THE TRUTH ABOUT
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE
UKRAINE; MANAGING DEMOCRACY

INTRODUCTION

On Sunday, December 12, 2004, Bill Schneider of CNN's "Inside Politics" reported from Paris that all of Europe is aflame (and very fearful) by what appears to be the attempted poisoning of Viktor Yushchenko - presumably at the hands of Russia's KGB. Yushchenko is the "darling" of the West, the leader of the Ukraine's "Chestnut Revolution" or "Orange Revolution," a man who has promised to once and for all free the Ukraine from Russia's grip, open up the country to the so-called "fresh air of Western capitalism," and finish off the privatization process of the Ukrainian economy. He is opposed by "Russia's man," Viktor Yanukovich, who is portrayed by the Western media as a dark, sinister figure who wants to turn the clock back to the "bad, old days" of the Soviet Empire. A victory for Yanukovich is pictured by the Western media as the start of a Russian "re-conquest" of the Ukraine and a Russian comeback in Eastern Europe - and that thought TERRIFIES Russia's former satellite nations.

The story is being "played" for all its worth! The Western media is full of before-and-after pictures of the once handsome Yushchenko: the sight of his puffy, ravaged face, pitted with ugly pustules, is not a pretty sight. Something is surely wrong - it's there for all the world to see; but three months ago, Yushchenko was examined at a hospital in Vienna, Austria, and the New York Times reported that at that time the hospital found that the -

"... accusation that he (Yushchenko) had been poisoned was baseless."

What happened in the interim? - i.e., between the time when the hospital claimed Yushchenko had not been poisoned (the middle of September) and now when the hospital reversed its original diagnoses. A WHOLE LOT OF DEATH THREATS directed at the team of doctor's involved in the diagnosis - that's what happened! Moreover, others were threatened as well - for example, a Ukrainian parliament member who served on a commission investigating the incident, and who had publicly dismissed the idea of Yushchenko's poisoning, had a land mine placed outside his house.

WHY ALL THE DEATH THREATS?

Why all the death threats? Who was behind them? Most in the West - with the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal taking the lead - claimed that the KGB was behind them. But if the KGB had been behind the poisoning, surely they would not want their handiwork confirmed. They would have been happy at the hospital's original diagnosis (i.e., that there had been no poisoning), Yushchenko's subsequent death, and the quiet ascension of Russia's man, Viktor Yanukovich, to the presidency. But that's not what was happening; whoever "poisoned" Yushchenko wanted the world to know about it.

THEY WANTED A DIAGNOSIS OF POISONING, AND THEY WANTED THE BLAME TO FALL ON RUSSIA'S KGB - and that's precisely what's happening now with the reversal of the hospital's first diagnosis. The doctors had gotten the message, and had decided as a result that what Yushchenko was suffering from after all was poisoning - dioxin poisoning - and a mysterious "third party" was involved (by implication, the KGB). ONCE AGAIN, EUROPE CONVULSED IN FEAR - AND ALL EYES TURNED TO RUSSIA! Was "Mother Russia" up to her old tricks?

With this final denouement, the death threats stopped; and the obscure forces behind the poisoning appeared to be satisfied with the message that was now being conveyed to the world: RUSSIA IS BENT ON "RE-CONQUERING" THE UKRAINE AND, ipso facto, MAKING A COMEBACK IN EASTERN EUROPE - and the poisoning of Yushchenko is the opening shot in what Alan Cullison and Guy Chazan of the Wall Street Journal, call -

"Mr. Putin's efforts to reassert Russia's dominance in the region (i.e., Eastern Europe)."

INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH

Interestingly, that's EXACTLY the message that the neocons in the Bush administration want the world to hear as well. For example, David Frum (former Bush speech writer and author of the notorious "axis of evil" line) never ceases to portray Russia as a "wounded bear" biding her time, just waiting for a comeback in Eastern Europe. He writes,

"... an independent Russia can be a normal country with a democratic future; but Russia plus the Ukraine is the Russian empire, WHICH CAN NEVER BE A DEMOCRACY." [Obviously, according to Frum, any nation which opposes or can potentially oppose the American New World Order System cannot be a democracy. That's a "given" insofar as the neocons are concerned.]

Of course, by the word "democracy" Frum means the kind of "puppet-state" democracy to which the other nations of the American New World Order System are subjected - the kind of "democracy" (so-called) that the U.S. promotes among the nations of Central America, Thailand, the Philippines, Egypt, Algeria, the Congo, ad nauseum, ad infinitum. UP IS DOWN AND BLACK IS WHITE

STRANGE THINGS ARE EVIDENTLY GOING ON IN THE UKRAINE, in a world where up is down, black is white, right is left, and where deceit is the "coin of the realm." It's enough to make the 19th Century's "Master of Deceit," Pyotr Ivanovich Rachkovsky, turn over in his grave in glee. Rachkovsky was the head of Imperial Russia's Okhrana. The Okhrana was the chief organ of Russia's Secret Police before the Russian Revolution of 1917. A Russian contemporary described him as "... slightly too ingratiating in his manners and his suave way of speaking ... which made one think of a great cat carefully concealing his claws."

Rachkovsky was a born intriguer who delighted in forging documents. One of his favorite methods of sewing discord in the ranks of the opposition was to forge a letter or pamphlet in which a supposed revolutionary attacked other revolutionaries. Divide and Conquer! For example, in 1887 there appeared in the press a letter by a certain "P. Ivanov" who claimed - quite falsely - that the majority of the revolutionaries were Jews. In 1890 there appeared another pamphlet accusing certain revolutionaries who had taken refuge in London of being British spies. In 1892 a letter appeared over the famous name of Plekhanov, accusing the leadership of Narodnaya Volya of having published the "confessions" of Plekhanov. A few weeks later came another letter in which Plekhanov in turn was attacked by other supposed revolutionaries. In reality, all these documents were forged by one man - Rachkovsky! Rachkovsky’s life was filled with such intrigues.

THE TWISTED, GNARLED
WORLD OF THE CIA AND THE FBI

However, the main instigator of this kind of intrigue is no longer the Okhrana, or even its communist successor, the KGB; it's the CIA and its sister organization, the FBI - AND ALL THE WORLD IS FULL OF THEIR INTRIGUES. There is no end to them - take what the CIA has done in Latin America, from Arbenz in Guatemala, to Allende in Chile, to Hugo Chavez in Venezuela; and not just there, but in the Congo with Patrice Lumumba and what's happening today in the Sudan; and what about the CIA's intrigues in Asia and the Middle East? - to say nothing of it's conniving with the Radical Islamists, and its hateful involvement with drug trafficking; finally, of course, there is the matter of Iraq. And that's just the CIA. What about what the FBI did to Bobby Seale and the Black Panther Party (to say nothing of Geronomo Pratt) back in the 1960s, and with Martin Luther King, Jr., and just recently what it did to Judi Bari in Oakland, California? The list is almost endless. UNRAVELING AN INTRIGUE; WHAT COUNTRY
IS BEING ADVANTAGED? - THE U.S.

Now, in unraveling intrigues, it's necessary to back off from the central intrigue itself, and ask yourself, Who is benefiting? Is there a common thread in all of the machinations and the ancillary collusions that follow?

To do otherwise (i.e., to attack the intrigue directly), is to lose yourself in a world of utter confusion; a world of mysteries wrapped in other mysteries and connected to a never ending string of riddles and endless conundrums - and for those who know my background, you should understand that I know what I am talking about here.

You MUST back away from it all, and ask yourself the question, Who is being advantaged? And if you ask that question, one nation - and ONLY ONE NATION SPRINGS TO MIND: THE U.S.A. !

WHY?

To understand why, you must realize that the U.S. is locked in a huge battle with the European Economic Community for world supremacy - though it's not really so much a war for supremacy itself (the U.S. is unquestionably the world's sole SUPERPOWER) as it is that the EU wants - as Gary Leupp, a Professor at Tufts University, puts it -

"... at least a (larger) share of the pie. So they keep standing in Washington's way, or trying to."

And it's not just that: the truth is, the Europeans genuinely resent the fact of American hegemony and feel humiliated by it. These nations hope to build Europe into a counterweight of sorts to the United States. Indeed, the effort by the Europeans to work a deal with Saddam Hussein to open Iraq up to the euro rather than the dollar played a large (though hidden) part in America's decision to go to war there to block the expansion of the "euro sphere" into the oil producing regions of the Middle East. THE ACHILLES HEEL OF EUROPE'S STRATEGY

The problem with Germany's and France's strategy of forging NATO and the EU into institutions they can use to counterweight U.S. world hegemony is that the nations of Eastern Europe - whose numbers in both the EU and NATO now surpass those of what Secretary of Defense derisively calls "old Europe" - still genuinely fear Russia and LOOK TO THE UNITED STATES TO GUARANTEE THEIR SAFETY AGAINST A POSSIBLE RUSSIAN RESURGENCE. What could Germany and France - with their minuscule and insignificant militaries - do to help? NOTHING! - and the creation of a "Euro-Force" of ten so-called "brigades" of 2,000 men each, brigades (largely infantry with no significant armor) that wouldn't even qualify as battalions in the U.S. military, barely registers as a 1 on the world's military Richter scale. No help there for the Eastern Europeans in the case of a Russian resurgence. No! - they look to the U.S. for their security. Moreover, with each new Eastern European addition to both the EU and NATO, Germany's and France's influence in both organizations is that much more diminished.

Niall Green of the W.S.W.S. agrees; he writes:

"... The continental European elites (meaning the elites of Germany and France) fear, with justification, that the expansion of NATO (and the EU) is being carried out at the direct expense of their influence." [And one should understand that this expansion is being driven largely by the machinations of the United States in order to further dilute the influence of these two nations (i.e., France and Germany) in both institutions.]

Green elaborates:

"For France and Germany the inclusion of so many pro-U.S. countries in NATO (and the EU) sees their position within the alliance further weakened. Paris and Berlin are conscious of the fact that the U.S. will utilize its clout with the new members to increase its weight within NATO (and the EU) and stifle any criticism of U.S. foreign policy." [Interestingly, what all this is doing is making the United States - even though it's not an EU member - the most powerful element in that institution.]

DIMINISHING EUROPE FURTHER BY FORCING IT TO
COME "HAT-IN-HAND" TO THE U.S. FOR ITS OIL NEEDS

Moreover, in addition to diminishing "old Europe's" influence in both NATO and the EU by adding new pro-U.S. countries to these institutions, the U.S. has also embarked upon a policy to limit Europe's DIRECT access to energy resources by using its military to CUT EUROPE OFF FROM THE OIL WEALTH OF CENTRAL ASIA AND THE CASPIAN SEA BASIN. Indeed, what the U.S. has done is envelope Europe in a Cordone Sanitaire (a kind of quarantine) using Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Romania, and Bulgaria as a barricade to hem in and isolate "old Europe." Leupp writes:

"U.S. policy is very clear. Washington wants to gain control over the flow of oil from the Caspian Sea (and limit Europe's access to it)."

By insulating "old Europe" in this fashion and cutting it off from the oil riches of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea basin, the U.S. has forced both Germany and France into an humiliating situation where they must go "hat in hand" to the U.S. in order to secure access Eurasian oil; by doing so, the U.S. has guaranteed European submission to American hegemony into the foreseeable future. The Europeans may chafe at all this; they may make trouble for the U.S. from time to time; but in the end there's not much they can do. They MUST BOW TO U.S. DOMINATION - after all, he who controls the oil wealth of these areas, ultimately controls Europe.

BUILDING U.S. MILITARY BASES IN "NEW EUROPE"

To safeguard this result [i.e., to secure and strengthen U.S. hegemony over Europe and deny Europe (i.e., old Europe, and most specifically, France and Germany) direct access to the oil regions of the Eurasian land mass], the U.S. is - as Gary Leupp describes it -

"... acquiring military bases in the former Soviet republics ... pursuant to the unpredictably expanding 'War on Terrorism' ..."

Niall Green describes what the results have been; he writes:

"Using its network of military bases and bilateral agreements ... the U.S. armed forces can now maneuver men and equipment in an almost UNBROKEN CORRIDOR that passes through the continent's major centers of oil and gas extraction and transportation from the Baltic coast to the Caspian basin (effectively cutting Europe in half) ..." [And it's important to note in this THAT THE "UNBROKEN CORRIDOR" THAT GREEN DESCRIBES WORKS BOTH WAYS - AS A WALL AGAINST A RUSSIAN RESURGENCE IN EASTERN EUROPE, AND AS A BARRIER AGAINST "OLD EUROPE'S" EXPANSION INTO THE OIL PRODUCING REGIONS OF CENTRAL ASIA AND THE CASPIAN SEA.]

ADDING THE UKRAINE TO AMERICA'S
EASTERN EUROPEAN BARRICADE

Bringing the Ukraine into the American orbit and cementing it into America's Cordone Sanitaire could only help strengthen America's wall around "Old Europe" and Russia, and assist in cutting both off from direct access to the oil riches of the Eurasian land mass.

Justin Raimondo writes:

"U.S. troops are already in Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. HOW LONG BEFORE THEY ARE IN KIEV, training 'President' Yushchenko's NATO-ized military in the use of American equipment?"

THE KEY TO THE AMERICAN STRATEGY

Naturally enough, THE KEY TO AMERICAN SUCCESS WITH REGARD TO THIS STRATEGY IS TO PLAY "NEW EUROPE" OFF ON "OLD EUROPE" - AND THAT IS DEPENDENT ON FANNING THE EAST EUROPEANS' FEAR OF A RUSSIAN RESURGENCE IN EUROPE.

Anything that would diminish this fear in the minds of the Eastern European nations would only serve to lessen the influence of America in this region, and anything that would stoke the fear of a Russian resurgence plays right into the hands of the United States.

WHO BENEFITS FROM THE "YUSHCHENKO AFFAIR"

SO, I ASK AGAIN, WHO BENEFITS BY "SCARING THE SH-T" OUT OF THE EASTERN EUROPEANS IN THE "YUSHCHENKO AFFAIR?" The Russians? OR the Americans? How can the Russians benefit by playing into the fear of the Eastern Europeans by poisoning Yushchenko? They can't! There is only one nation that benefits! - THE UNITED STATES!

And, again, how does the U.S. benefit? - by keeping the Eastern Europeans clinging to America's apron strings by fanning the belief that Russia is planning a resurgence in Eastern Europe using the Ukraine as its "jumping off" point.

THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR TO BE

What a twisted, gnarled world the American New World Order System is - a world where, as George Orwell describes it, "WAR IS PEACE;" "SLAVERY IS FREEDOM;" and "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH;" a world where up is down, black is white, and left is right; a world where, as Paul Neuman said to Sally Field in Absence of Malice,

"Things are not always what they appear to be."

Sadly, that's the kind of "reality" that Americans are living in today, a world where that which is false is depicted as true, where the truth is "morphed" into a lie, where people like Viktor Yushchenko and the orange-bedecked "chestnut revolutionaries" in the streets of Kiev are not really the "champions of peace and democracy" that the Wall Street Journal makes them out to be, and where Viktor Yanukovich and his supporters in the coal mines of the eastern Ukraine are not really the hulking throwbacks to the dark days of Stalinist authoritarianism that the Western media is depicting them as. The American elites call this kind of deceit and duplicity "BUILDING DEMOCRACY." That's really what they call it! I'm not being facetious here.

YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED

Indeed, Edward Bernays, in his 1928 book, Propaganda, calls the kind of thing that is happening today in the Ukraine the -

"The conscious and intelligent MANIPULATION of the ... habits and opinions of the masses ..." [That means YOU!]

The fact is, this type of fraudulent "truth-telling" is the "every-day norm" throughout the American New World Order System, and it has been for years. Take, for example, what the U.S. did during the Haitian crisis several years ago. American "Psy Ops" teams - in an attempt to discredit the Haitian government - began jamming the signals of the government controlled radio station in Port au Prince, "morphing" those signals, and then re-transmitting them back to the Haitian people. The purpose of the operation was to "put words into the mouths" of those Haitian government officials who opposed the American intervention (words that had been wholly "manufactured" by the Americans) that were calculated to infuriate the Haitian people against them.

MANAGING FREEDOM

Bernays saw this kind of fallacious "truth-telling" as necessary insofar as modern-day democracies were concerned - which he and his elite masters thought had taken the concept of democracy or "people power" too far. The fact is, by Bernays' time (the early 1900s) it was understood by the elites - both in Britain and the United States, supposedly the two most democratic nations in the world - that the "common people" had won too much freedom, and that a way had to be found to "manage" their freedom - i.e., to "intelligently MANIPULATE" them - if the capitalist system were to survive. After all, the unseemly and MASSIVE accumulation of wealth that the Wall Street Moguls of that era had hoarded to themselves - all at the expense of the poor - was not something very much calculated to make the poor happy - and if one vote per person is all that it would take to change things, what chance did the rich have in holding on to their ill-gotten gain? Not much - there are certainly a lot more of the poor than there are of the rich.

No! - democracy for the poor had to be "managed," which meant, naturally enough, that it had to be limited insofar as the poor were concerned. Bernays (and his disciple, Walter Lippman - the dean of modern-day American journalism) called this management of the poor "BUILDING DEMOCRACY." Both Bernays and Lippman believed that average people - meaning YOU and others like you - were too dumb to think for themselves, and that - as a result - unfettered democracy in their hands was an extremely dangerous thing.

Bernays was also a strong believer that people were clods, and that they could be easily manipulated - and he proved it by planning and managing a campaign for a group of cigarette companies aimed at trying to get women to smoke. He had attractive, chic-looking female models walk up and down Fifth Avenue in New York City smoking cigarettes and showing how it supposedly made them beautiful and slim. The campaign was a smashing success, and soon thereafter the United Fruit Company hired him to help portray its economic rape of Central America as "an experiment in democracy." AN ORWELLIAN CONCEPT

By now - almost a century later - "BUILDING DEMOCRACY" (so-called) has become ORWELLIAN in its impact on the American people; it surrounds them, it hems them in, it circumfuses them SO THAT THEY NO LONGER HAVE ANY REAL IDEA OF WHAT THE TRUTH IS - and, again, not only Americans, but those poor unfortunates throughout the world for whom the American Army is supposedly "BUILDING DEMOCRACY." Again, black is white, down is up, left is right and TYRANNY IS DEMOCRACY. For example, take what democracy means today to the Iraqi citizens of the city of Fallujah. Ron Jacobs describes this kind of democracy:

"Retina scans to get into your own home. Work details under armed guard. No cars. Military armor on every corner. All men to be shot on sight after curfew. No freedom of movement. These are just some of the details of the new order in Fallujah [and one assumes any other Iraqi city that the U.S. ... ('liberates') in the future - Jacobs]. Somewhere between a concentration camp and what U.S. troops called a strategic hamlet in Vietnam, this is the latest version of Washington's freedom and democracy regime in Iraq ..."

Jacobs continues:

"Another less-publicized aspect of the police state mechanisms that the U.S. hopes to put in place in Fallujah is the creation of so-called work brigades that would essentially force male residents of Fallujah into forced labor battalions."

"I can almost see these men now wearing khaki overalls with the flag of the U.S.-created Baghdad regime sewn on the back, and their name and address stitched onto the front breast pocket. Just like the chain gangs in the southern states of the U.S., these men will be working under armed guard. Perhaps they'll even be forced to wear chains around their ankles as they rebuild the city their captors destroyed in the name of their freedom and liberty. I even have a design idea for the city's entry gates.

"How about an archway with the Arab equivalent of the words 'Arbeit macht frei'? [The meaning of the phrase is "work makes one free." This inscription appeared over the entrance to the German death camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau - editor]

"I mean, what with the napalm our military dropped on the city during its modern day equivalent of Nazi Germany's ovens. Sure, the incineration of our fellow humans by napalm is not as methodical as that arranged by Adolph Eichmann and his cohorts, but that's only because those who are doing the burning in our name don't have to be selective in whom they kill. After all, their commander has told these soldiers that THE IRAQIS DESERVE TO DIE BECAUSE THEY WEAR THE FACE OF SATAN." [That, very plainly is what the Religious Right is saying - please see our article, "A Woman Riding a Beast Going Forth Conquering and to Conquer."]

LITTLE ANGELS IN THE SERVICE OF FREEDOM

Again, up is down; black is white; right is left; calling what's happened to the citizens of Fallujah "BUILDING DEMOCRACY;" portraying the presence of America's multinational corporations throughout the world as "little angels" in the service of humanity rather than what they really are - ravenous wolves; putting words into the mouths of one's enemies calculated to infuriate people against them; presenting the American intervention in Iraq (and before Iraq, Panama, Colombia, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc.) as a humanitarian operation (and making sure that the American people are overwhelmed by pictures to that effect); and, finally, picturing America as a benevolent giant rather than what it really is, a BEAST which is -

"... exceeding dreadful, whose teeth are of iron, and his nails of brass; which devours, brakes in pieces, and stamps the residue (of the nations) with his feet ..." (Daniel 7:19)

AMERICANS HAVE LOST ANY IDEA
OF WHAT THE TRUTH REALLY IS

Indeed, so successful has the American effort in this regard been that despite the BRUTAL expansion of the American new World Order System into the world at large - an expansion which includes as an integral part of its method of "population control" the systematic use of TERROR, HORROR, and REPRESSION - the American people seem hardly to have noticed its dreadful growth.

Moreover, all this has occurred despite the fact that the extension of the American Empire has involved as part of its massive growth a concomitant projection of America's military presence that includes OVER 3,000 MILITARY BASES IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES and incessant interventions in the affairs of other states that are unmatched by any other country (including the old Soviet Union) in number, scale, violence, and global reach.

Nevertheless, the truth is that notwithstanding all the evidence to the contrary, most Americans seem to come quite naturally to the thought that America is in the vanguard of the defense of human rights throughout the world. GETTING BACK TO THE U.S.
INTERVENTION IN THE UKRAINE

And, again, that's exactly what the U.S. is doing today in the Ukraine in making Viktor Yushchenko out to be a "man of the people" whose victory will - in the sarcastic words of Justin Raimondo - "... cause the fresh winds of free-market reform to blow through the sealed chamber of corruption that is the Ukrainian economy," and picturing Yanukovich as "... a Soviet-type bureaucrat whose ties to Russia ... automatically makes him a bad guy." And indeed he is. According to the Western media (e.g., the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times), Yanukovich has a "criminal record;" and that's true! He served two jail terms while he was a young man for holding up two Ukrainian gas stations for a few dollars to literally feed his starving family; and he did "time" for these offenses.

But what the American press doesn't tell you is that Yushchenko has also been involved in thievery. But it wasn't the "nickel and dime" stuff that Yanukovich was involved in (an effort to put food on his table). It was for hundreds of millions of dollars looted from the Ukrainian central bank in the service of an oligarchic system of "crony capitalism" that has impoverished the Ukrainian people, a crony capitalism that is linked to the masters of the American New World Order System - all of whom are bent on pillaging the Ukraine of its people's labor and natural resources.

Yanukovich opposes tying the Ukrainian economy to the American new World Order System, while Yushchenko is willing to sell the Ukraine and its people out as a puppet state in the American Empire, and Yushchenko has found a willing buyer in America. The fact is, THERE ARE REAL RICHES TO BE HAD in the Ukraine, and where there is wealth to be had, there you will find the Americans gathered. As Jesus said,

"For wheresoever the carcase is (in this case, the Ukraine), there will the ... (vultures) [in this case, the Americans] be gathered together." (Matt. 24:28)

BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN THE UKRAINE U.S.-STYLE

"BUILDING DEMOCRACY" - that's what the U.S. is up to in the Ukraine? That's certainly what they want you to think! But it's not that at all; it's NOTHING more than a gigantic Public Relations campaign that is, as Ian Taylor of London's Guardian Newspaper describes it, a very -

"... a sophisticated and brilliantly conceived ... (American) creation ... (that is) FUNDED AND ORGANIZED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT deploying U.S. consultancies, pollsters, diplomats, the two big American parties and U.S. funded non-government organizations ..."

Jonathan Steele agrees that it's a sham operation; he writes:

"'American advisors' have been directing and funding the entire Yushchenko operation, just as they did in the former Yugoslavia, with money pouring in from the U.S. Treasury ..."

And it's not just the U.S. government per se that's behind Yushchenko's candidacy; the roster reads like a Who's Who of the world's richy-riches: John Laughland writes:

"The (American) New World Order strategists are determined to put their man in control of the Ukraine ... These national strategic interests are, as ever, supported by the private interests of the powerful ... (led by) Conoco Phillips - the strategic ally of Chevron, on whose board Condoleezza Rice sat for many years ..."

What's that make Yushchenko's "Chestnut Revolution" out to be? - A "PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION" THAT IS FLYING THE CORPORATE FLAGS OF CONOCO-PHILLIPS AND CHEVRON OIL? It sure looks that way. Traynor says that the so-called "Chestnut Revolution" or the "Orange Revolution" that has been unleashed in the Ukraine is an exact copy of the campaign that was let loose in Belgrade against Slobodan Milosevic. Milosevic was targeted because he refused to knuckle under to the demands of the United States to "privatize" Yugoslavia's economy and sell it off to the Americans. The campaign to demonize and finally overturn Milosevic - first by breaking up the Yugoslav Federation and then toppling him by "BUILDING DEMOCRACY" in Serbia proper - was masterful. U.S. POLLSTERS AND PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANTS

The person in charge of this campaign was Richard Mills, the U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade. The operation was run out of a dingy office in the center of the Serbian capital; it was staffed by computer-literate young people who called themselves the Center for Non-violent Resistance. They were all part of the Otpor Movement, which means "resistance." Otpor used a potent, simple slogan that suddenly appeared everywhere in Serbia in 2000 - the two words "gotov je," meaning "he's finished," a reference to Milosevic. A logo of a black-and-white clenched fist completed the brilliant "trademark." [Similar logos have "popped up" in Belarus, Georgia, and so forth; for example, in the Ukraine, the logo was a ticking clock with the words "his time is up" - meaning that Yanukovich's time was up.]

These are all "marketing strategies" organized by U.S. pollsters and professional consultants who were hired to organize focus groups and use psychological data to plot strategy - THE VERY SAME ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN SO SUCCESSFULLY USED BY THE U.S. ELITES IN CO-OPTING THE CHRISTIAN RIGHT IN THE UNITED STATES AND TURNING CHRISTIANS INTO TOADIES FOR THE AMERICAN NEW WORLD SYSTEM. Indeed, the idea to use the clenched fist and the words, "he's finished" in Serbia, and the ticking clock with the words, "his time is up" in the Ukraine originated from the work of these professionals.

The operation was funded by the U.S. government operating through a number of "front organizations" such as USAID, etc., and NGOs like the Freedom House and the Open Society Institute.

THE CAMPAIGN BEGINS

Typically, after a country has been chosen by the U.S. in which to "build democracy" and - ipso facto - be added to the American New World Order System as a "client-state," a campaign is launched to unite the often fractious opposition behind a single candidate. Often a candidate is chosen who has anti-American credentials, but someone whose soul the Americans think they can eventually "buy." For example, in Serbia, U.S. pollsters Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates discovered that the pro-western opposition leader Zoran Djindjic was reviled at home and had no chance of beating Milosevic in an election - even in a rigged election. He was persuaded to take a back seat to the ostensibly anti-American candidate Vojislav Kostunica.

Then, according to Traynor, young activists - "bought and paid for by U.S. funds" and organized by the so-called "student activists (in Serbia, Otpor; in the Ukraine, Pora; in Belarus, Zubr; in Georgia, Khmara, etc.) - are turned loose in the streets. Traynor writes:

"Stickers, spray paint and websites are the young activists' weapons. Irony and street comedy mocking the regime have been hugely successful in puncturing public fear and enraging the powerful ..."

PARALLEL VOTE TABULATION

According to Traynor, the next step in America's process of "BUILDING DEMOCRACY" in a former Soviet republic or satellite nation is what's called "parallel vote tabulation." This is a three phase operation involving -

1. Phony pre-election polling.
2. "Procured" election monitors.
3. Sham exit polling.

The process is designed to "prove" - should the "pro-government" candidate win - that the elections had to have been rigged. This is exactly what the followers of Viktor Yushchenko claimed after Viktor Yanukovich won the Ukrainian election. This is a very expensive operation involving highly paid pollsters, professional outside election monitors, and exit pollsters, all "bought and paid for" by American money moving through various front organizations in exactly the same fashion that al Qaeda moves money through various "do-gooder" organizations.

For example, in the recent elections in the Ukraine, Freedom House helped fund and organize the largest civil regional election monitoring in the Ukraine, involving more than 1,000 "trained" (i.e., pro-American) monitors. They also organized the exit polls. What all this - i.e., the feigned pre-election polls, the "paid-for" election monitors, and the bogus exit polling - is designed to do is discredit a "pro-government" win - whether a win by Milosevic in Serbia, a victory by Lukashenko in Belarus, a triumph by Eduard Schevardnadze in Georgia, or wherever.

THE PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GREY

Again, what all this is, is "building democracy" American-style; but there is a price to be paid for those who "sell themselves out" as lackeys and "toadies" to the Americans in this fashion. Justin Raimondo describes the price; he writes concerning the price Yushchenko is paying:

"The prince becomes a toad - and, no, I seriously doubt that Yushie's (i.e., Yushchenko's) physical deterioration has anything to do with a nefarious plot by Putin's KGB against his good looks. Instead, let me suggest an alternative theory ... and it is this: PERHAPS THE FAUSTIAN DEAL YUSHCHENKO MADE WITH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT HAS TAKEN ITS TOLL, and, as in the dramatic climax of Oscar Wilde's famous tale, The Portrait of Dorian Grey, his sins are being visited on his once-handsome visage, ravaging it - and revealing his inner soul."

And this is what will happen to all those who stay connected to the United States; who try to strike a Faustian bargain with this seductress "...with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication" (Rev. 17:2); it's for this precise reason that the Bible says:

" Come out of her, my people, THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SIN, AND THAT YE RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES." (Rev. 18:4)

If you remain connected to her, YOU will be changed - like Dorian Grey; YOU will be transformed; remade into something hideous and ugly, though you will probably be the last one to recognize what's happening to you. You are making a big mistake in "playing around" with this seductress - HER HOUSE IS THE WAY TO HELL, GOING DOWN TO THE CHAMBERS OF DEATH." (Proverbs 7:4-27) It's not without reason that the Bible says that Babylon has -

"... become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." (Rev. 18:2)

YOU CANNOT WITHSTAND THE DECEIT OF BABYLON

Do you really think that you can "play" (as it were) with these spirits and not get burned? Evil spirits who -

"... do wickedly ... and corrupt by flatteries ..." (Dan. 11:32)

If you do, you are a FOOL! There is simply too much deceit here; too much fraud and cheating; too much dissimulation and trickery. No normal person can stay up with it. Come on now! Can any ordinary or sane person stay up with the fraud that's going on today in the Ukraine? - all the double-dealing! All the pretensions? Who can wade through it all? The very real fact of the matter is, the people involved in what's occurring today in the Ukraine are "deceivers and flatterers" of whom the Bible says,

"Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips ..." (Rom. 3:13)

"They use deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips;" "... they do wickedly ... and corrupt by flatteries" - isn't that what the U.S. elites are up to today? OR how else do you understand what Edward Bernays meant when he said that "average people" in the United States must be "consciously and intelligently MANIPULATED?" And you think you can stand up to this? That you can remain untouched?

When Hitler started out as Chancellor in Germany in 1933, one-third of the church went over to him immediately; one-third remained undecided as to what to do, and one-third opposed him. But by the time the war broke out in September 1939 (six years later), the entire church had gone over to Hitler. As German Pastor Hans Asmussen remarked after the war,

"Many German Christians say today that they opposed Hitler; BUT I NEVER MET ANY IN 1939!

THE POWER OF THE MEDIA

The power of Hitler's propaganda machine proved too seductive; but what Americans face today makes what Germans faced seventy years ago look feeble and insubstantial by comparison. Look at how the American media is portraying what's occurring in the Ukraine! Is NBC, or CBS, or ABC, or CNN, or FOX, or even PBS telling the truth? NO! - not one of them is! - and this is to say nothing about what the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post - those toadies of the American elites - have to say. To hear them report on the "goings on" in the Ukraine, one would think that the so-called "Chestnut Revolution" is being run by a band of "do-gooders" on the side of the angels. For example take the effete drivel by Oksana Zabruzhko that appeared in the Wall Street Journal on November 22, 2004:

"Never before - even 13 years ago, on the eve of the collapse of the Soviet Union - has Ukraine witnessed such a massive upsurge of national solidarity. People who've always remained politically indifferent and had missed voting in all previous elections, were disseminating self-printed leaflets from the Internet ... and volunteering to monitor the election on behalf of opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko. At a peasant food market a merchant first asked who you're voting for - the right answer (with which you could count on a generous discount) was 'Yushchenko', while incumbent Prime Minister's Viktor Yanukovych's supporters were more than likely simply refused service. In the playgrounds children were playing a game called 'Yushchenko beats Yanukovych'. To quote my seven-year-old neighbor, 'in our class Irka alone stands for Yanukovych, and no one wants to play with her'. The slogan chanted by protesting students at demonstrations reads in English, 'We're together! We're many! We won't fall'! And just how many of 'us' there are, one can easily see in the streets. These days Kiev, as well as other major Ukrainian cities, is defiantly demonstrating its political sympathies by wearing orange, the campaign color of opposition candidate Yushchenko.

"A special term has come into use - the 'Orange Revolution'. It looks like people have dragged all shades of orange, from yellow to vermilion, out of their wardrobes and adorned themselves with them simultaneously - vests and sweaters, scarves and purses, coats and umbrellas. Orange ribbons flutter everywhere - on trees, fences, lanterns, and cabs. Drivers joyfully beep to each other, and pedestrians (traffic police included) salute them with smiles ... It feels like the capital of three million has been transformed into a sea of brotherly love! The windows of shops are lavishly decorated with things orange. Among my favorites is the stunt of my neighborhood coffee shop - its windows glow with pyramids of oranges!

And all this in the Wall Street Journal! Eee gads! You'd think that this icon of anti-revolutionary conservative values had been at the ramparts of the 60's "hippie revolution" in the United States; that the paper's editor's desk had been taken over by Tom Hayden and Abbie Hoffman, and that those that sit on the corporate boards of Conoco-Phillips and Chevron Oil actually believe in "people's power." Is that what you believe! - if you do, I say again, you are a real nincompoop! a genuine fool!

Nonetheless, if one is fed this drivel day after day, night after night by the mainline media - and it's reinforced by your friends and co-workers - one can't help but eventually succumb to it. Come on now! - ask yourself, did you have any real idea about what was happening in the Ukraine before you read this article? And if this is happening with a relatively obscure matter like this (i.e., the "goings on" in the Ukraine), think how the mainline media twists the facts relating to other more important matters! - AND YOUR SUSCEPTIBILITY TO THIS INCESSANT PROPAGANDA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT YOU GO TO CHURCH. You can drop out of the "organized church" and NEVER darken its door again, and you would still be transformed - like Dorian Grey - into a MONSTER.

THE REASON I USE THE EXAMPLES I DO

It isn't without reason that I have from time to time touched upon what has happened to my erstwhile colleagues who left the ministry because they refused to countenance any thought about leaving Babylon (meaning the United States) - only the "organized church, and only after what they call the "spirit" prompts them, which really means, when they feel comfortable in doing so (and their wives say it's okay) - as if the spirit within you would stand in contradiction to the written Word of God which COMMANDS us to "COME OUT" (Rev. 18:4). Believe me, I bear these brothers no malice whatsoever; my purpose here is to use a REAL-LIFE example (and their own very words) to demonstrate what happens to those who choose to stay. They are transformed! They become different people! And if it could happen to them, believe me, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU! [I urge you to see our article, "Come Out of Her."]

Brothers and sisters, listen to me! - if you refuse to obey God's holy command here, YOU too will be changed, and changed forever! - that's what the second part of Rev. 18:4 means when it warns: "... lest ye become partakers in her sins ..." You will be transformed into those whom Jude calls -

"... trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, TWICE DEAD, plucked up by the roots;

"Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever." (Jude 1:12-13)

These are not verses you want to fool around with; they're too dangerous, too menacing, too deadly, too UNSAFE.

Of course, there are those who MISTAKENLY think that these verses have nothing to do with "born-again" Christians; but if that's what you think, you would be wise to think again. That's certainly not what the Scriptures seem to indicate, or why else would Jude say, in reference to those he condemns, that -

"I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, HAVING SAVED THE PEOPLE out of the land of Egypt, afterward DESTROYED THEM that believed not." (Jude 1:5) [i.e., who refused to obey God out of a spirit of unbelief].

Put who in remembrance? Those to whom he is speaking - his Christian audience. Come on now! - Why would he tell Christians to beware of what happened to the Israelites hundreds and hundreds of years before, unless what happened to those unfortunates could happen to them? NO! - Jude is clearly speaking to the church, to "saved Christians."

Moreover, the fact that he is speaking to "born-again" Christians is made even clearer in his opening statement: "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, TO THEM THAT ARE SANCTIFIED BY GOD the Father, and PRESERVED IN JESUS CHRIST ..." (Jude 1:1). Again, this suggests rather strongly that the same thing that happened to the Israelites could happen to Christians; that such things can happen to YOU. Come on now! - isn't that clearly what is being said here?

IT'S A DANGEROUS THING TO DISOBEY GOD

It's for this reason that I counsel you to be very wary of those who say you don't have to obey God's holy COMMAND to "COME OUT" of Babylon. These are people who disobey God, and "... have pleasure in them ..." that join them in their disobedience (Rom. 1:32); people who cannot themselves break away from "the abundance of her (Babylon's) delicacies" (Rev. 18:3), and take pleasure in hindering others who want to do so. These are people who have -

"... gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward (i.e., money), and perished in the gainsaying of Core. (Jude 1:11)

Cain is an example of the religious man who believes in God, but refuses to act PROPERLY on his belief; the "error of Balaam" is the attempt by man to justify the accumulation of wealth by a resort to the Scriptures; Core (Korah) is a reference to those believers who challenge the clear teaching of the Word of God, who "go with the flow" and are prone to take the easy way out of a situation. Core (Korah) challenged Moses (who stood for the Word of God) and said,

"Ye (meaning Moses) take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?" (Num. 16:3) [i.e., Moses, you think too highly of yourself; no one else believes what you're saying; no one else is doing what you're doing - taking us out into the wilderness to die; look around you at those who oppose you; they are as much guided by the Lord as you are - and what's more, unlike you, they are "famous in the congregation, men of renown." (Num. 16:2)]

Brothers and sisters, people who say such things are people -

"Who change the truth of God into a lie ..." (Rom. 1:25)

TIME HAS RUN OUT ON ALL OF US

Dear saints of God, the end really is upon us. It's time for us all to begin taking the Prophetic Scriptures very, very seriously! The Scriptures warn us that we should not bury our heads in the sand and think that everything will be okay. The Bible says that you should not allow such things to -

"... overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." (I Thess. 5:4-6)

Jesus said,

"... whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

"And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (Matt. 7:24-27)
