In America, it's quite simple to lose focus and become sidetracked by family, success, and wealth. Each of these can distract individuals from staying vigilant and ready for the End, placing them in danger of drifting away from God. Most people have a desire for love and finding their ideal partner, which often leads to building a family and settling down. That is a defining characteristic of Matthew 24:19.
