viewpoint that Antipas is purveying to the world, and are

THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS
Dear brothers and sisters on the Lord; I refer you
all to Mark 13:4-8:
And the disciples came to Jesus and asked:
"Tell us, when shall these things be? AND WHAT SHALL BE THE SIGN WHEN
ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE FULFILLED?
"And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive
you:
"For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive
many.
"And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled:
for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be
yet.
"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: AND
THERE SHALL BE EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERSE PLACES, and there
shall be famines and troubles: THESE ARE THE BEGINNINGS
OF SORROWS." (Mark 13:4-8)
Recently we sent out a report on the earthquake in
Haiti, and we received a number of replies which took us to task regarding
the somewhat comforting words contained in verse 7 above: "... be
ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end
shall not be yet;" but in doing so, they are being very cavalier
about the warning here.
The
question that the disciples asked is, WHEN WILL
ALL THESE THINGS BE FULFILLED? The reply that Jesus gave
His disciples was that THESE particular things – i.e. "earthquakes
in diverse places, etc." – do not BY THEMSELVES signify that
the end is imminent; that is to say, that the end will occur on an IMMEDIATE
basis – and for that reason – and for that reason alone – one should not worry:
THERE IS STILL TIME TO PREPARE ONE'S SOUL FOR WHAT IS TO SHORTLY COME TO
PASS.
But what Jesus does say – which should be a cause for some concern - is this:
"THESE ARE THE BEGINNINGS OF SORROWS"
– specifically, an enormous increase in earthquake activity. This phrase – i.e., the "BEGINNING OF SORROWS"
- is not some "happenchance" phrase; it has a very significant
BIBLICAL meaning. We refer you to the NEW ANTIPAS
PAPERS, Part 2, Chapter IX, "The
Course and Character of the Last Days."
No! – These earthquakes do not mean that the END itself
has come – but one should be very concerned that we are entering
that specific time-frame that the Bible refers to as the BEGINNING
OF SORROWS (see below):

New York, NY - A major Earthquake hit Chile today.
A major 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck 200 miles southwest of Santiago ...
It is estimated the Chile earthquake today was 1,000 times more powerful than
the earthquake that struck Haiti in January. Reports on twitter say the Chile
earthquake today was felt as far away as Japan and Argentina ... The Pacific
Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning for Chile and Peru. A lesser Tsunami
warning was issued for Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Antarctica.
They said a Tsunami could hit Hawaii later in the day.
The Chilean earthquake today struck at 3:34 a.m.
local time and was centered about 200 miles southwest of Santiago, at a depth
of 22 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Reportedly this 8.8 Magnitude Chile earthquake today,
February 27, 2010, will rank it among the top 10 most powerful earthquakes
on record.
All this in addition to the 7.2 earthquake that hit Japan yesterday:
