STOP! – YOU'RE NOT GOING TO
WARN ME AGAIN ABOUT THE
DANGER OF DOING NOTHING

STOP - You're not going to warn me again about refusing to choose a radical solution to deal with the so-called danger I'm in, are you?

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

We at Antipas HQ are, according to current government statistics, now members of America's ultra-poor, and for that reason we no longer have direct access to the internet: it's just too expensive for us, especially in light of the expense we must bear to keep our website "on the air." Our access is now limited to occasional visits to Starbuck's for coffee where they have wi-fi access for their customers. (Perhaps it is the Lord's will that if we are going to press the case for the poor, we should suffer as the poor.)

For that reason, we will be unable to answer your emails in a very timely fashion; so if we don't get back to you right away, please bear with us; we will eventually do so.

Insofar as our descent into poverty, all we can do is agree with the Prophet Habakkuk,

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

"Yet I will REJOICE in the LORD, I will JOY in the God of my salvation." (Habakkuk 3:17-18)

The apostate union of the church with the American New World Order System

INTRODUCTION

I never quit being dumbfounded and shocked by those Christians who - while understanding the nature and character of the American New World Order System, and who appreciate the HORROR of the alliance the church (so-called) has made with that system - underestimate the personal danger they are in, and I speak here not so much concerning physical danger, but the danger that in time they will be spiritually compromised. [Please see our article, "Capitalism and Christianity;" please also see our article, "Inside the American New World Order System."]

That is very evidently what concerns the Author of the Revelation when we are told to "Come out of Babylon" (U.S.A.) -

"... THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS ..." (Rev. 18:4b) [Please see Part 1 of Chapter XII of the New Antipas Papers, "In Search of Babylon."]

In Search of Babylon

You don't see what we're talking about here? You really don't see it? Well, all I can say then, is if you don't, it's because you have PURPOSEFULLY chosen NOT to see it. The truth is, the force of DECEPTION has now broken out of the "meeting halls" of the super-church, and has poured out into the streets. The apostate power of people such as Paul Crouch, Jack Hayford, Charles Stanley, D. James Kennedy, Tim LaHaye, the late John Wimber, Juan Carlos Ortiz, C. Peter Wagner, Beverley LaHaye, Ern Baxter, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Chuck Colson, Robert Stearns, Mike Bickle, Reuven Doron, Che Ahn, Frank Hammond, Cindy Jacobs, Bill Hamon, John Eckhardt, Bobbie Byerly, Dutch Sheets, Jim Goll, John Paul Jackson, James Ryle, Frank Damazio, Ed Silvoso, Carlos Annacondia, Claudio Freidzon, Roger Mitchell, Ted Haggart, Paul Cain, Chuck Pierce, Rick Joyner, Kingsley Fletcher, Jim Laffoon, Barbara Wentroble, ad infinitum, ad nauseum has morphed into "street power;" it is no longer confined to the pulpit. [Please see our article, "Hardening Our Hearts: Becoming Prisoners of a Pathology of Hate" and "Teaching American Christians to Hate: Beginning a Crusade against the Gay and Lesbian Community."]

Just because you do not "attend church" on Sundays does not mean you have escaped the power of Religious Babylon: it is slowly tightening its grip on the nation, and it is infusing itself into the nation's political and even its military institutions. [Please see our articles, "Crossing the Rubicon" and "Co-Opting the Anger of the People;" please also see "The Coming Bubba Revolution."]

The truth is, the force of DECEPTION has now broken out of the "meeting halls" of the super-church, and has poured out into the streets.

The fact of the matter is, just as the life (so to speak) of the Nazi state became so intertwined and twisted together with the lives of Germany's individual citizens that it became impossible to function any longer as a human being in Germany without at the same time being involved intimately with the crimes of that nation - SO NOW IT IS FAST BECOMING IMPOSSIBLE TO FUNCTION ANY LONGER AS AN INDIVIDUAL IN THE UNITED STATES WITHOUT BECOMING INVOLVED IN THE GREAT WICKEDNESS THIS COUNTRY IS VISITING ON THE REST OF THE WORLD, AS WELL (AT LEAST INSOFAR AS CHRISTIANS ARE CONCERNED) AS BECOMING INVOLVED WITH THE APOSTASY OF THE SUPER CHURCH THAT IS DRIVING IT.

IT'S ALL HAPPENED BEFORE ...

Morphed Christians
into monsters

Milton Mayer, a well-known essayist, described a similar escalation of control seventy years ago in the gathering storm of German fascism. He interviewed a German philologist who described the process in terms that might sound familiar:

"What happened was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to be governed by surprise, to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believe that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security ...

"The separation of government from the people, this widening gap, took place so gradually and insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as a temporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms (real reforms too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter ...

"Each step was so small, so inconsequential, so well explained or, on occasion, 'regretted' that, unless one were to detach from the whole process from the beginning, unless one understood what the whole thing was in principle, what all these 'little measures' that no 'patriotic German' could resist must some day lead to, ONE NO MORE SAW IT DEVELOPING FROM DAY TO DAY THAN A FARMER IN HIS FIELD SEES THE CORN GROWING ...

ONE NO MORE SAW IT DEVELOPING FROM DAY TO DAY THAN A FARMER IN HIS FIELD SEES THE CORN GROWING ...

"Believe me this is true. Each act, each occasion is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one shocking occasion, THINKING THAT OTHER PEOPLE, WHEN SUCH A SHOCK COMES, WILL JOIN YOU IN RESISTING SOMEHOW ...

"Suddenly it all comes down, all at once. You see what you are, what you have done, or, more accurately, WHAT YOU HAVEN'T DONE (for that was all that was required of most of us: that we did nothing) ... You remember everything now, and your heart breaks. Too late."

THE LORD DELAYETH HIS COMING

Still, people remain caught up in their own private Idahos; in their own unique circumstances. They are hopelessly entangled in the "here and now" – and they are comforted by the thought that the Lord seems to be delaying His coming; a thought that gives them license to put off till tomorrow the kind of radicalism that is necessary to extricate themselves from the danger the Bible says is gathering around them.

They refuse to give any real credence to the Bible's warning:

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (2 Peter 3:9-19)

- or any credence to the Bible's even more somber words:

"But if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin ... to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

"The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Luke 12:45-46)

NO WAY TO GET THROUGH TO PEOPLE ...

All these warnings fall on deaf ears; there seems to be no way to get through to people; to convince them that NOW is the time for action, not tomorrow, nor the next day, nor the day after that. Most Christians today seem to be helpless prisoners of the "here and now," and though from time to time they may be excited by a particular calamity that augurs for the "end of the age," once the commotion of the event dies down, they tend to gravitate back to their old habits of doing things and their old ways of thinking.

As a result, despite the fact that they realize how hopelessly apostate today's Christianity is, and how inextricably bound the church is to the American New World Order System, they are transfixed by what they perceive to be the more pressing "responsibilities" of life: there are payments to be made on visa and mastercards, mortgages to be met, businesses to run; there are "responsibilities" to children and aged parents - and on and on and on; and in taking care of all these things they forget the admonition of the Scriptures concerning Last Things: "that we who "know His will" concerning the "end of the age" are to "prepare ourselves for it" just as Noah did with regard to the Flood (cf. Luke 12:45-47).

"For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matt. 24:37-39)

NOTE: Moreover, in this context it is not as if I have been "off target" insofar as my warnings are concerned: I warned early on of the mortgage meltdown in my 1998 article, "Ponzi Schemes, the Investment Craze and the End of Days;" the derivatives crisis in my 1999 article, "It's Later than We Think;" the present Middle East Crisis in my 2002 article, "Radical Islam."

I elucidated long ago in article after article the meaning of Revelation 6:6 – the relentless grinding down into poverty for most folks as the end of the age draws near, and the isolation and hopelessness this process engenders – the list goes on and on; and many of my friends who refused to listen to me then are suffering now the consequences as they face foreclosure on their homes and the many other horrors that poverty and isolation engender. [Please see my article, "The Background for the End of the Age: Rich verses Poor."]

All this to say nothing of my many colleagues who failed to heed my warning about the danger that they could be compromised and have by now succumbed to the comfortable blandishments of fatalism – i.e., that they are nothing more than a leaf in a river that is flowing down to the sea, and that somehow God will take care of them and everything will turn out okay. But fatalism is nothing more than AN EXCUSE FOR INACTION, a pathetic reason for Christians to avoid uncomfortable choices and put off hard decisions that might inconveniently impact the way they live. Fatalism is a dissimulation - a hypocrisy that allows Christians to cheat insofar as their responsibility to God is concerned.

The fact is, it was the little, routine "responsibilities of life" that hindered the people of Noah's day from responding to God's warning, and so it is with Christians today:

"But as the days of Noe [Noah] were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

"For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

"And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matt. 24:37-39)

Irgun Zvai Leumi

IN THE LIGHT OF ALL THIS ...

In the light of all this, I feel compelled to confront YOU – yes, YOU - with this question: What will YOU do with regard to the crisis of the "End of Days?"

Menachem Begin, the former Prime Minister of Israel, faced a similar crisis in his life and in the life of the Jewish People in the early 1940s. The crisis he faced had to do with whether or not he should wait for the end of World War II and the plodding negotiations of Jewish "mainline moderates" like Dr. Chaim Weizmann and the World Zionist Organization to press the British Mandate Authority to facilitate Jewish immigration to Palestine (all this in addition to having to rely on the maddening timidity of the mainline Jewish defense organization - the Haganah - to secure their safety in Palestine), OR whether he should join up with the radicals, Vladimir Jabotinsky and the Irgun Zvai Leumi - and hang the "niceties of diplomacy."

He finally chose Jabotinsky and the Irgun! - and he never looked back.

Years later, in remarking on the single-mindedness of the organization he finally joined (i.e., the Irgun) he said: "In times like those, there was no greater force than people who -

  •  had the ability to see beyond the concerns of daily life, despite the sometimes very pressing nature of those concerns,
  •  who possessed the capacity for self-sacrifice,

 and

  • who were willing to do something!"

Begin believed that the rest didn't matter! And so it is with us today, the rest doesn't matter! - one's natural talent, one's standing within the church, one's ability to speak, one's wealth, one's education, one's personality, the number of mistakes one has made in his or her life, one's age, one's sex, etc. - all of that is inconsequential in comparison.

A Christian does not go to bed one night in fidelity to the Scriptures and wake up in the morning a full-blown compromiser. If compromise is going to happen, it will happen over time. The first step of compromise is the hardest. Who hasn't faced the choice to remain true to biblical principles or to take the easy road of compromise? The Spirit of God pricks our consciences when we face those choices. You know the voice; Scripture comes to mind, and if we listen, it protects us from making wrong choices. If we have taken that first step of compromise, subsequent steps become easier to take. The term "slippery slope" is a very good way to describe the road to compromise and modernism. Set one foot on the slope of compromise, and you'll find the rest of the downhill slide quick and easy.

-- Lou Martuneac

ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN
SINGULARLY UNSUCCESFUL ...

And so it is that while I have been singularly unsuccessful in getting anyone to listen to me, I will persist in searching for the kind of people who joined themselves to Vladimir Jabotinsky and the Irgun; for the kind of people who possess vision and the capacity for self-sacrifice. And in doing so warning them not to listen to those dear Christian brothers and sisters who claim to see what they (you) see, but who caution "moderation." Those who do so are usually people who have a stake in the status quo; in other words, there's a reason behind their so-called "moderation" - they probably have a lot more to lose than you do. The fact of the matter is, not many rich, not many successful, not many "high church officials" will abandon "moderation" - they have too much to lose. This is why Jesus said,

"... It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God" (Matt. 19:24)

and why Paul said,

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called ..." (1 Cor. 1:26).

THE DANGER OF MODERATION

The "nut circuit"

Mostly, those who caution "moderation" are people who - while they might see objectively what you're talking about and who might even find it stimulating to sit in the safety of their living rooms for hours on end discussing this or that "end-times scenario" - will go ballistic if you actually suggest doing something about it, like, at the very least, leaving the "comfort" (so-called) of one's own home and moving together for mutual support and to have a face-to-face church-life in these difficult times.

That's when the "moderates" panic! That's when people get labeled a "Jim Jones," a "Branch Davidian," a reckless and irresponsible radical, an "Unloving Person." But look beyond the labels and you might see something else at work here! - a selfish effort by the "moderates" to shame you into silence and inaction. Why? - because if such thinking were to really catch on, they would be shown to be what they really are: spiritual cowards who have too much at stake in this world and in the status quo of today's church to get involved - whether it be pastors who have their reputations and pay checks to guard, ministry leaders who depend on "compromised" sources of income, wives who have their "nests" to protect from the "irresponsibility" of a husband who has hit the "nut circuit," Christian business people and professionals who have their "social standing" to protect- and in order to hide that fact, they are willing to stop at nothing to put the "radicals" to an open shame.

Naturally enough, in suggesting we coordinate more closely - and possibly moving together so that we can mutually support one another in the danger we face - I am accused of wanting to start a cult like the Branch Davidians.

"Moderates" are the people who – like my twin brother - are given to writing time-consuming memoranda, holding "bigwig" conferences, "reasoning" with the opposition, discussing things endlessly - and not for the purpose of finding out the truth, but of "buying time" and "confusing the issue" - "Did so and so really say such and such? I don't care whether a thousand witnesses heard him. Let's find out what really happened." The object here, of course, is not to get to the bottom of what happened - after all, if a thousand witnesses won't suffice, nothing will. The real object is to get everything so tied up in red tape that by the time it's all "sorted out," the main issues have been forgotten and the whole thing blown over. [Please see our article, "Courteous Guides on the Road to Hell" and "The Brother Shall Be Divided against the Brother for the Sake of the Word of God."]

To the "moderates," we would simply say this, What does one do with people who purposefully are leading the church into apostasy - reason with them? What's there to reason about? These people know what they're doing! - and you are not the first to question them on these matters. They've heard all the arguments before. What value is there in meeting with such people?

Paul and Jan Crouch

What does one say to a Paul Crouch, for example, when he says that those who are standing against the church's movement into the political sphere to "save America for Christ and the church" should be shot? Discuss with him the kind of gun that is best for such a purpose? Negotiate with him over the ammunition that should be used? What utter nonsense!" - after all, what's at stake here is the church's soul!

There is nothing to negotiate about! And if those you love in the church refuse to go along, and you think to stay for their sake, be assured, you'll accomplish nothing - you're "going" will accomplish more than your "staying" ever could by showing them by deeds rather than words how serious matters really are. Remember, what's at stake here is eternity! - YOUR eternity! Don't be fooled, there is NOTHING you can do any longer to help the "Established Church."

While we admit that embracing radicalism is easy to suggest, but difficult to do - still, if we can't do it, then we have no right to call ourselves "Christian." Isn't that what Jesus meant when He said,

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. AND A MAN'S FOES SHALL BE THEY OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD . He that loveth father or mother more than me IS NOT WORTHY OF ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me IS NOT WORTHY OF ME. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." (Matt. 10:34-39) ?

AND SO ...

And so, at the risk of sounding somewhat depressed about things, I continue in my very lonely vigil – wondering with the prophet Isaiah,

"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?" (Isaiah 53:1)

Still - I take comfort in the words of the prophet Habakkuk,

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

"Yet I will REJOICE in the LORD, I will JOY in the God of my salvation." (Habakkuk 3:17-18)
