ANTIPAS MINISTRIES
BUDGET STATEMENT

THE PURPOSE OF THIS BUDGET STATEMENT

This budget statement is being provided for the public record so readers, subscribers, and supporters of the Antipas Ministries website can better understand our ministry in Canada along with our financial needs and expenses.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

In April of 2004 most of the core group of those who make up Antipas Ministries left the United States to relocate in Forest Grove, British Columbia, Canada.  Our reasons for leaving the United States were based upon God’s prophetic Word as recorded in the Holy Bible and His leading among us as individuals to remove ourselves from America.  An in depth explanation of our reasoning is available at the following link.

Rather than simply move up to Canada worrying only about our own safety and well-being; we had a shared vision, confirmed through much prayer, fellowship, and reinforcement from our readers to create a place from which to base the Internet portion of the ministry, to spread the message more fully on an international basis and to have the room and resources to train others to take this message out into the world.  This shared vision led us to purchase the property now known as the Ranch here in Forest Grove, British Columbia.

The Ranch has three primary residences all of which have needed various degrees of renovation and repair.  It also has two single room cabins, both requiring substantial work; a 100 year old trading post, needing a complete renovation to be turned into a residence; a full service, top of the line horse barn; and an old generator house, which we use as a utility/storage facility.  The property covers a total of 155 acres of which 44 are used for the cultivation of hay, 38 for pasturage, and 82 acres of timber.

We have used the property to raise livestock to help supply our dietary needs, have grown our own hay to feed the livestock, have grown our own vegetables in our garden, and have used the proceeds of harvested timber to pay off money owed on the purchase of the property.

We have not gone this route for pleasure purposes, but have done so in order to maintain an appropriate level of self-sustenance in order to host the visitors we have had during our time here and to keep our expenses at a minimum.  Currently there are 6 people at the ranch.  Since arriving in April of 2004 our numbers have fluctuated from 6 people to 23 people here at any one time.

The people in Canada currently involved in the work of the Ministry including the Ranch are S.R. Shearer, Lucy Shearer, Jack Shearer, and Sean Mayfield.

  • S.R. Shearer is the founder of Antipas Ministries and is responsible for the overwhelming majority of the over 5000 pages of writings on the website.
  • Lucy Shearer is S.R. Shearer’s wife of over 40 years and is responsible for managing the household aspects of the Ranch.
  • Jack Shearer is S.R. and Lucy Shearer’s son and he is the creator and administrator of the Antipas Ministries website.
  • Sean Mayfield is the author of the ISRP Journal, handles correspondence with readers, and assists in the management of the Ranch.

In addition to the group of us who have permanently relocated to the Ranch there are others who are “here with us” and pitch in wherever help is needed and have provided the financial means necessary to keep this place afloat.  First and foremost among these people are Jennifer Hart (S.R. and Lucy Shearer’s oldest daughter) and her husband Christopher Hart.  It is anticipated that Christopher and Jennifer will be here on a full-time basis soon.  Also of note are Fred and Cheryl Palmquist who have loaned us financial support and given us furniture and provisions, Don and Eileen Hansen who have gone to great financial lengths to help us purchase the Ranch and keep things going, and Brian Swanson who has bought many of the tools we need for renovations and done a great deal of the renovation work. Additionally there have been many others who have supplied us with tools, furniture, and provisions, while also participating in the work needed to keep this place going.

In times past we were able to draw upon our own personal income sources outside of ministry contributions in order to cover our needs here. Yet, recent events have altered this dynamic and it is now necessary for us to depend upon our readers to support the work of this ministry.  In short the amount of outside income we have been able to garner is going to drastically reduce for the foreseeable future.  Over the past few months we have repeatedly stressed our needs to the public in general terms, but now we at Antipas Ministries are going to provide the details on what is required to keep this ministry intact.  As stated earlier, the needs as spelled out below include more than is necessary for our own personal livelihood, but are instead what is required to keep the Internet ministry and our international efforts going as well as maintain the ranch.  No personal salaries are included in the figures below and all efforts are always made to keep all expenses to a minimum.

Whether or not this ministry survives is up to our readers.  We are one of the most visited Christian websites on the Internet and we quite literally preach a message, which few if any others are preaching.  Across the globe there is great interest in this message and recent months have seen believers from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America come on board with a commitment to labor with us in spreading the Word.  Yet these brothers and sisters are poor, just as we are poor.  So once again, it is up to YOU, our readers to keep this good work going and enable us to equip the saints more fully to carry it throughout the world.

Below you will find a break down of our current pressing needs, contributions, outside income, expenses, project needs, and our current deficit.  This information will be updated on a weekly basis so that interested parties can always be aware of the details involved in making Antipas Ministries work.
