THE INVASION OF EUROPE BY
AMERICA'S APOSTATE CHURCH

Recently we received the following letter from a VERY dear brother in Switzerland. He wrote in reference to our last article, "The Rise of Fascism in Europe;" specifically, he said:

"Hello,

"I think your last article looks a little too pro Muslim. You write as if all the Muslims are nice people; there is not a more evil people than the Muslims in all the world. Perhaps you are a little blind, but Allah is nobody else than Satan himself.

"If you cannot see this you are really blind. Islam is the biggest satanic sect in the world. We here in Switzerland have also Christians, their main work is to convert Muslims, but they [presumably, the Muslims] have no love for Christians at all.

"And if you don't see the left working with the Muslims you are also blind as the Muslims are nothing more than parasites. They are stupid as hell, and when you cannot see this you are very blind, and when Europe has no right to defend its Christian heritage, and to give everything to the Muslims for free then also you are blind. We don't have something against foreigners, when they work and are quiet; but show me one Muslim that likes to work and that is quiet.

"I think you take up for the wrong people. Muslims are all endorsing Satan himself and are the most evil people in the world just like the people from the left. So you are a little too fanatic to show that the only bad people in all the world are some Christians like people from the right."

NOTE FROM ANTIPAS:

We do not pretend that there is no evil emanating from the Left; nor do we say that insofar as the Muslim community is concerned. It's only that the evil the Left and the Muslim community are perpetrating on the world is not done in the name of Christ; but that's NOT the case with the Christian Right - they perpetrate their evil on the world in the Name of Christ - and in so doing, they bring shame on His precious Name.  Jesus said,

"For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, as it is written." (Romans 2:24)

"The next time I hope you will write something about your left fascist Muslim terrorist president Obama.

"Yes the rich are bad and Christian rich are even more bad but nearly two billion satanic Muslim are the evil write something about Obama and the satanic Muslims next time."

God is on our side

Now, I love this brother; he is very dear to me; but I have to say that what he is saying TERRIFIES me. He has - whether he realizes it or not - bought into a mindset that DEMONIZES a whole people. This is the same kind of mindset that was let loose on the Jews of Europe some 70 years ago, and it was done in the name of Christ; after all, Isn't that what Hitler meant when he said:

"Today Christians ... stand at the head of Germany ... I pledge that I never will tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity ... We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit ..."  ?

And again when he said:

"The national government ... will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality."

Jesus said:

And again, He said:

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

"That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:44-45)

INTRODUCTION

Christopher Caldwell, a prominent neo-conservative ideologue and a columnist for the Financial Times and the Weekly Standard, says that Europe is in danger of losing its white, Euro-centric Christian" culture because of a multiculturalism that has run amuck and that has opened the way for an Islamic onslaught on the continent. Like Edmund Burke before him, Caldwell sees European society being dissolved and replaced by a world of monsters. The monstrosities Caldwell parades before us include honor killings, "menacing North African slums," anti-Semitic outrages, European police who "are petrified of Muslim men," vandals rampaging through the banlieues [i.e., those areas of low-income apartments that surround French cities], and young zealots marching through European streets with signs reading "Death to anyone who insults Islam!" The French Newspaper La Monde calls Christopher Caldwell's, Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam and the West, a neo-conservative call to arms against the onslaught of Islam. [Please see our article, "The Neo-Conservatives."]

Concerning the Islamic menace that Caldwell sees, Stephen Holmes writes:

"You may doubt that a socially marginalized, economically impoverished, politically disorganized, and territorially dispersed minority [i.e., Europe's Muslim community] could pull off a revolution, seizing the commanding heights from native Europeans who dominate their countries' institutions and own virtually all of Europe's wealth. After all, the groups in question are trapped in pockets of violent weakness where smoldering anger does not translate into significant power. But Caldwell mocks such doubts: 'There were probably fewer Bolsheviks in Russia in 1917 than there are Islamists in Europe today'."

Holmes continues:

"Once the book gets under way, however, the concept of 'revolution' plays virtually no role in the analysis. Instead, Caldwell wants us to see Muslim immigration into Europe as a kind of reverse colonization that may lead, you guessed it, to the Islamification of Europe. Because Europe's population is imploding and its territory is being reoccupied by non-Europeans, the homeland of Western civilization may be destined to vanish into the mists of time, in the manner of the Byzantine Empire. "If Caldwell and his fellow doomsayers are to be believed, Muslims have now done what they failed to do at the gates of Vienna in 1683. They have breached Europe's defenses and created 'beachheads' behind enemy lines, 'patiently conquering Europe's cities, street by street'. We shouldn't view Muslim immigrants merely as seeking better lives for themselves and their families, Caldwell says. They should be seen instead as the avant-garde forces of a long campaign of cultural replacement."

Shame and remorse about both the Holocaust and colonialism threw Europeans into spasms of 'moral self-flagellation.'

Holmes goes on to say:

"Even if, for the sake of argument, we accept ... Caldwell's way of framing the issue, it leaves us wondering: Why are the Europeans, with so many material resources, losing this war? Caldwell's answer is that theirs 'is a civilization in decline'. Europeans are mired in 'self-loathing' and 'hand-wringing self-detestation'. He explains, 'Whether or not [Europe] can defend itself, it has lost sight of why it should'.

"A 'guilt-based moral order' took root in Europe, according to Caldwell, when shame and remorse about both the Holocaust and colonialism threw Europeans into spasms of 'moral self-flagellation'. Ashamed of their past persecution and oppression of non-Christian peoples, European [liberal] elites began to espouse an 'ideology of tolerance'. You might suppose that an 'ideology of tolerance' would be ethical and principled, but in Caldwell's telling, it is actually an expression of unprincipled self-disgust.

"Supposedly, it is this self-loathing that has led Europeans to see the admission of Muslim immigrants as 'a moral duty'."

CALDWELL'S THINKING

Holmes explains:

"Caldwell's thinking goes something like this: When rich nations subscribe to universal human rights, they lose all moral grounds for keeping out poor immigrants. After World War II, Europeans abandoned their traditional intolerance of non-Christian peoples in the name of universalism."

Now stop and think what is being said here: Caldwell is saying that Europe's intolerance of "lesser peoples" - the kind of intolerance that led to the domination of the world by European powers during the age of colonialism - sprang from Christianity, AND HE APPROVES OF THIS INTOLERANCE.

THE GREAT SHAME IN ALL THIS - AT LEAST IN THE EYES OF THOSE OUTSIDE WESTERN CIVILIZATION - IS THAT IT PLACES CHRIST ON THE SIDE OF THE WEST'S BLOODY AND INHUMANE RAMPAGE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD FOR THE SAKE OF MAKING A PROFIT.

Holmes continues in his assessment of Caldwell's teaching:

"Their inability to turn away immigrants who 'present themselves in suffering humanity's name' may look like a moral choice, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A REFUSAL TO DEFEND THEIR OWN VALUES AND TRADITIONS."

Now, again, think about what is being said here: According to Caldwell, Christianity - rightly understood - is the guardian of the West's right to pillage the world.

Holmes goes on to say:

Francis Schaeffer is credited with turning Falwell away from his pre-millennial mindset to a post-millennial mindset - the belief that the earth (and particularly the United States) could be saved before the coming of the Lord.

"According to Caldwell, As Europeans lost their Christian faith, they also lost their 'anchor' (one of his favorite words). Skepticism eroded the moral justification for cultural self-preservation because 'all European cultures depend for their stability on certain ethical survivals of Christianity, and would have a difficult time defending their values without them'."

FRANCIS SCHAEFFER

This, of course, is EXACTLY what Francis Schaeffer postulated - though not in these stark terms. Schaeffer's A Christian Manifesto was published in 1981. The intent of the book was to involve Christians in the effort to re-conquer Europe politically, and re-establish Christianity as the undergirding of European society.  The name of the book was intended to position its thesis as a Christian answer to The Communist Manifesto of 1848 and the Humanist Manifesto documents of 1933 and 1973.

Schaeffer's diagnosis aligns itself pretty much with Caldwell's diagnosis - that is to say, that the decline of European Civilization is due to society having become increasingly pluralistic, resulting in a shift "away from a world view that was Christian toward something completely different." Schaeffer argues that there is a philosophical struggle between the people of God and the secular humanists. Schaeffer defined secular humanism as the worldview where "man is the measure of all things." He described the conflict with secular humanism as a battle in which "these two religions, Christianity and humanism, stand over against each other as totalities." He writes that the decline of objective values in Western society is "not because of a conspiracy, but because the church has forsaken its duty to be the salt of the culture."

This led Schaeffer to embrace the concept of WORLD EVANGELIZATION by 2000: by "re-Christianizing" Europe, the West could be saved. To this end, Schaeffer joined Billy Graham in founding the LAUSANNE MOVEMENT: "The Whole Church taking the Whole Gospel to the Whole World. "

In doing so, Graham and Schaeffer developed a passion to "unite all evangelicals in the common task of the total evangelization of the world" - WHICH IN THEIR MINDSET MEANT TAKING NOT ONLY THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST TO THE WORLD, BUT ALSO THE INSTITUIONS OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION. In Schaeffer's mind, the two went hand-in-hand.

In July 1974 - seven years before the publication of A Christian Manifesto - some 2,700 participants and guests from over 150 nations gathered at Schaeffer's headquarters in the Swiss Alps for ten days of discussion, fellowship, worship and prayer regarding the ideas that were just then beginning to percolate in Schaeffer's mind. Time Magazine described the Lausanne Congress as "a formidable forum, possibly the widest-ranging meeting of Christians ever held."

Leo Strauss and his right-wing disciples, among which are John Podhoretz, Rupert Murdoch, Elliott Abrams, Midge Decter, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Richard Pearl, Daniel Pipes, Bill Kristol, Robert Kagan, David Frum, etc.

NOTE: Sara Diamond and Frederick Clarkson have written articles tracing the activism of numerous key figures in the Christian Right to the influence of Francis Schaeffer. According to Diamond: "The idea of taking dominion over secular society gained widespread currency with the 1981 publication of Schaeffer's book A Christian Manifesto. The book sold 290,000 copies in its first year, and it remains one of the movement's most frequently cited texts." OTHER CHRISTIAN RIGHT LEADERS SUCH AS TIM LAHAYE HAVE ALSO CREDITED SCHAEFFER FOR INFLUENCING THEIR THEOLOGICAL ARGUMENTS URGING POLITICAL PARTICIPATION. Randall Terry, the founder of Operation Rescue, also acknowledged the influence of Schaeffer.

While both Schaeffer and Caldwell would have never said so, what they were (are) postulating here is that Christianity has value only insofar as it provides the ideological undergirding for the continued domination of Western Civilization - meaning the continued domination of a white, Euro-centric "Christian" Civilization - AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE NEO-CONSERVATIVES HAVE PICKED UP ON INSOFAR AS THEIR ALLIANCE WITH THE EVANGELICAL CHURCH IS CONCERNED. ONCE EUROPEANS LOST
THEIR CHRISTIAN FAITH ...

Holmes explains:

"Once they [i.e., the Europeans] had lost their Christian faith, Europeans were bound to become what Caldwell sees them as today -- promiscuous consumerists without souls ... What is the chance that the European civilization we discover in 'the shopping mall, the pierced navel, online gambling, a 50 percent divorce rate, and high rate of anomie [i.e., moral alienation] and self-loathing' could defend itself against the Muslim advance? Very little: 'The spiritual tawdriness Islamic immigrants perceive in the modern West is not imaginary. It may be Europe's biggest liability in preserving its culture'."

The Europeans: Promiscuous, wanton and without souls.

THE MAIN POINT THAT CALDWELL IS TRYING TO MAKE:
EUROPE NEEDS TO RE-PATTERN ITSELF AFTER THE U.S.

Near the beginning of his book, attempting to explain why Europeans have lost faith in their traditions, Caldwell quotes a remarkable passage from the French sociologist Raymond Aron: 'Europeans would like to exit from history, from la grande histoire, FROM THE HISTORY THAT IS WRITTEN IN LETTERS OF BLOOD'. This brings us to the heart of the matter. Unlike the post-nationalist Europeans, AMERICANS REMAIN WILLING TO WRITE HISTORY IN THE LETTERS OF BLOOD. NOT CHRIST-LIKE CONCERN FOR THE WEAK AND THE MARGINALIZED BUT READINESS FOR ORGANIZED VIOLENCE is presumably why America's culture strikes the editors of the Weekly Standard as less drab than Europe's. AMERICA SHARES BELLICOSITY WITH SOME PARTS OF THE MUSLIM WORLD, AND THIS IS A GOOD THING. EUROPEAN MUSLIMS, HE INFORMS US, HAVE 'KEPT ALIVE DREAMS OF CULTURAL, NATIONAL, AND EVEN RACIAL GLORY THAT ARE BEYOND THE REACH OF EUROPEANS' UNIVERSALISM BECAUSE THEY ARE BEYOND THE REACH OF EUROPEAN UNDERSTANDING'. BUT THANKS TO AMERICA, EQUIVALENT DREAMS OF PATRIOTIC (EVEN RACIAL) GLORY HAVE NOT VANISHED FROM THE WEST. Despite its sometimes-tawdry consumerism, AMERICA IS PUMPED FOR WAR AND IS THEREFORE WELL-POSITIONED TO TAKE ON THE ISLAMIC THREAT.

CALDWELL SUGGESTS A DARK SOLUTION

Holmes concludes:

"Caldwell raises one possibility insofar as dealing with the Islamic threat; he raises it in a parable about the fate awaiting guests who overstay their welcome: 'The most spectacular illustration history offers of the kinship of hospitality and mistrust is that of Captain Cook, who was feted, flattered, and worshipped for a month by the Hawaiian islanders in Kealakekua Bay in 1779. When he and his crew returned on an emergency visit to repair a broken mast, they were massacred'."

Eee gads, What's Caldwell suggesting here? - that Europe should treat its "guests" in the same fashion the Hawaiian islanders did with Captain Cook? That's EXACTLY what Caldwell is suggesting.

NAR: REASSERTING CHRISTIAN
CONTROL OVER EUROPE

Caldwell and his neo-conservative allies believe that the only way that a backbone can be re-inserted into the European body politik is by infusing Europe with the kind of "racial Christianity" (so-called) that undergirded Europe's colonial empires a century ago - a kind of Christianity that is not afraid of using the gun to get its way.

To this end, the neo-conservatives are sparing no effort at re-introducing this kind of BLOODY Christianity into Europe. It's a movement that they are attempting to export from America onto the European continent using something called the NEW APOSTOLIC REFORMATION (NAR) as its battering ram. And exactly what is NAR? It is a very muscular form of Christianity that does not shy away from the use of force to get its way. One NAR pamphlet describes the New Apostolic Reformation in this way:

"There is a new and strong reformation on the way raised and moved by a revival of the Word and of the Spirit. It will not bring us back to the Reformation, but back to the Acts of the Apostles... its dynamics, foundation and building-patterns. This sovereign work of God will have the power to clean up and re-align God's House ... They don't play after other rules and agendas than the ones God himself dictates. Because now... He is in charge and will stay in charge!"

The God-men of America's New World Order System.

NAR is a composite of a myriad group of Christian churches and ministries such as the International Coalition of Apostles (ICR), Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Global Harvest Ministries, the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders (ACPE), the United States Global Apostolic Prayer Network (USGAPN), Hope for Europe, (HFE), etc. and to such AMERICAN personalities as C. Peter Wagner, George Otis, Ed Silvoso, the now disgraced Ted Haggert, John Dawson, Chuck Pierce, John Kelly, Bill Hamon, Rick Joyner, ad nauseum. [We URGE you to inform yourself of the kind of twisted theology these organizations and personalities are purveying to the world: "The God-Men of America's New World Order System" and "Luciferic Christianity."]

Rachel Tabachnick describes the movement this way:

"IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT THAT A LARGE BLOCK OF THE EVANGELICAL WORLD DECIDED TO RE-ORGANIZE THEMSELVES IN A HIERARCHY RESEMBLING THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, with leaders in authority over each nation and region. Imagine that every person—from the congregants to the top leaders—has someone to whom they are accountable."

NOTE: The leaders of the NAR describe their effort in this direction as "postdenominational;" but it is "postdenominational" only insofar as they are replacing a myriad of denominations with one giant denomination, and in the process making "denominationalism" that much worse.

Tabachnick explains:

"The Apostles and Prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation view their postdenominational movement as the future face of the Protestant church and the end of denominations as we know them. Their ideology and 'relational networks' have taken root in the block of 400 million independent Charismatics, sometimes referred to as neo-charismatics or neo-Pentecostals. This is an often overlooked mega-block of Christianity that is larger than all Protestant denominations combined, according to world missions statisticians."

CHURCH GROWTH: THE CELL-CHURCH MOVEMENT

Tabachnick writes:

"Church growth is the key concept [that NAR is promulgating to the world] ..."

The concept itself is an ideology popularized by C. Peter Wagner.

Tabachnick explains Wagner's involvement:

"Wagner, who will be 80 this year, was a professor of church growth for 30 years at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has mainstreamed cell church ideology, a strategy which began in Asia and South America and has resulted in congregations of tens of thousands. Cell churches are organized like a pyramid marketing scheme with small groups, usually with no more than 12, tasked with spinning off new cell groups and growing the church. THIS ALSO RESEMBLES A MILITARY STRUCTURE - EACH CELL HAS A LEADER AND LOWER LEVEL LEADERS ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THEIR SUPERIORS ON UP THE CHAIN.

"SUCH SCHEMES USED TO BE CALLED SHEPHERDING, BUT BECAUSE OF BAD PRESS AND REPORTS OF COERCIVE AND ABUSIVE PRACTICES, THEY HAVE BEEN RE-NAMED "DISCIPLING." Laypeople in cells perform many of the functions that would normally be carried out by pastors—and pastors then become like corporate CEOs. The New Apostolics are now trying to apply shepherding to entire communities and even nations." [Please see our article, "Today's Church: Making Zombies out of Christians."]

NOTE: Shepherding/Discipleship teaching emphasizes the necessity of each "sheep," or Christian disciple, submitting to a "shepherd," or church elder charged by God with responsibility for the spiritual development of the sheep.  The shepherd is in turn submitted to another spiritual elder, and so on up the chain of submissions to the "apostles" at the apex of the characteristic pyramidal structure that links both individuals and groups within the movement.

TABACHNICK SAYS THAT IF IT SEEMS THAT THE STRUCTURE CREATED LOOKS LIKE THE SAME BUSINESS MODEL THAT GOVERNS MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING SCHEMES, THE REASON IS, THERE IS VERY LITTLE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THE TWO. CELL GROUPS ARE THE MEANS THROUGH WHICH NAR
HAS BEEN ABLE TO INFILTRATE AND TAKE OVER CHURCHES

Cells infiltrating other cells and forming cancers. This is EXACTLY how the NAR movement operates.

These groups are especially useful because they are the means through which NAR and groups affiliated with NAR have been able to infiltrate unsuspecting churches and ministries and take them over.

NOTE: There are a number of different cell group structures; the classic structure is the so-called "Jethro Structure." Its major user is David Yonggi Cho, who has built the largest Church in the world in South Korea, NOT NECESSARILY THROUGH EVANGELIZATION OF THE LOST, BUT THROUGH INFILTRATING SMALLER CHURCHES AND TAKING THEM OVER.  The Cell groups in the Jethro structure never grow larger than 15 members and will multiply when they reach that figure. When the group reaches about 7-8 believers, they start training up members in the Cell for ministry. Usually one of the members is identified as an intern (potential Cell Leader). This Intern completes the leadership training and is given opportunities to lead different parts of the Cell e.g. week 1- the Welcome section, week 2- the Worship section of the Cell meeting. Soon afterwards the intern Cell leader will lead the whole Cell meeting under the supervision of his Cell leader. Once the maximum size of the Cell has been reached, the Cell multiplies into two Cells of 7 and 8 members. The Intern leads the new Cell that has multiplied from the existing Cell. These 2 new Cells begin the process again and evangelize their social contacts to grow their Cell Group to 15 members, and then repeat the cycle.

There can be now question that cell groups produce ONENESS: but the question is, What kind of oneness? - it's certainly not the kind of oneness that is produced by a living, loving relationship with Christ, but the kind the SS produced among its ranks in Nazi Germany where blind obedience to one's superior is required (see CORE PRINCIPLES below).

NOW IN ALL OF THIS IT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD THAT THESE CELLS ARE FORMED WITHOUT ANY CONCERN FOR THE LOCAL CHURCHES FROM WHICH THEIR MEMBERS ARE "CULLED." THIS IS WHAT THOSE WHO SUPPORT CELL GROWTH MEAN WHEN THEY CALL THEMSELVES "POST-DENOMINATIONAL" - THAT IS TO SAY, THEY HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE INTERNAL INTEGRITY OF CHURCHES OUTSIDE THE CELL CHURCH MOVEMENT.  THOSE WHO ARE MEMBERS OF EACH CELL ARE INFORMED THAT THEIR LOYALITY MUST BE TO THE CELL, RATHER THAN TO THE CHURCH THEY ATTEND - WHICH MEANS THAT ULTIMATELY THEY MUST WITHDRAW FROM THEIR OLD CHURCH; EITHER THAT OR THE "OLD CHURCH" MUST BE SUBSUMED IN THE PROCESS. [We URGE you to see our article, "Today's Church: Making Zombies out of Christians" for a vivid example of how NAR affiliated groups take over already established churches and ministries; in this instance, how C. Peter Wagner took control of John Kelly's "Antioch Churches and Ministries."]

When there are 5 Cell groups, a successful Cell Leader is promoted to become a Zone Supervisor. This Zone Supervisor serves these 5 Cell leaders. The size of a Sub Zone is approximately 50 - 70 people. These Sub Zones are usually formed GEOGRAPHICALLY, i.e. the Cell Groups are all from the same geographical area. It is important to maintain no more than 5 Cell groups per Zone Supervisor. If this standard is not maintained then the lack of supervision and mentoring can cause serious problems. The Zone Supervisors are usually not paid workers and volunteer their services.

A Zone is formed when 5 Sub-Zones are grouped together. A successful Zone Supervisor is promoted to become a Zone Pastor. This Zone Pastor serves these 5 Zone Supervisors and their 25 Cell Groups. A Zone averages about 250 people. At this level most Jethro structured Churches hire the Zone Pastors full time.

A district is formed when 5 Zones are grouped together. A successful Zone Pastor is promoted to become a District Pastor. A District Pastor serves 5 Zone Pastors, 25 Zone Supervisors and 125 Cell Groups. An average District is at least 1000 people.

David Barrett, editor of the World Christian Encyclopedia reports that there are 1,000 apostolic networks on record in his global database.  These networks are found on six continents and account, by his estimate, for some 100 million believers worldwide.  Dr. Wagner estimates that in the US alone there are as many NAR churches as there are Southern Baptist congregations - something approaching 40,000. 

The kind of conformity that a cookie cutter produces.

NOTE: Very obviously, there is very little room for any kind of individuality in the cell group movement; indeed, the term "individualism" - like the term "doctrine" - has been anathematized, and so much so that it has become a term of scorn and shame. Each cell is to be a carbon copy of the next cell. Any distinction that might distinguish one cell from another is looked upon with suspicion. CONFORMITY IS WHAT MATTERS - the kind of conformity that a cookie cutter produces.

Again, what the cell church movement produces is a hierarchy which promotes the kind of authority one would find in a business establishment, or worse, a political movement where the leaders of the church are made LORD'S OVER GOD'S HERITAGE in direct contradiction to 1 Peter 5:3, to say nothing of Matthew 20:

As a lord over God's heritage

"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

"But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

"And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant ..." (Matthew 20:25-27)

CORE PRINCIPLES

John Rowell cites a number of "core principles" that govern relationships in the NAR, among which are -

1. There is a need NOT to be dogmatic insofar as the TRUTH of the Scriptures are concerned.

2. Authority flows from relationships

3. Accountability should be relational not institutional. 

4. Senior leaders cast vision and others follow. 

5. It is assumed that Holy Spirit anointed leaders can be trusted. 

6. Eschatology is optimistic, not something that is negative

To be called "doctrinaire" is a slander in today's church.

Now consider the ramifications of all this:

Relationships trump the truth; that is to say, one should not separate from one's brethren over doctrinal matters, but should find a way to "compromise" differences. This inevitably means reducing doctrine to its lowest common denominator, or to easily-swallowed pabulum - AND SO SUCCESSFUL HAS THIS EFFORT BEEN THAT THE WORD "DOCTRINE" HAS BECOME A SLANDER AMONG MANY CHRISTIANS TODAY - AN OPPROBRIUM TO BE CAST AT ONE'S ENEMIES.

But the Word of God says:

"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and DOCTRINE.

"FOR THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

"AND THEY SHALL TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH, AND SHALL BE TURNED UNTO FABLES." (2 Timothy 4:1-4)

Once one shunts doctrine off as being irrelevant - OR, worse, the enemy of Christian unity - one can see how easily #2 and #3 (see above) follow, and they follow as easily and naturally as the day follows the night. One's personal charisma is what counts; one's outward piety. But the Word of God says:

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." (John 7:24)

And there is something more: If one were to judge simply on the basis of personal appearance, then certainly Mohandas Gandhi was a Christian, to say nothing about Mother Teresa. BUT NEITHER ONE WAS A CHRISTIAN!!

They were, no doubt, very good people - but they were NOT Christians.

HOLD FAST TO SOUND DOCTRINE

The Bible says that a Christian leader must be one who -

"Holds fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound DOCTRINE both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers." (Titus 1:9)

But how is that possible when RELATIONSHIPS are held in higher esteem than SOUND DOCTRINE?

It is, of course, not possible - and so much so that Jesus warned His disciples that in the "last days" those who hold to the TRUTH will be -

"... put ... out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." (John 16:2)

Jesus said,

"... I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life ..." (John 14:6)

And again, the Bible says:

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in TRUTH." (John 4:24)

If one does not hold on to the truth - even at the expense of severing relationships - it is impossible to hold on to Christ.

THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND

And this brings us to the 4^th principle that NAR adheres to: Senior leaders cast vision and others follow. But one must ask himself, what kind of vision do these leaders "cast" if they refuse to HOLD to the TRUTH? - which then brings us to the 5^th principle - the "sheep" are to trust their leaders because it is assumed that "anointed leaders" can be trusted. Assumed? - that's quite an assumption - an assumption not that much different from the assumption that Catholics hold to insofar as the Pope is concerned.

The Bible says:

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

And exactly how are we to "measure" or "try" them? - by the Word of God; but how is that possible when "sound doctrine" has been relegated to the level of an OPPROBRIUM?

These are the people about whom Jesus said:

"They be blind leaders of the blind." (Matthew 15:14)

THE SIXTH CORE PRINCIPLE

Finally, we come to the 6^th CORE PRINCIPLE: Eschatology is optimistic, not something that is negative - it's an eschatology that pictures the Lord (a) bringing revival to the church, (b) instituting the rule of the "apostles and the prophets, and (c) bringing an end of the church's divisions. Jewel van der Merwe of Discernment Magazine, elaborates; she writes that ... [NAR] is pushing a belief system which prophesies that " ...

• The greatest revival the church has ever known is about to occur;

• The greatest baptism of the Spirit the Church has ever experienced will shortly happen;

• A great Christian army will be raised up - one that is distinguished by invincibility, immortality and divinity;

• The greatest purging in the history of the church will shortly begin;

• The greatest ministry - the Prize of all Ages is about to break forth;

• The greatest miracles, supernatural signs and wonders far exceeding that of the Apostles and Prophets of old will shortly take place.

• The Gospel is preached to the whole earth which leads to the conversion of Israel, the conquest of the world, and the judgment of those who refuse to convert.

• The Lord returns.

NOTE: This model, however, is at total variance with what the Bible teaches:

• The world is plunged into a time of spiritual and political crisis;

• The church is apostatized;

• The apostatized church unites with the anti-Christ and seizes control of the world;

• A great tribulation breaks out against those Christians who refuse to become a part of the apostatized church, resulting in their persecution and finally their destruction - after which the anti-Christ, who had at first appeared as the champion of Israel, turns on Israel to destroy her;

• The rapture occurs for those Christians who "remain," and Christ returns to bring judgment on those who had destroyed Israel and persecuted those Christians who had refused to be apostatized.

Needless to say, NAR's eschatology can only be sustained by putting blinders on with regard to what the Scripture's teach; hence, the effort by NAR to de-emphasize doctrine and reinforce the "visions" of the so-called apostles and prophets; to create a mindset in Christians where they can say with Bill McCartney,

"We the laity (i.e., the 'empty-headed bumpkins') cannot rightly divide the word of truth (i.e., the Bible). We need you (i.e., the 'enlightened leaders') to teach us."

BUT WHAT A TERRIBLE MINDSET THIS IS

But what a terrible mindset this is - when one subverts the primacy of the Scriptures for the "visions of men;" it invariably results in turning men into BEASTS, which is exactly what happened to the people of Germany.

Concerning this terrible outcome, Stanley Milgram, an American social psychologist, conducted a series of experiments which suggested that most people who are not anchored by a set of RIGID core principles can be easily transformed into MONSTERS when they are subjected to the authority of any given hierarchy. Christopher R. Browning - in his book, Ordinary Men - writes:

"In a series of now famous experiments, Milgram tested the individual's ability to resist authority that was not backed up by any external coercive threat. Naïve volunteer subjects were instructed by a "scientific authority" in an alleged learning experiment to inflict an escalating series of fake electric shocks upon an actor/victim, who responded with carefully programmed 'voice feedback' - an escalating series of complaints, cries of pain, calls for help, and finally fateful silence. In the standard voice feedback experiment, two-thirds of Milgram's subjects were 'obedient' to the point of inflicting extreme pain."

Stanley Milgram's obedience experiments in the early 1960s are some of the most famous in all of psychology. In them, Milgram tested how far people would go in delivering painful shocks to a peer, when instructed to do so by an authority figure -- the experimenter, or scientist. The scientist told the volunteers they were participating in a learning experiment, to test how shocks might improve recall of word associations; and he encouraged them to continue raising the voltage of the shocks when the learner gave wrong answers. The "learner" was in fact an actor, giving many wrong answers, and pretending to be receiving shocks. Most of the study participants went to what they thought was the maximum shock level -- 450 volts on the machine -- despite loud protests and shouts of pain from the learner. Other academicians have conducted similar experiments with women involving sadism. The women involved had never before been involved in bondage or sado-masochism, but when they were instructed by an authority figure to inflict pain on actor/victims most did so without any hesitation - so much for the thought that women are not as compliant as men in such circumstances.

Browning continues:

"What this proves is that a seemingly voluntary entry into an authority system 'perceived' as legitimate creates a strong sense of obligation. Those within the hierarchy adopt the authority's perspective or definition of the situation' (in this case, as an important scientific experiment rather than the infliction of physical torture). The notions of 'loyalty, duty, discipline', requiring competent performance in the eyes of authority, become moral imperatives overriding any identification with the victim. Normal individuals enter an 'agentic state' in which they are the instrument of another's will. In such a state, they no longer feel personally responsible for the content of their action, but only for who well they perform.

"Once entangled, people encounter a series of 'binding factors' or 'cementing mechanisms' that make disobedience or refusal even more difficult.  The momentum of the process discourages any new or contrary initiative. The 'situational obligation' or etiquette makes refusal appear improper, rude, or even an immoral breach of obligation ...

"Milgram made direct reference to the similarities between human behavior in his experiments and under the Nazi regime. He concluded, 'Men are led to kill with little difficulty'."

"Men are led to kill with little difficulty."

All of this cannot help but breathe ominous life into John 16:2-3"

"They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

"AND THESE THINGS WILL THEY DO UNTO YOU, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN THE FATHER, NOT ME." (John 16:2-3)

THIS IS THE KIND OF HELP FOR WHICH GEERT WILDERS IS EVIDENTLY HOPING WHEN HE SAYS:

"THE UNITED STATES IS THE LAST BASTION OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION FACING AN ISLAMIC EUROPE."

GOD HELP RIGHT-THINKING EUROPEANS TO OPPOSE THIS INVASION OF AMERICA'S TWISTED FORM OF CHRISTIANITY.

PAT ROBERTSON HAS DENOUNCED ISLAM AS A MOVEMENT -

"WORSE THAN THE NAZI MOVEMENT."

BUT IN THE END, WHAT HE AND OTHERS ARE CREATING IS EXACTLY THAT WHICH HE SAYS THE MUSLIMS HAVE CREATED; A MOVEMENT -

"WORSE THAN THE NAZI MOVEMENT."

The apostate American church is on the march, and it intends to subsume all of Europe by taking advantage of the economic catastrophe that is presently taking hold of Europe - a catastrophe that will inevitably plunge Europe into chaos, destroy the European Union as we know it today, and lead to the emergence of a FASCIST-LIKE ten-nation confederation that will slavishly give its power "for one short hour" to an eleventh nation - Prophetic Babylon. This time, however, the "whipping boy" for the new fascism in Europe will not be the Jews (at least initially), but the Muslims in their midst.
