheney has been up to is so deep and pervasive that Christians - if they are honest with themselves - are forced to admit with Pogo:

 "WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US!"

THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGE AFOOT

Van Auken's conclusions regarding the strange "goings-on" surrounding Flight # 253 are echoed by Tom Burghardt of Global Research in Canada; Burghardt writes:

"The closer one looks at the available evidence surrounding the strange case of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the more sinister alleged "intelligence failures" become. As this story unfolds it is becoming abundantly clear that U.S. security officials had far more information on the would-be lap bomber than we've been told.

"The London Observer revealed January 3 that the British secret state had Abdulmutallab on their radar for several years and that he had become "politically involved" with "extremist networks" while a student at University College London, where he served as president of the Islamic Society."

Burghardt continues:

"Examining 'e-mail and text traffic', security officers claim to have belatedly discovered that 'he has been in contact with jihadists from across the world' since 2007. Indeed, The Sunday Times disclosed that the 23-year-old terrorism suspect was 'reaching out to extremists whom MI5 had under surveillance'. The officials said that Abdulmutallab was 'starting out on a journey in Britain' that culminated with last week's attempt to destroy Flight 253.

"It is claimed by unnamed 'British officials' that 'none of this information was passed' to their American counterparts; on the face of it, this appears to be a rank mendacity. The Sunday Times further reported that security officials have 'now passed a file' to American counterterrorism officers that show 'his repeated contacts with MI5 targets who were subject to phone taps, email intercepts and other forms of surveillance'.

"None of this should surprise anyone, however. In light of multiple prior warnings which preceded past terrorist atrocities, the selective leaking of information to the British media in its own way, buttresses the official story that the near-tragedy aboard Flight 253 was simply the result of ubiquitous 'intelligence failures'. But as we have seen with Mohamed Atta, Richard Reid and Mohammad Sidique Khan, Abdulmutallab's 'journey' was one undertaken by many before, often with a wink-and-a-nod by British and American security officials when it served the geostrategic ambitions of their political masters." Burghardt goes on to say:

"As security researcher and analyst Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed wrote in the New Internationalist (October 2009): 'Islamist terrorism cannot be understood without acknowledging the extent to which its networks are being used by Western military intelligence services, both to control strategic energy resources and to counter their geopolitical rivals. Even now, nearly a decade after 9/11, covert sponsorship of al-Qaeda networks continues'. [Please see our article, "Radical Islam."]

"Ahmed's findings track closely with those of Michel Chossudovsky, Peter Dale Scott and Richard Labévière, who have painstakingly documented that the complex of jihadi groups known as al-Qaeda have enjoyed the closest ties with Western intelligence agencies stretching back decades. That intelligence officers, including those at the highest levels of the secret state's security apparat, did nothing to hamper an alleged al-Qaeda operative from getting on that plane--in a chilling echo of the 9/11 attacks--calls into question the thin tissue of lies outlined in the official narrative."

Bill Van Auken concludes:

"And so dear readers, we are left to ponder the question, cui bono?

Who would benefit politically from a major terrorist incident on American soil, ready, willing and able to step into the breach and exploit the catastrophic loss of human life that would follow in its wake?"

NOW, IF THIS IS THE TRUTH ...

Now, if what Van Auken, Chossudovsky, Scott, Labévière and all the rest of them say is true – and there can be little doubt as to that – THEN WE MUST CONCLUDE THAT THOSE WE DESCRIBED IN OUR ARTICLE "THE EVIL IN OUR MIDST" ARE UP TO NO GOOD; that they have come to the conclusion that they are in very real danger of being swept away by an aroused citizenry who are "as mad as hell at them." It is in this context that Lance Selfa, a left-wing writer who writes for Global Research is very worried about a right-wing resurgence in the United States; and he is very concerned that the Left is not taking this threat seriously; he writes:

"Last September ... thousands of conservatives responded to a call from Fox News's Glenn Beck to 'take their country back'. The September event followed a series of August town hall meetings in congressional districts in which conservatives, operating under the direction of right-wing Washington-based lobbying outfits like Freedom Works and Conservatives for Patients' Rights, protested—and in some cases, disrupted—Congress members' attempts to explain their support for health care reform legislation.

"In the November 3 off-year elections, Republicans swept the top state offices in Virginia, a state President Obama won by six points in 2008, and ousted Democratic governor Jon Corzine in New Jersey. Meanwhile, voters in Maine repealed a state law granting marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples by a 52 percent to 48 percent margin." THESE STUNNING ELECTORAL VICTORIES BY THE RIGHT HAVE NOW BEEN REINFORCED BY SCOTT BROWN'S VICTORY IN MASSACHUSETTS, A STATE THAT IS A BASTION OF LEFT-WING ACTIVITY. Selfa believes that the Right – building upon these electoral victories – could stage a right-wing coup using the pretext of a terrorist incident. Nonetheless, according to Selfa, the Left remains relatively oblivious to what's happening. Selfa continues:

"If you read or listen to a lot of pro-Obama, liberal commentary, you'd think that this notion that the American right can recapture significant popular support is laughable. For example, liberal MSNBC hosts Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, while often criticizing Obama, save most of their barbs for the right. To judge by their regular takedowns of the right, they assume that no one in their right mind takes Sarah Palin seriously, that Fox News is a joke, and that the GOP is about to tear itself up in a "civil war" between tea party kooks and moderates."

Selfa warns of the "growing conservatism" in the American electorate and warns that when this "conservatism" is -

"... mixed with the mélange of right-wing ideology that appeals to traditionalism (anti-gay marriage), nativism (anti-immigration), and racism (against a Black president)—and amplified by the existing conservative network Fox News exemplifies—the conservative appeal to economic anxiety can tap into broader currents who 'want their country back'."

Selfa continues:

"If the resentment that has been welling up in the electorate was merely mobilized to bring the GOP back to parity with the Democrats in the next election, that wouldn't merit much more commentary. But in a time of sharp political polarization stemming from the worst recession since at least the Second World War, resentment could give way to much more sinister developments. The nonsense associated with "birthers" and "deathers," that mainstream politicians either tolerate or promote contributes to a "toxic atmosphere of rage in America," according to a recent Anti-Defamation League (ADL) report on the American right. This not only poisons the political atmosphere, but, as the ADL points out, it provides a medium in which the far right can grow."

STOP AND CONSIDER ...

Now, stop and consider what we have been discussing here in the light of the prophetic scriptures:

• "A measure of wheat for a penny [literally - denarius, a Greek coin which represented a WHOLE DAYS wages], and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine." (Rev. 6:6)

  FIRST, Revelation 6:6 indicates that the "Rich / Poor" dynamic that has been unleashed on the world by the elites will NOT be stopped – ONCE AGAIN, a dynamic that creates a situation where the condition of man during this era (i.e., the "end of days") will be reduced to such that he will have to labor a whole day simply to buy a loaf of bread or three measures of barley. But the second part of the lyric (i.e., "... and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine ...") means that the "hard times" of this period will not extend to the elites. This is the common interpretation - the one subscribed to by Ryrie, Pentecost, Ironside, Gaebelein, etc. Clearly, IT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS DYNAMIC WILL NOT BE STOPPED – BUT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE TRIBULATION PERIOD. Obviously, then, the elites will prevail in their struggle against the "masses" – most likely as the result of a COUP that will install a fascist-like "religio / political dictatorship; that we can determine that such a dictatorship will result from a coup is made obvious because it cannot possibly be imagined that the American populace – AS A WHOLE – would willingly subject themselves to the poverty inherent in the dynamic that the super-rich have unleashed on the world; what this means is that the state will no longer be able to justify itself by a resort to the "Will of the People" and will instead have to legitimize itself by a resort to the "Will of God." [We URGE you to see our articles, "What Is Fascism, and What Is Its Connection to the United States" and "Transitioning from Christianity to Fascism."]

• The doctrine of the Antichrist and the Search for Moral Purity. Tristan and Isolde

  SECOND, we can be assured that the dictatorship that will be established will be a Christian-based dictatorship based on the kind of Christianity that we have depicted in our articles, "The God-Men of the American New World Order System" and "Luciferic Christianity;" please also see our article, "The Doctrine of the Antichrist: The Search for Moral Purity."]

We know this to be true because the Scriptures indicate that the dictatorship that shall arise in the "end of days" will be linked to an entity called the "Apostate Church." As F.G. Jennings suggests -

"In turning then to the seventeenth chapter of the Book of Revelation, we see the whole stage filled with two personalities only: a 'Beast' and a 'Woman' ... these two ... picture ... the future prophetic earth ... there can be no argument or discussion as to this speaking of both the CIVIL [political, economic, and military] and ECCLESIASTICAL [religious] conditions that will rule and characterize that part of the earth that is within the limits or boundaries of Prophecy.

"The whole of it will be filled with what shall answer to this 'Beast' and this 'Woman.' The two [the "Beast (which answers to the Civil Power) and the "Woman" (which answers to the Religious Power)] are thus indissolubly co-related, and tell us to what end all [this is] trending; that is that there will eventually be a one World-Empire and a one World-Church, and these will cover the whole of what is now called CHRISTENDOM; the one Empire supporting the one Church, [as] the 'Beast' in the picture supports the 'Woman,' and the 'Woman' is supported by the 'Beast' ..." In the light of the two points we have just discussed (see above), consider the other prophetic events that have been occurring recently:

1. Earthquakes. (Matthew 24:7)
2. Pestilences. (Matthew 24:7)
3. Famines. (Matthew 24:7)
4. There will be economic hardship in parts of the world that have never before suffered such hardship. (Revelation 6:6)
5. Wars and other conflicts. (Matthew 24:6)
6. Iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12)

5. WARS AND OTHER CONFLICTS:

   

   Michel Chossudovsky calls the "War on Terror" a pretext for permanent "New World Order" wars of conquest serving the interests of Wall Street and the financial community, the US military-industrial complex, Big Oil, and other corporate interests.

   Specifically, Chossudovsky says:

   "The US 'campaign against terrorism' is a 'war of conquest' for empire, threatening future humanity with devastating consequences. America's New War isn't confined to the Middle East and Central Asia. IT AIMS AT MILITARIZING VAST REGIONS OF THE WORLD, leading to the consolidation of what is best described as the 'American Empire'. The 'war on terrorism' is a cover to not only re-colonize Iran, Iraq and the Indian (subcontinent)," but also China and the former Soviet bloc."

   If this is so – and it is – then very obviously what the "War on Terror" has done is to create the EXACT conditions described by Matthew 24:6:

"And ye shall hear of wars ad rumours of wars ..."

6. INIQUITY SHALL ABOUND, AND THE
   LOVE OF MANY SHALL WAX COLD.

   As we indicated in our article "As in the Days of Noah," SEXUAL PERVERSION – and that is precisely the kind of "iniquity" that the Bible is referencing in Matthew 24:12 - has already subsumed vast segments of America's population.

   NOTE: In connection with this, one should pay particular attention to the PRECISE wording of Matthew 24:13 - "Because iniquity [i.e., sexual perversion] shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

   This is a very interesting phrase. The Bible is not necessarily referring to our love for Christ per se, but to love itself: to the ability of human beings to have LOVING relationships with one another. In essence, then, what the Bible is saying is that there is a REVERSE (topsy-turvy, upside down) relationship between sexual perversion and one's ability to love others; the more that sexual perversions and/or "obsessions" takes root in the heart of man, the more his ability to have LOVING relationships with others is diminished.    Concerning this matter, Dr. Judith Reisman writes:

   "For decades I have lectured on visual pornography as an "endogenous drug" that PERMANENTLY restructures the brain, mind, memory and conduct of unthinking users ... Pornography overrides cognition and causes dramatic changes in viewers' behavior. This can be simple coarsening, impairing the capacity to love (which is exactly what Matthew 24:13 says is occurring today in the hearts of men and women), or it can lead to brutal sexual crimes."

   Dr. Mary Ann Layden, co-director of the Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Cognitive Therapy, concurs with Riesman. Speaking on the seriousness of sexual addictions before the 2004 Senate Commerce Committee, Layden said:

   "Sexual addicts have a more difficult time recovering from their addiction than cocaine addicts, since coke users can get the drug out of their system, BUT PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES STAY IN THE BRAIN FOREVER."

FINALLY ...

Finally, one should consider the breath-taking precision that the Scriptures have revealed in positioning America's military forces in the Middle East - and most especially in the land of Ancient Babylon. Think, just for a minute, how incredible it is that they are positioned in the PRECISE location the prophecies of Daniel placed them app. 2,500 years ago.

Consider also the immediate nature of an Israeli air-strike on Iran – an air-strike that could inflame the whole of the Middle East, and complete the RADICALIZATION of the Islamic world, setting the stage thereby for the Gog / Magog War.
