[Setting the stage for Gog / Magog]

By: SR Shearer
July 24, 2013

The importance of TURKEY and EGYPT insofar as the Prophetic Scriptures are concerned – especially as they relate to the coming Gog / Magog War - cannot be over-estimated. Their importance lies in the fact that both countries are SPECIFICALLY named as enemies of Israel (and the United States) during this great conflict. TURKEY is named as the leading nation of those Islamic countries that descend on Israel from the north, and EGYPT as the leading nation of those countries attacking Israel from the south.

Blue lines indicate the attack of the Southern Confederation (largely Sunni countries), and the red lines indicate the attack of the Northern Confederation (largely Shia countries). [Please see our article, "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin."]

NOTE: Naturally enough, the name "Turkey" does not appear in the Prophetic Scriptures; but the geographic area that is today modern Turkey certainly does.

The locations of (1) Magog, (2) Meshech, (3) Tubal and (4) Togarmah according to the ancient Massoretic texts.

The fact that four of the names specifically mentioned in Ezekiel are now in Turkey makes a pretty strong argument for Turkey being a part of the invasion of Israel. [Please see our article, "And So It Begins ..." under "IMPORTANT NOTE" in the subsection, "Two Additional Regions beyond the Nations of Iraq and the Persian Gulf Come Now into View."]

The final "Islamization" of these two nations (i.e., Turkey and Egypt) will signify that all the "players" in this great conflict are on stage and ready to play their parts in initiating the events of the Tribulation Period. [Please see Chapter XV of the New Antipas Papers, "The Gog / Magog War" – especially that subsection of Part 5 of Chapter XV, "The Prophecies of Ezekiel and Daniel Concerning the Gog / Magog War."]

We are close, very close now, to this particular event.

And, make no mistake about it, the Islamization of these nations is well underway – largely as a result of America's meddling in the internal affairs of these two countries. Ironically, this meddling stems in a great degree from America's struggle to prevent this very result – a very complicated and complex struggle designed to maintain American hegemony over these nations and prevent them from being submerged in the fires of Islamic fundamentalism.

This benighted American effort has revolved around a twofold stratagem:

  • FIRST, it has involved a DIVIDE AND CONQUER strategy that aims at pitting the Sunnis against the Shi'as. [Please see our article, "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" for a discussion regarding the differences between these two branches of Islam."]

NOTE: This strategy is "on display" (as it were) for all to see in the battleground nation of Syria where it is being used to pit the rebel followers of Abdul Halim Khaddam against the government forces of Bashar al-Assad:

  1. KHADDAM IS A SUNNI and is allied with the Saudi monarchy which remains fully in the American sphere of influence, and, incidentally, will remain so during the Gog / Magog War. [please see our article on Saudi Arabia in Part 5 of Chapter XV of the New Antipas Papers; specifically the subsection entitled "Greed Draws in the Merchants of Tarshish"],
  2. ASSAD LEADS THOSE WHO ARE ALLIED WITH THE SHI'AS OF IRAN which continues to be anathema to the interests of the American oil elites.

The Saudi dictatorship: it has NOTHING to do with "democracy."

Naturally enough, the American media is attempting to portray the fighting in Syria as a struggle between the forces of enlightened democracy (i.e., those forces allied with Khaddam) against the autocratic rule of Assad; but it is not that at all — unless one is prepared to consent to the absurd notion that the Saudi monarchy is a pro-democracy force in the Middle East.

Ali Jawad, a political activist and a member of the AhlulBayt Islamic Mission (AIM), explains what the US is up to in this rank dissimulation:

"Sectarianism has been pitched as the 'modern' story of the Middle East; it is a story that primarily serves to further the interests of imperialist and colonialist powers in the region ... The 'Balkanization' of the Middle East has for long been an unswerving desire of imperialist powers ... Sectarianism constitutes an important chapter in the 'divide and conquer' strategy [of the United States]."

  • SECOND, the United States is also utilizing a strategy known as "soft revolution;" it is a strategy that it has successfully employed in Georgia, the Ukraine, Tunisia, Libya, etc. to topple governments the U.S. deemed unfriendly to American interests. This strategy is "on display" now in both Turkey and Egypt where it is being employed to prevent their radical Islamization.

Ghandi-like revolution used to topple British rule in India, white despotism in the United States and white rule in South Africa.

NOTE: For the past several decades the United States has been "running" so-called "soft revolutions" against those governments that have — for whatever reason — defied the diktats of the American New World Order System.

These revolutions have been portrayed in the western media as popular, NONVIOLENT, Ghandi-like revolutions in which the people of these nations are pictured as demanding democratic accountability and governance from their despotic leaders and archaic political systems.

However, the reality has been a far cry from what this utopian imagery suggests: Western NGOs under the control of the CIA have been heavily financing and organizing these efforts which are specifically designed to keep these nations and peoples under the despotic rule of the United States; for example, a favorite tactic has been to create in the midst of an already scheduled election that appears to be going against the desires of the U.S. a public perception of voter fraud which is then used to mobilize a mass protest movement to demand "their" candidate be put into power – a tactic that the U.S. used in the Ukraine. It just so happens that "their" candidate is always the US-favored candidate — a candidate who proposes US-friendly policies and neoliberal economic conditions.

The maze through which this effort is "pushed" in those countries targeted for "soft revolution" consists usually of a series of differing organizations – religious, political, economic – all linked to one another in intricate keiretsu-like relationships where the same personalities appear again and again from group to group and organization to organization; the overlap is stunning. It's a huge and intricate net of organizational and personal relationships in which the same names appear in one group, disappear, and reappear again in another; sometimes they appear simultaneously in several different groups; sometimes one name will appear in a position of power and influence in one gathering, and merely as a "foot soldier" in another; then just as suddenly the positions will reverse. It's like looking at smoke rising from a fire on a hot, windless day and trying to make sense of its direction and predict the patterns which will emerge. STILL, IF ONE LOOKS CAREFULLY IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO DISCERN THE HAND OF THE CIA. [Please see APPENDIX 1, "How the CIA Operates Through Non Governmental Agencies."]

These "soft revolutions" have been popularly labeled "Color Revolutions;" for example, the "soft revolution" the US mounted against the government of the Ukraine in 2004 was known as the "Orange Revolution;" the one the US mounted against the government of the former Soviet Republic of Georgia in 2003 was known as the "Rose Revolution;" then there were the ones the US ran against the government of Kyrgyzstan in 2005 known as the "Tulip Revolution," and the "soft revolution" it pushed against the government of Iran in 2009 which it called the "Green Revolution." Please see our articles, "The Truth about What's Happening in the Ukraine" and "The Truth about What's Happening in the Republic of Georgia."]

Serbia is the country that experienced the first of these so-called "color revolutions" in October of 2000, which led to the overthrow of Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic. As the Washington Post reported in December of 2000, from 1999 on, the US undertook a major "electoral strategy" to oust Milosevic; "U.S.-funded consultants" played a crucial role behind the scenes in virtually every aspect of the anti-Milosevic drive, running tracking polls, training thousands of opposition activists and helping to organize a vitally important parallel vote count. [Please see our articles, "Things the American Media Are Not Telling You ..." and "The Mainline Media: One Enormous Propaganda Machine;" please also see "Washington's Soft Revolutions" in our article, "Creative Destruction for a Greater Middle East."

With all this in mind, let us now turn our attention to what's occurring in the Middle East – especially as these events relate to Turkey, Egypt, and to a lesser degree Syria (whose importance lies in the fact that it is at present a battleground between the Sunni and Shia factions of Islam). The situation is not at all what the U.S. media is portraying it to be.

- Antipas

Cecil B. DeMille

The scenario the U.S. has been using to maintain its hegemony over Egypt and Turkey -- as well as to topple its old nemesis, the Assad government of Syria -- using "soft power" reads like a Cecil B. DeMille Hollywood spectacular with a cast of millions of Twitter-savvy, well-trained Muslim youth that CIA-sponsored NGOs have enlisted to join them "in a work designed by the angels."

"A work designed
by the angels"

Unfortunately for Washington, this effort is now in danger of collapse as the Muslim youth the CIA has trained are increasingly "going over to the "dark side" and embracing Islamic fundamentalism.

The anxiety in Washington over the growing breakdown of its effort to work with these tech-savvy Muslim youths as well as Islamic groups that the U.S. felt it could "tame" is being "show-cased" (as it were) –

  • in Egypt by the U.S.'s attempt to overthrow the Morsi government – a government that the "powers-that-be" in Washington had come to believe was going over to the "dark side;" a belief substantiated by Morsi's escalating attempts to transform Egypt into a fundamentalist Islamic state that, ipso facto, would be inimical to U.S. interests not only in Egypt but in the entire Middle East – and all this despite Morsi's promises to the U.S. prior to his installation as president not to do so;
  • in Syria the failure of this strategy is being "show-cased" by the reluctance of the Syrian people to rally behind Abdul Halim Khaddam against Bashar al-Assad;

and -

  • in Turkey where the breakdown of this strategy is being "show-cased" by the U.S.'s so-far failed attempts to destabilize the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan – an Islamic regime that the U.S. also thought it could "tame." The evidence of this "sneaky," underhanded effort by the U.S. to topple Erdogan came to light when it was discovered that CIA- sponsored NGOs were the main instigators behind the demonstrations in Taksim Square in Istanbul – demonstrations that called for the resignation of Edrogan.

There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that the CIA and its various puppet-NGOs have been deeply involved in the demonstrations against the Islamic government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Islamic leader of Turkey.

Juan Cole, a Professor of History at the University of Michigan, writes:

"Protests at Taksim Square are demanding that the prime minister, Tayyip Erdogan, step down [but] my suspicion is that the protesters are secularists [influenced by CIA-sponsored NGOs] who do not like Erdogan's embrace of the religious Right as a prime constituency."

What all this clearly demonstrates is that Obama's effort to work with Islamic fundamentalists - to "tame" them (as it were) - is bankrupt, leading the oil elites in the United States to call for Obama's head on a platter, much as Salome, the daughter of Herodias, demanded the head of John the Baptist from Herod.

[More about the involvement of the CIA's puppet NGOs in an upcoming article.]

FARC fighters

The naïve effort by the US to "tame" these Islamic groups exhibits the titanic arrogance of the American financial elites who are desperate to maintain their control of Middle Eastern oil; it is reminiscent of the ridiculous (even silly) effort by Wall Street to "tame" the FARC in Colombia – rebels dedicated to the overthrow of the American puppet regime there - and bend them to Wall Streets' purposes: In June of 1999 Richard Grasso, then president of the New York Stock Exchange, flew into the jungles of southern Colombia and met with representatives of FARC. Grasso told reporters he made the trip to make clear to FARC that U.S. "financial circles" had great interest in the "peace process," and to this end they wanted to discuss with the FARC leadership "financial arrangements" to end the civil war (in other words, Grasso wanted to "buy-off" the FARC).

Grasso with a FARC commander in the jungles of Colombia

Now think about this for a minute!! The president of the New York Stock Exchange and other high-level representatives of the American financial elite flying into the jungles of Colombia to discuss the "peace process" with people the American press had labeled "narcotraffickers" and "drug dealers?" [For information on the FARC, please see our article, "Colombia: America's New Vietnam;" please also see our article, "Inside the American New World Order System."]

What is this? If FARC was really what the American elites [and the elite press (i.e., NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, etc.)] claimed that it was -- a "criminal drug cartel" -- then what were the President of the New York Stock Exchange and representatives of Morgan-Stanley, Citibank, Chase-Manhattan, etc. doing talking with the fatigue-clad, gun-totting FARC leadership?

If FARC was the drug cartel the American government had been saying that it was, then it would have been akin to the presidents of these elite institutions sitting down and talking with the Gambino crime family and other members of the New York Mafia about how to divide New York City up among themselves to their mutual benefit!

What all this demonstrated was the amorality of America's financial elites; their belief that -

  • money trumps ideology,

and -

The Bonanno Family BOSS: Joseph Massino

There is something wrong here!! Either the American people haven't been told the truth about FARC (that it is in fact a legitimate, ideologically-oriented revolutionary group), or the American elites don't care about FARC's alleged drug dealing (after all, they don't care about the Colombian government's drug dealing); all they want is a deal which will free them to pursue their economic agenda in Colombia, and hang the consequences insofar as the "War on Drugs" is concerned!

America: the Great Satan

THIS IS THE SAME KIND OF ARROGANCE THAT TODAY MAKES THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT THINK THAT IT CAN "TAME" THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD and similar Islamic groups. In the end, however, these Islamic groups will not be so easily subverted; ultimately, according to the Scriptures, they will turn on the United States (the "Great Satan"), setting the stage for the Gog / Magog War. [Please see our article, "Confronting the Inevitable Collapse of America's Client-States System in the Middle East."]

Prof. Michel Chossudovsky of Global Research explains what's happened to America's now failed policy of trying to work with Islamic fundamentalists; he cites the example of Egypt where the U.S. has desperately sought to "tame" the Islamic fundamentalists there; specifically, the Muslim Brotherhood. [Please see our article, "Obama's Mideast policy: Making Peace with Islam by Throwing Israel under the Bus."]

Chossudovsky sees what's happening in Egypt as emblematic of what's happening in all of America's client-states in the region. Chossudovsky explains:

"Western intelligence agencies have a longstanding history of collaboration with the [Muslim] Brotherhood. Britain's support of the Brotherhood instrumented through the British Secret Service dates back to the 1940s.

"Starting in the 1950s, according to former intelligence official William Baer, 'The CIA [funneled] support to the Muslim Brotherhood because of 'the Brotherhood's commendable capability to overthrow Nasser' ... These covert links to the CIA were maintained throughout the government of Hosni Mubarak." [Please see our article, "What's Happening Now in Egypt..."]

A relationship destined to go the same way the relationship between Osama bin Laden and the CIA went - a once "warm" relationship turned sour.

Chossudovsky says that the protest movement (meaning the so-called "Arab Spring") against America's stooge in Egypt (meaning Mubarak) in early 2011 caught the U.S. by surprise; as events moved on, the U.S. began to sense the inevitability of the rise of Islam in the Middle East and attempted to place itself on the "right side" (the "winning-side") of history. Chossudovsky writes:

"From the outset of the 'Arab Spring', the Obama administration's objective has been to undermine the secular governments in the Middle East and North Africa and install a model "Islamic State", which would serve US geopolitical and corporate interests."

The ARAB SPRING is a U.S. contrived term pushed on the Western media for the revolutionary wave of demonstrations, protests, riots, and civil wars in the Arab world that began on 18 December 2010.

Clockwise from top left: Protesters in Tahrir Square in Cairo; Demonstrators marching through Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis; Political dissidents in Sana'a; Protesters gathering in Pearl Roundabout in Manama; Mass demonstration in Douma; Demonstrators in Bayda.

As a result, according to Chossudovsky -

"The Muslim Brotherhood [which the U.S. thought it could use as a puppet] was spearheaded into the government by Washington as a 'replacement' rather than an 'alternative' to Hosni Mubarak, who had faithfully obeyed the orders of the Washington Consensus from the outset of his presidency."

It soon became apparent, however, that Morsi was moving Egypt in a fundamentalist direction beyond the limits set by the CIA when it installed Morsi as president of Egypt. Put another way, Washington began to perceive a REPEAT of what occurred with Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, a movement the U.S. created in order to eject the old Soviet Union from Afghanistan that later turned on the United States as the "GREAT SATAN."

Put another way, Washington began to perceive a REPEAT of what occurred with Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, a movement the U.S. created in order to eject the old Soviet Union from Afghanistan, and which later turned on the United States as the "GREAT SATAN."

As a consequence, the U.S. initiated efforts through its CIA-sponsored NGOs in Egypt to remove Morsi from the presidency. By the time Morsi saw what was happening, it was too late to respond adequately, although he made desperate attempts to do so (see below)

Nancy Okail

On December 7, 2011, Nancy Okail, the director of Freedom House's Egypt office in Cairo, was summoned to the Ministry of Justice for interrogation. Soon after she arrived, the prosecutor accused her of illegally receiving funding from a foreign government – i.e., the American government - and interrogated her for seven hours. A few weeks later, a group of police officers stormed the Cairo offices of Freedom House, forcing the staff members into a conference room, taking their computer passwords and documents, and holding them incommunicado for hours.

A.J. MacDonald, Jr., reports:

"BE ADVISED: the NGO 'Waging Nonviolence' and virtually all other so-called peace, justice, and nonviolence groups are run by the CIA and the State Department. As with the US government, the opposite of all they say and do is the truth: they are supporting violence in Egypt, Libya, Syria and all other nations unfriendly to US and Israeli geo-strategic interests. They "lie and do not the truth" (see: 1 John 1:6).

He continues:

"For a REAL, grass-roots, non-CIA-run, American Peoples' movement for truth, justice, and peace, which is dedicated to making Dr. King's DREAM a REALITY."

The same day, nine other so-called "civil society groups" were raided, including other American NGOs such as -

  • the National Democratic Institute,
  • the International Republican Institute,
  • the National Democratic Institute

  • the International Center for Journalists.

[For information on all these CIA-sponsored NGOs, please see our articles, "Libya: Lies, Lies and More Lies" and "Creative Destruction for the Greater Middle East."]

At least 16 other Americans were named in the case, and among those being prevented from leaving Egypt was the son of U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Again, all this had the affect of prompting the U.S. to overthrow its erstwhile puppet regime – i.e.,. the Morsi government - using the Egyptian military, which over the years has been morphed into an arm of the Pentagon. The fact is, the relationship between the U.S. military and the Egyptian military resembles the relationship of two entwined poisonous serpents.

The relationship between the U.S. military and the Egyptian military resembles the relationship of two entwined poisonous serpents.

Chossudovsky states what should be obvious to any honest observer of what's happening in Egypt:

"The overthrow of President Mohamed Morsi by the Egyptian Armed forces was not carried out against US interests, it was instigated to ensure "continuity" on behalf of Washington."

Naturally enough, the U.S. is doing everything it can to hide its part in the coup. To this end US Defense Secretary Hagel and US Chief of Staff General Dempsey are walking a fine line - expressing concern while attempting to avoid the fact that the U.S. has been manipulating events from behind the scenes.

The U.S. is doing everything it can to hide its part in the coup. To this end US Defense Secretary Hagel and US Chief of Staff General Dempsey have been walking a fine line - expressing concern while attempting to avoid the fact that the U.S. has been manipulating events from behind the scenes.

BUT the people "in the streets" of Egypt know what has happened - that it wasn't the "people" who called for the intervention of the Egyptian military, it was the U.S. Indeed, F. William Engdahl of Global Research reports that demonstrators protesting the ouster of Morsi have been carrying hand-made posters denouncing the CIA in ousting Morsi.

NOTE: The Egyptian military claims that it was forced to step in to save Egyptian democracy. But is by now "common knowledge" in Egypt that the anti-Morsi movement was heavily infiltrated by CIA-sponsored NGOs like the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

Global Research goes on to state:

"The role of the [Egyptian] armed forces is not to protect a grassroots movement. Quite the opposite: the objective is to manipulate the uprising and quell dissent on behalf of Washington. Let us be under no illusions. While there are important divisions within the military, Egypt's top brass ultimately take their orders from the Pentagon.

"Defense Minister General Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, who instigated the Coup d'Etat directed against President Morsi is a graduate of the US War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania .

"General Al Sisi was in permanent liaison by telephone with US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel from the very outset of the protest movement. Press reports confirm that he consulted Hagel several times in the days leading up to the Coup d'Etat. It is highly unlikely that General Al Sisi would have acted without a 'green light' from the Pentagon."

Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi: A U.S. "stooge."

Defense Minister General Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, who instigated the Coup d'Etat directed against President Morsi, is a graduate of the US War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Stephen Lendman of OpEdNews reports that -

"Conditions in Egypt remain fluid. They're unsettled. They're unsafe."

And, according to Lendman, this is so much the case that in order to keep the lid on insofar as the "legitimacy" of the coup was concerned -

"... the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) was forced to take control of state media and shut down three Islamist-run TV stations.

"It raided Al Jazeera's offices. Five staff members were detained. Four were later released. Controlling the message is prioritized. Televising pro-Morsi rallies is prohibited.

"Muslim Brotherhood Egypt25 channel was targeted. Its managers were arrested. Junta power usurped full control."

Nonetheless, the success of the coup remained tenuous; its tenuous nature was underlined when the interim government attempted to name Mohamed ElBaradei, an American stooge, as interim prime minister; the attempt was foiled by massive street demonstrations by pro-Morse protesters.

Mohammed Al-Baradei (El-Baradei / ElBaradei), a former Egyptian diplomat and the former director-general of the U.S. manipulated International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is supported by the so-called International Crisis Group, an organization that is linked to US foreign policy interests and tied to the Carnegie Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the George Soros' Open Society Institute.

Moreover, there is increasing evidence that the Nour Party, "an Islamic sect more radical than the Muslim Brotherhood," is moving to fill the vacuum left by the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood from power.

The al-Nour Party ("Party of Light") is one of the political parties created in Egypt after the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. It has an ultra-conservative Islamist ideology which believes in implementing strict Sharia law. It has been described as the political arm of the Salafi Call Society; it is by far the most prominent of the several new Salafi parties in Egypt.

The Salafist movement is a movement among Sunni Muslims named by its proponents in reference to the Salaf ("predecessors" or "ancestors"), the earliest Muslims considered to be examples of Islamic practice. The movement is related to radical Wahhabism.

It was Wahhaby terrorists that were responsible for the destruction of New York's "twin towers" on 9-11.

Lendman writes:

"The media have tiptoed around the authentic character of the Nour Party, with leading sources noting only that the Nour Party's program is derived from or influenced by Saudi Wahhabism."

"But the Nour Party reproduces Wahhabism – the ideology that inspired Osama Bin Laden – in its entirety. It is fanatically and murderously opposed to ... Christians and Jews." [We URGE you to see our article on Wahhabism, "Radical Islam."]

NOTE: It was Wahhaby terrorists that were responsible for the destruction of New York's "twin towers" on 9-11.

Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, author of Plans for Redrawing the Middle East: The Project for a New Middle East, agrees with Lendman; he warns:

"The road that has been taken in Egypt [and the one that America has encouraged Egypt to take] is a dangerous one. A military coup has taken place in Egypt while millions of Egyptians have cheered it on with little thought about what is replacing the Muslim Brotherhood and the ramifications it will have for their society."

Israelis on the verge of attacking Iran's nuclear facilities

This has huge implications for the future of both the U.S. and Israel; if Egypt goes, then Turkey will go, and soon thereafter all the remaining nations of the Middle East. If this is combined with an Israeli air attack on Iran's nuclear facility, it could not help but further catalyze the Islamization of the Middle East; this no doubt would serve to end the "in-fighting" between Sunni and Shi'a in Syria and, indeed, throughout all the Middle East; after all, if the U.S. and the old Soviet Union could lay aside their differences to fight Nazism, then certainly the Shi'a and the Sunni could do the same in order to confront the danger that America and Israel pose. [Please see our article. "Precipitating a Cascade of Prophetic Events."]

Antipas Ministries as Chicken Little; always crying out, "The sky is falling."

Naturally enough, no one can with any certainty predict the EXACT time when all the pieces of the "Prophetic Puzzle" will fall into place; as we explained in a number of earlier articles - from an experiential standpoint it's like a father and mother with no training in the area of child-birth waiting for the birth of their first child: there are a lot of "false starts."

It's in the light of this that many accuse those of us in Antipas of panicking way "before the time." Indeed, some have accused us of being in a state of continual "panic" since about the seventh month insofar as the Scriptural timetable is concerned; of being a kind of "Chicken Little" – an epitaph that undoubtedly will attach to you if you involve yourself honestly in these matters.

5th month 6th month 7th month 8th month 9th month The Birth

Come on now! - Doesn't she look like she is going to explode at this point?

But believe me when I tell you that we are much closer to this point. [Please see our article, "Now Is the Time to Do Something; It May be too Late Tomorrow."]

But can anyone reasonably deny the fact that we are in the "run-up" to the "Tribulation Period" – which indicates that the time frame we are "arguing over" is itself very, very short. [Please see our articles, "Unusual Volcanic Activity Is Becoming Ubiquitous in Today's World" and "The Beginning of Sorrows,"]

The Bible somberly warns us:

Travail upon a
woman with child

"... when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." (1 Thess. 5:3)

Yes, it's true: like a woman who is pregnant, we cannot know the EXACT time when the "Tribulation Period" will begin; but we should know when the time is near. Jesus said,

"When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

"And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (Matthew 16:2-3)

In the light of this, Is there anyone so naïve as to believe that the accelerating Islamization of Turkey and Egypt is not a very disquieting "sign of the time?"

And so we say, Pay no attention to those who would call you a "Chicken Little;" we say -

Hold on to your hats and

More next time.

God bless you all,

S.R. Shearer,

Do what Sophie Scholl did some eighty years ago: PASS OUT OUR FLYERS.

One should not think that it is necessary to hand out our leaflets (flyers) personally; it is enough that one should do what the members of the White Rose did: post the flyers on walls, trees, utility polls, leave them in union halls, in libraries, etc. Eventually the flyers distributed by the White Rose were copied and circulated throughout all of Germany.

Some even made it into Allied hands where they were then copied and dropped from Allied planes over Germany. That's the beauty of such leaflets (i.e. the written word); they possess a life of their own after they pass from your possession.

NOTE: Why use our flyer? - there are a number of reasons:

  • First, our flyer directs people to our website where they can obtain the information they need to take a stand against the connection between the elites of the American New World Order System and today's church.
  • Second, the website will arm those who access it with the theology and eschatology needed to take the stand mentioned above. Remember the words of the Apostle Peter:

"... be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear ..." (1 Peter 3:15)

  • Third, it describes those of us connected to Antipas much in the same way the members of the White Rose described themselves:

"Antipas Ministries, which is responsible for this flyer, is NOT part of any church or denomination; it is simply a loose-knit group of Bible-believing Christians concerned about the connection between the elites of the American New World Order System and today's church."

  • Fourth, it provides a means for others who contact the ministry from your area to be re-directed back to you; in this way – and over time – you can build up a group in your area to stand with you in your efforts.

Remember the words of the Lord to Elias when he thought he was all alone in his struggle against God's enemies:

"... I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal [the god of money]." (Romans 11:4)

These "faithful ones" are there, and if you go "fishing" for them using our flyers, you will in time find them; but it will take much diligence and patience on your part to "fish" for them.

They are as follows:

  1. Our "B-52" flyer
  2. Our "Blessed By Ye Poor" flyer
  3. Our "Religious Right, Business Right, Political Right" flyer
  4. The "Christ of Today's Evangelical Church" flyer

Then make copies and take these copies out to the campuses where you live; pass them out; OR if that seems too "daring" for you right now, post them on telephone poles, the sides of buildings, on campus bulletin boards; post them in union halls, in the neighborhoods of the poor and downtrodden, near employment offices, wherever you can.

Once again, we URGE you to read (or re-read):

How the CIA Operates Through
Non Governmental Agencies

Posted by icarus

Everyone knows that the CIA funds various covert operations throughout the world. They do this through various front organizations including known CIA operations groups which funnel funds to "various non-governmental agencies" (NGOs) which then use those funds to achieve objectives both foreign and domestic. There is a tremendous history of this funneling to quasi-private organizations ... but it's also interesting how overt some of it is. Much of how the CIA operates has bubbled up due to failures and successes around the world in countries like Venezuela, Egypt, Pakistan and thanks to some American whistle-blowers.

The #1 thing you have to understand about this...all of this taxpayer money (your money) that is being spent to further geopolitical and corporate goals is not just money spent to overthrow foreign governments...a good amount of that money is being spent to influence the hearts and minds in America too.

America is a case study of how to successfully let the tail wag the dog; there are a LOT of journalists, editors and influential people on the take (propaganda assets). And they're is always a concerted effort to punish those of us who share any semblance of truth.

Who can forget the news last year that various CIA linked NGO's conducted a fake polio drive in Pakistan to gain intelligence information in the lead up to the assassination of Osama bin-Laden.

The CIA used to fund the NGO "National Student Association" for many years until a bombshell whistle blower account brought light to that particular organization.

The Telegraph explains how the U.S. planned the Egypt uprising since 2008.

Here is just a small list of various NGOs that are either known or are broadly accepted as CIA front operations. These organizations funnel money directly from their budget into various unknown and foundations, humanitarian groups, and private companies to further CIA priorities:

  • National Democratic Institute for International Affairs
  • National Endowment for Democracy
  • Freedom House
  • Millennium Challenge Corporation
  • International Center for Journalists
  • Center for International Private Enterprise

National Endowment for Democracy

The NY Times writes about the National Endowment for Democracy:

"The National Endowment for Democracy is a quasi-governmental foundation created by the Reagan Administration in 1983 to channel millions of Federal dollars into anti-Communist 'private diplomacy'. Its bylaws require "openness" and "public accountability" in its stewardship of millions of dollars a year in taxpayer funds, which are distributed to labor, business, education and other groups and organizations overseas to promote democratic ideas. Today, however, for the second time in its brief existence, the endowment finds itself in trouble with Congress. Some of its "private diplomacy," it turns out, has been more than private; it has been secret."

And the NED is still around. Reagan created it. A former CIA case officer – Philip Agee – explains how the money moves from the NED through various conduits to influence international affairs.

The NED website lists their mission as:

"The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. Each year, with funding from the US Congress, NED supports more than 1,000 projects of non-governmental groups abroad who are working for democratic goals in more than 90 countries."

Michael Barker writes about NED:

"So although the CIA still carries out most of its activities under a veil of secrecy, a lot of their former work is now carried out overtly by the National Endowment for Democracy and an assortment of other related groups. This apparent openness has in turn ensured that there has been next to no critical reporting on the democracy-manipulating activities undertaken by government agencies and private philanthropists. However, as Agee noted in 2003, the CIA still remains a key player in the democracy-manipulating field, especially given the "CIA's long experience and huge stable of agents and contacts in the civil societies of countries around the world." Agee adds that: "By joining with the CIA, NED and [US]AID would come on board an on-going complex of operations whose funding they could take over while leaving the secret day-to-day direction on the ground to CIA officers." Moreover, the CIA has "ample funds of its own to pass quietly when conditions required," while the CIA officers themselves play a critical role in monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of democracy-manipulating activities."

Millennium Challenge Corporation

A Wikileaks cable shows the involvement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation in Uganda – a country we have been very active in as of late:

"Uganda (ACCU), Jasper Tumuhimbise, went into hiding in late December after publishing a "Fame and Shame" booklet on government corruption. Funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation's (MCC) anti-corruption threshold program, ACCU's booklet is a public perception survey in which Security Minister and National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Amama Mbabazi was perceived as Uganda's most corrupt public official. Tumuhimbise went into hiding after he and ACCU staff received threatening telephone calls and a visit from security personnel seeking information on the ACCU's international donors. On December 24, Tumuhimbise told PolOff that security forces followed him from the eastern town of Soroti to Kampala. He blames Mbabazi for the intimidation of ACCU staff."

Steve Dobransky writes an analysis about MCC's official reason for being – MCC does exactly the same thing as USAID and utilizes information from Freedom House (a purported CIA front group):

"The MCC was intended to make up for USAID's apparent gap in political and economic "morality." The MCC was portrayed as America's conscience and will to enact a new world order and not just talk about it. The MCC conditioned all its aid on recipients' nature and intentions in terms of democracy and free markets. The MCC would use data from Freedom House, the World Bank, and other outside institutions. Never before has a U.S. bureaucracy outsourced its primary judgment and decision-making authority to external organizations. The creation of the MCC also reflected a sizeable distaste for past U.S. policies and their apparent amorality."

National Democratic Institute
for International Affairs

The Daily Beast writes about the recent crackdown of U.S. NGO's in Egypt:

"Just after noon on Dec. 29, Julie Hughes, the Egypt country director of the U.S.-based National Democratic Institute (NDI), got a phone call saying police were raiding the group's office in the south....

"That day, 10 civil-society organizations operating in Egypt were raided, including U.S. pro-democracy groups International Republican Institute (IRI) and Freedom House, which, like NDI, receive U.S. government funding. The Ministry of Justice launched an investigation into the groups and interrogated employees; Hughes's own questioning lasted four and a half hours. At least seven Americans, including Hughes and IRI country director Sam LaHood, son of U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, have been banned from leaving Egypt.

"With Egypt still wracked by pro-democracy protests a year after the uprising that overthrew Hosni Mubarak, the ruling Supreme Council for the Armed Forces (SCAF) has taken to blaming "foreign hands" for the continued unrest. In their search for scapegoats, they've launched a full-scale investigation into civil-society groups. But storming NGOs, interrogating U.S. citizens, and banning them from leaving the country has strained U.S.-Egypt relations, and threatened the sacrosanct $1.3 billion in military aid from the U.S. that SCAF thrives on."

Freedom House

People's World talks about Freedom House in Egypt:

"Among those facing trial in Egypt are representatives of Freedom House, a U.S. organization with a worldwide reach receiving 80 percent of its funding through the NED. Allegations have repeatedly surfaced of Freedom House ties to the CIA and involvement with clandestine anti-government activities in foreign countries. Between 1997 and 2009, Freedom House gathered in $10.6 million for democracy-promotion work in Cuba."

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN says Freedom House is an appendage of the CIA:

"With regard to Freedom House, a United States-based NGO enjoying consultative status, the Permanent Representative of Cuba went on to say that the Committee had been dealing with that "so-called NGO" for several sessions after having received complaints from many delegations. He had submitted proof of the politically motivated, interventionist activities the NGO carried out against his Government. The NGO's links with terrorist groups in Cuba as well as the fact that it was an instrument of the special services of the United States were no secret.

"He said he was fully aware of the close and proven links between Freedom House and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), under which the NGO carried out destabilization missions against legitimately-established governments. Freedom House tried to sell the image of an NGO promoting democratic values while concealing the fact that it was a tool of subversion. While he supported the positive and constructive contributions made by NGOs, he could not allow their image to be tarnished by a tiny minority of groups such as Freedom House.

"As he had several questions to pose to the organization, he regretted that its representative was not present at the meeting, even though the NGO had been informed that its case would be discussed today. That, he noted, represented a new lack of respect by the "so-called NGO" to the Committee. He informed delegates that information on the links between the NGO and the CIA had been placed at the back of the conference room."

The Monthly Review Foundation says Freedom House is still filled with neo-cons and details their history with CIA involvement:

"Today, Freedom House continues to serve as both a think tank and a "civil society" funder as part of the State Department's modern "democracy promotion" complex. Frequently cited in the press and academic works, the reports and studies produced by Freedom House and its affiliates promote the neoconservative ideology of its trustees and government sponsors. Although some names and affiliations have changed, the group is still dominated by neocons. Brzezinski, Kirkpatrick, and Forbes are still on the trustees list, as well as Liasson, O'Rourke, and Noonan.

"Trustee Ken Adelman is a contributor to the Project for a New American Century, along with former CIA director R. James Woolsey, who joined Freedom House in 2000. Adelman was an assistant to Rumsfeld from 1975-1977, U.N. ambassador and arms control director under Reagan, and is currently a member of the Defense Policy Board. He wrote an article for The Washington Post in 2002 titled, 'Cakewalk in Iraq'28 in which he said: 'I believe demolishing Hussein's military power and liberating Iraq would be a cakewalk'. Another trustee, Harvard professor Samuel P. Huntington, is the U.S. author of The Crisis of Democracy and The Clash of Civilizations and Remaking of World Order (1996)."

The Santos Republic details the involvement of various NGO's in Egypt – including Freedom House:

"In 2009 sixteen young Egyptian activists completed a two-month Freedom House 'New Generation Fellowship' in Washington. The activists received training in advocacy and met with U.S. government officials, members of Congress, media outlets and think tanks. As far back as 2008, members of the April 6th Movement attended the inaugural summit of the Association of Youth Movements (AYM) in New York, where they networked with other movements, attended workshops on the use of new and social media and learned about technical upgrades, such as consistently alternating computer simcards, which help to evade state internet surveillance. AYM is sponsored by Pepsi, YouTube and MTV and amongst the luminaries who participated in the 2008 Summit, which focused on training activists in the use of Facebook and Twitter, were James Glassman of the State Department, Sherif Mansour of Freedom House, National Security Advisor Shaarik Zafar and Larry Diamond of the NED.

International Center for Journalists

From their website:

"ICFJ does more than train citizen and professional journalists. We launch news organizations, media associations, journalism schools and news products. We help journalists develop stories that lead to better public policies such as improved access to health care and cleaner environments. Our trainees expose corruption, increase transparency and hold officials accountable to their citizens."

The L.A. Times reports that the ICFJ receives money from the CIA arm NED:

"In Egypt, the four U.S. organizations under attack for fomenting unrest with illegal foreign funding were all connected to the endowment. Two — the GOP's International Republican Institute and the Democratic Party's National Democratic Institute — are among the groups that make up the endowment's core constituents. The two other indicted groups, Freedom House and the International Center for Journalists, receive funds from the endowment.

"The history of the National Endowment for Democracy would not be unknown to Fayza Aboul Naga, the minister of planning and international cooperation who has been leading the attack against the American organizations. Aboul Naga, a career diplomat, spent five years in New York in the 1990s as an advisor to a fellow Egyptian, U.N. Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali. It was not a good time and place for her to watch American democracy in action."

Center for International Private Enterprise

The Alliance for Global Justice is not a fan:

"The boards of the NED and its core organizations are full of Spin Doctors from public relations firms, big advertisers, corporate headquarters; political analysts and advisors; and ex-CIA and military personnel. Vin Weber, NED Board Chair, works for a public relations firm that is part of the Omnicom Group, the world's 3rd largest advertising agency. The Center for International Private Enterprise, an NED core institute, includes an executive from Google and a major contractor with Google. The International Republican Institute, another NED core institute, includes a former Senior Advisor to the CIA and various representatives from the military-industrial complex. These are just a few examples. Through well-placed contributions to political parties and other organizations, and through its web of corporate PR, military-industrial, and intelligence connections, the NED is able to coordinate campaigns of misinformation and bring together a diverse coalition in order to intervene in and control foreign elections. If that fails, the NED empowers that coalition to overthrow elected governments—like it did in Haiti and like it is trying to do in Venezuela."

CIPE is publicly known to have attempted and failed at a coup of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in 2002:

"One memorandum between the State Department and the NED reveals a supplemental $1,000,000 awarded in April 2002, right after the failed coup d'etat against President Chávez, that was slighted for NED's Venezuelan benefactors. The primary grant recipients include the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, the American Center for International Labor Solidarity and the Center for International Private Enterprise. Smaller grant recipients include Acción Campesina, Asociación Civil Asamblea de Educación, Fundación Momento de la Gente, Instituto Prensa y Sociedad, Asociación Civil Liderazgo y Visión and Asociación Civil Consorcio Justicia, amongst others.

"Other NED major award recipients, such as the Center for International Private Enterprise, which received over $200,000 last year for Venezuela activities and the International Republican Institute, which was awarded almost $300,000 for its work during the past two years in Venezuela, have poured their financial aid into support for Fedecámaras, the radicalized business association at the forefront of the opposition movement and into the development and strengthening of political parties to successfully oppose Chávez in future elections."

CIPE was involved in Egypt's uprising as well – Jenny O'Connor explains:

"According to the NED's 2009 Annual Report, $1,419,426 worth of grants was doled out to civil society organisations in Egypt that year. In 2010, the year preceding the January – February 2011 revolution, this funding massively increased to $2,497,457.11 Nearly half of this sum, $1,146,903, was allocated to the Center for International Private Enterprise for activates such as conducting workshops at governate level 'to promote corporate citizenship' and engaging civil society organizations 'to participate in the democratic process by strengthening their capacity to advocate for free market legislative reform on behalf of their members'. Freedom House also received $89,000 to 'strengthen cooperation among a network of local activists and bloggers'."

Solidarity Center

The Solidarity Center is run by the AFL-CIO which receives the majority of funding from the NED. It could be very beneficial to America to destabilize countries with an appeal to workers for better pay, better working conditions and who better to create that internal resistance and resentment to a country's leaders than those who run unions for a living.

Michael Barker writes about the very current situation with the Solidarity Center's involvement in Egypt:

"There is no question that union organizing against oppressive laws is fantastic, but one can understand the Egyptian government's repressive response in light of foreign-run NGOs — and especially those partnering with the US government — channeling considerable monies to Egyptian organizations that might not have the Egyptian government's best interest in mind.

"These corporate connections are intriguing, and just a little more research on Beinin's part would have revealed that the chairman of Suez Cement Company is Omar Mohanna. This is worth acknowledging because Mohanna is the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, which indicates that the US government, if it chose to, could exert significant indirect pressure on reforming the ETUF through their good friend Mohanna. One would expect, however, that such pressure is already being applied given that Mohanna is involved with numerous groups that work closely with the NED's 'democracy-promoting' apparatus.

"For example, Mohanna is the vice chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (a group that has received aid from the NED in 1995 and 1997 via the Center for International Private Enterprise), and his work as a board member of the NED-connected New Civic Forum. In fact, as mentioned earlier, the NED has already given the Solidarity Center grants to work with the ETUF, and Beinin himself even explains how the ETUF 'received funding and technical assistance from the Solidarity Center to establish child labor programs in the rural governorates (provinces) of Sharqiyyya, Minufiyya, Buhayra, Fayyum, and Kafral-Shaykh, and in Alexandria'. Then, remaining on his theme of uncritical support for the US government, Beinin continues by adding that: 'These programs were positively evaluated in reports prepared for USAID..."

Now there is a surprise!"

Owning the Media

Carl Bernstein writes in "the CIA and the Media:"

"Alsop is one of more than 400 American journalists who in the past twenty–five years have secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency, according to documents on file at CIA headquarters. Some of these journalists' relationships with the Agency were tacit; some were explicit. There was cooperation, accommodation and overlap. Journalists provided a full range of clandestine services—from simple intelligence gathering to serving as go–betweens with spies in Communist countries. Reporters shared their notebooks with the CIA. Editors shared their staffs. Some of the journalists were Pulitzer Prize winners, distinguished reporters who considered themselves ambassadors without–portfolio for their country. Most were less exalted: foreign correspondents who found that their association with the Agency helped their work; stringers and freelancers who were as interested in the derring–do of the spy business as in filing articles; and, the smallest category, full–time CIA employees masquerading as journalists abroad. In many instances, CIA documents show, journalists were engaged to perform tasks for the CIA with the consent of the managements of America's leading news organizations' ..."

The Church Committee uncovered how the CIA funded journalists abroad ...where those stories were picked up in the U.S. as truthful and factual.

The NY Times came across an old CIA cable during the time of the Warren commission. The goal was to discredit critics of the Commission and to use "propaganda assets" i.e. journalists to do so:

"To employ propaganda assets to [negate] and refute the attacks of the critics. Book reviews and feature articles are particularly appropriate for this purpose. The unclassified attachments to this guidance should provide useful background material for passing to assets. Our ploy should point out, as applicable, that the critics are -

  • wedded to theories adopted before the evidence was in,
  • politically interested,
  • financially interested, (IV) hasty and inaccurate in their research, or
  • infatuated with their own theories. In the course of discussions of the whole phenomenon of criticism, a useful strategy may be to single out Epstein's theory for attack, using the attached Fletcher [?] article and Spectator piece for background. (Although Mark Lane's book is much less convincing that Epstein's and comes off badly where confronted by knowledgeable critics, it is also much more difficult to answer as a whole, as one becomes lost in a morass of unrelated details.)

The CIA went after Iraq war critic Professor Juan Cole during the Bush administration.

Alternet explains what you can do:

"Combined with current events factoids, Wikipedia and Sourcewatch, anyone with basic internet competence [ability to follow links and do key word searches such as 'African Wildlife Foundation, MI6, CIA' or 'Fossey Foundation, arms trafficking'] and is able to make and organize notes while sifting out blatantly misinformed or amateur articles, can learn to overcome disinformation, do their own analysis, map the corporate activities, identify the rip-offs and peoples exploited by these schemes, all while identifying the actual players and motives behind the New York Times propaganda.

"Apply the preceding method and the result is quite clear; the New York Times is but one arm of a mechanism to deceive on behalf of a corporate centered sociopath get-mega-rich[er]-quick scheme of the 1%, exploiting Americans belief in their institutions, any consequence to the USA and actual democracy be damned in process."

"He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

"And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (Matthew 16:2-3)
