that purvey an "escapist" mentality insofar as the "end

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
FROM COLOMBIA
Antipas Brethren,
I am very poor by American
standards, but, count me in. Just sent money, will continue on a monthly basis.
I emailed a few months ago
and told you that I am taking Steve’s message to heart. I've read Antipas
for several years, corresponded on occasion and gave irregularly. My Colombian
wife and I are leaving for Colombia for six months, beginning 12/01/10. We
leave to visit her family and to find opportunities for ministering to the
poor. I will need to return at the end of six months but will get up some
more money and leave again.
I don't know how it will all work out, but I will be looking
for a country to call "home", i.e. one that doesn't
spend its time bombing the hell out of civilians, invading countries,
and ruining whole nations. (sounds like the US to me and I'm
glad to get out.) at least most of the year. I will return to
see my kids and aging parents and hopefully prepare a place,
God willing, for those I love to escape to as well as for me
and my wife.
I have read extensively
at Tribnet and somewhat vacillated between the two opinions. My philosophy
is this, if one is unsure which is absolutely the correct thing to do or whatever,
then choose the more narrow road. It’s worked so far. It is also the road,
I believe that is the one to God’s Kingdom.
Yes, I'm scared and barely
have a clue what to do. But Steve’s messages on the rich and the poor are
so plain that only someone whose heart is really in this world could miss
it. It is not a joke and your eternal salvation depends on it.
As for me, I'm outta here.
I pray for Steve and company
that they get out of here too. Unless you really hear God’s voice about Canada,
well, choose Latin America.
Its warm
and you can grow food year round in many different places. Nicaragua has the
Central Highlands (Matagalpa) where it is spring year round. There are
countless truly poor who need whatever we have to give. Canada is
just America lite. Go to the
poor and preach and demonstrate the gospel until whatever happens.
